Its insane to me that one game you can hear everyone in every building sneaking around the map and the other game I litterally cannot hear a dude from 2 meters away running like Usain Bolt.
I wouldn't be upset with the footstep volume if other people didn't hear me like I'm walking in tapping shoes. I can't hear them till they are on my ass in my gameplay, but when I watch their killcam they heard me from a mile away.
Yeah, today I was playing with my friend and we got jumped in a house. Saw on the killcam these guys literally tac sprinted inside, neither of us heard anything. It's just boom you get killed, you think "damn how did he get me from such a long range" then the killcam shows that guy was running behind you 😂

You also don’t want to have the dialogue volume down because the game calls out flags and hardpoint info like losing c and stuff and sometimes it calls out “enemies approaching from the rear” and “enemies near” depending on the operator and in mw2019 it would even call out actual callouts sometimes like “enemy at the Shanty town”

Holy crap you weren't kidding. Home Theater lowers everything I don't want to hear to the point that I can actually raise the volume and not have gunshots be uncomfortable while hearing footsteps loud and clear.

i have Razer Nari Ultimate with MW2 audio set to "Surround Sound" in Razer Synapse 3. Ive tried Home Theather / Headphones / Headphones Bass Boost, all in Audio Mix in MW2, but no matter what I do, i can never hear peoples gunshots behind me. When someone is shooting me from behind (or slightly to the side), I only see the damage UI showing me im taking damage, but I cant hear any gunshots. Audio volume from RPG and explosives (and such) are *terrifyingly* high and makes my ears bleed... but I cant hear any footsteps. Tried different EQ settings/presets in Razer Synapse 3, but none of them make any difference. Any ideas on how to fix?
@@jacobspeier2945 They already have an EQ preset called "COD Warzone 2" and it's actually really good and super similar to what they did in this video. I recommend just using that one. Just remember to also enable "Spatial Audio" under that preset and then changing your "Speaker/Headphones Game Sound Device" in MW2/Warzone 2 Audio Settings to "SteelSeries Sonar - Gaming (SteelSeries Sonar Virtual Audio Device)"

The only thing I begged for, for three years is to buff the footstep audio as It was the main way I was dying, get the three then the fourth runs up behind me with no audio & when the MW2 BETA came out I was so happy as they had actually buffed footstep audio & you could finally hear people to react & actually go on big streaks & finally get to move around the map because you don't just find a building & ADS the doorway because you know you wont hear anyone ever but clowns like JGOD started complaining about it & got them nerfed!!! Three years of every streamer complaining about footstep audio & one video from JGOD & they nerf them. He must enjoy getting a few kills & dying to the guy you cannot hear three feet behind you as that is what he wanted from MW2 & now has given us in Warzone 2.0, I will give it a week & if we don't get a footstep audio buff by at least 2x I am not sitting around for three years again painfully playing waiting for them to buff footstep audio.

@kershaw4 - I was checking this online (for PS5) and it seems as though ‘Sonar’ is PC-only. I think you have to be connected to your PC while playing the game in order to take advantage of the Sonar settings.
the footstep audio is wildly inconsistent at best. I have had times nothing else is going on and i cant hear a guy tac sprinting behind me literally 1 step frpm adsing and shooting me from 3 meters away. Then other times there will be a mortar strike nearby and gunfire. And the building you are in sounds like a 2 ton gorilla is stamping around in combat boots above/below you. There is also huge inconsistencies with damage as well. Just earlier i was wrecking early, then all of the sudden it starts taking me like 9 freekin bullets to kill with the rapp lmg. The game is fun, but very often feels unfair, worse than any cod i have played to date. There is definitely some shenanigans going on.

Not to mention nobody's audio will be exactly like you say it will due to the estimating of the point placement.

@@ChaosGamingSA It's happened to me a couple times too after updating my graphics card driver, for whatever reason. Open up Steelseries GG and go under the Sonar tab. Underneath your Mixer, make sure that your Game Audio is set to your headset. And while you're there, make sure your Chat, Media, and Microphone Audio is also going to your headset just in case! Hope this helps!

GadgetryTech actually goes into detail about the freq AND db at 15:54 in his vid. you should watch the whole thing to get as much information as possible though. It's a really good deep dive into MWII audio! It would have been cool to see GadgetryTech at least mentioned in this video with all of the time he put into creating these Eq's. It's sad that LaserBolt couldn't even take the time to show his viewers the specifics in Sonar.
