I usually fry up my seasonings and then throw it in the pot. Then I would throw in the already pressured meat and peas. Then I would put in the rice. I will leave it to boil for a little while and then add flavour to taste.

Mixed meats Cook-up rice, one of my favorite guyanese dish. Yes it need married man poke/Basil and thyme to flavour it nicely, that's how i make mines even though I'm living in France . We also do a cucumber salad on the side! 👌

I didn't recall Guyana having more than 1 national dish. Cook is amazing one of my favorite dishes here Ian.

@@PhilipVlogsMD, all other Guyanese foods came from India, Portugal, Europe, Africa, and China. Cook-up rice is indigenous to Guyana and was created by African slaves. Also, you have Amerindian foods from which pepperpot originated. But cooks up rice is widely used by all races because it's cheap and nutritious.
