Hi, I am one the many people responsible for the show and I think I can answer your question. The show itself is made up of many aspects of different shows and movies, from western cowboy to ninjas and FBI the show itself is a homage to a lot of this different type of genre even the main character Joe Higan whom was the character I would say takes a lot of inspiration from myself with a mix of cowboy and ninja art style of fighting. So really the answer to your question is yes and no, the viewer is supposed to come up with their own expressions, but ninjas do play a big role in this show.

I have to say the sudden shift to mecha fights is really a disappointment, this entire show was marketed as a cool ninja fight anime, the cgi for the robot models is holding the animation back lots. Also it’s really funny how you kind of just admitted that higan is practically a self insert of you which is embarrassing😂

This is a new concept a new idea that was made into a show.
Go back to watching the same old generic ninja storyline shows you old hippies.

There was a lot of potential with the suits even though i liked the flights better with out suits. for example they could have amplified ninja art.

Been debating on starting this show. Is it worth it so far?
No , only like ep 1 and 5 are the one who actually has a very good choreography and a constant designs and animation , starting from ep 6 it become a heavy mecha anime fights ( so basically heavy usage of cgi starting from ep 6 , ep 5 has some but it was acceptable) that of course if you are invested in the anime for fights , the story and plot are very basic and not interesting to be honest ( just watch the video of ninja kamui ep 1-6 best fights on this channel and that’s it )
Nah, it doesn't really feel like what was promised from those first trailers a year ago. Too much like other stuff that came before it, I'd recommend a pass. Animation/ story took a dive quickly, too.
depends on how many shows and movies you've seen, its a mix of a bunch of other things thrown into a generic revenge story, reminds me of the 80's-90's like combining ninja scroll, basilisk, cowboy bepop, and ghost in shell without any of the good character writing in favor of dialogue from the metal gear games
If the ninja tech suit were revealed in the beginning, I’d probably would not be watching this but heh, I’m too invested into the characters to turn back now.

@@jimbo9208 NEVER!!! Corporate douchebaggery has made a pre-mature end to not just the Venture Bros, but many other great shows, and the only way to stop or reverse it is to make noise. You are also under the impression I am asking, I'm not asking I'm telling. They want me to consume their product they must make it one I (and many others) want. We have seen this work in the past with Futurama and Family Guy to name just a few. GO TEAM VENTURE!!!
The beginning was perfect, it was chilling, the moment these robots appeared it seemed like it stopped having an air of seriousness. 👎
the plot was never good, the Japanese voice acting and art/animation were carrying it. but now the transition to CG fights is gonna kill this series hard. Nothing against CG but when you set the bar so high in early episodes you are essentially screwing yourself when you take a turn like this. I'm assuming there will be good 2d fights to come but they needed to be spaced out to the middle of the season, because these past few episodes have been slogs

also the writing is ... eh, its not my cup but definitely a younger me, the dialogue is on par with the metal gear games thats not too bad of a thing if only the animation quality could make up for the predictable/expositional/bland lines like demon slayer does
