Hi, i have Cacti 1.2.21 pooling 1500 hosts ( dslams and gpon olt). What do you recomend me, use the same database of cacti or create a independent data base? Thanks.
what port does this receive on? im using nxlog to try to push from a windows client to my cacti server..

Likely not. I used to be the "Windows" guy, but moved away years ago to Linux as it's so much easier to manage. So, there is not too much interest from the team. Your goal would be two fold, either install syslog-ng or rsyslogd on Windows, or create a Linux VM or PM with either of them, and then forward the log messages to the Cacti database from that server. If you want everything on Windows and one server, you may want to "try" Cygwin + syslog-ng. I understand it's available for Cygwin. What I don't know is if the MySQL forwarding API component is. All the details about setting up syslog-ng are in the documentation, but in order to create startup services in Cygwin, you have to train yourself on the Cygwin binary `cygrunsrv`. In my case, I run sshd on my Windows box, and then use `cygrunsrv` to register sshd as a startup service. So, when windows boots, so does sshd. You would need to do the same thing with syslog-ng.

The folder is change (used #cd /usr/share/cacti/site/plugins)
