    Simply one of the greatest books written. I've re-read them, simply amazing. Yet scary, too.

      Greatest book ever written:
      The Holy Bible. (King James Version... or some would argue The Geneva Bible)

      Third time through for me now. Excellent writing, great story & character development…all while being completely terrifying at the same time.

    One of the best prepper fiction books I've ever read. Amazing author who did a TON of research to write this book.

      Just binge-listened and was sooo impressed at the amount of research that went into it. What a classic!

    Read this book twice, and now reviewing the audiobook while I travel. AMAZING. Scary, insightful, and scary. It got me started on preparations for ANY unforseen event. Never too late and never too much preparation. Outstanding book Mr. Forstchen. Thank you.

    There was one of the AMERICAN ASSASSIN books TOTAL POWER or TOTAL CONTROL that talked about a GRID DOWN. This is something to seriously consider!

      Just re-read the first and finishing the second tonight. Firmly believe they should all be a movie. Just enough fact tied with the story to make a movie

    I'm halfway through the book now. Possibly the most eye-opening book I've ever read. I've just ordered a bunch of stuff from a Geiger counter to a shortwave radio, all to go into the EMP proof box I'm creating.
    It's not foil-hat type lunacy, just a sensible form of insurance we should all have in our basements. I'm glad I bought the book.

    I recently read this book and it's two sequels... this is a very, very scary scenario to think about - an EMP attack by a terrorist group that could result in the U.S. losing 80% of it's population over one year's time is something that very well could occur, and we'd all be very wise to make our own preparations for the worst just in case... the federal government should get cracking and start upgrading our electrical grid for hardening against EMP, even if a terrorist attack does not occur - a solar flare (Carrington Event) could knock out not just the U.S.'s power grid but other countries as well - then we'd see a real apocalypse! I'm planning to get into prepping myself, and I'd advise everyone else who thinks this type of scenario could happen to do so as well!

    I'd like to know why Forstchen's web site doesn't work any longer.
    This is a great book! I'm almost finished with it, and it is horrifying! This is not science fiction, it is science FACT, and I expect it to impact the United States in the near future. Make you preparations now... and if I'm wrong, then no loss - you still have plenty of usable goods at hand.

    One of the best prepper fiction books I have read is "Nine Meals To Anarchy" by Farrell Kingsley. If you liked One Second After or Lights out you will love his book. Its non-stop, lots of action and he tries to make his books "Educational Fiction" which is good because it get's you thinking.

    all of you preppers,we as a nation are going to re evaluate,if this happens and it very well could,we will find out real soon how much you care about this country,as soon as this happens we will be attacked by whoever would want total take over, lookout for your neighbor, take care of whoever has your back, food and water will be our least fear, having all of these maladies will be our least problem, having all of this and a invasion would be serious shit,so take car of whoever you can,and altogether we will endure,WE WILL ENDURE

    Perhaps we should give less aid to Israel since we give them billions each year (and they already have one of the highest GDP's and strongest militaries in the world) - and use that money to bolster our own infrastructure.

    • @hyrumwebb8512
      @hyrumwebb8512 3 роки тому +2

      Perhaps we should stop spending billions on the military every year ourselves, and focus on our infrastructure instead. A reliable infrastructure that can work under an emergency will do more to protect us than a few more aircraft carriers and jets.
