I just love your video's. At first I wasn't sure what it was about them, but I would always find myself looking forward to seeing them. But upon "further reflection " haha... I realize its the shopping with family, the great things you find (I need to come shop where you shop, prices are great!! Seriously!!) It's your not being aftaid to buy just things that are "in" but buying things you just love and seeing things in new light, you have a great eye for beautiful things, and your southern accent, well, well, whats not to love about that?!!! Thanks so much for sharing your thrift shopping and hauls! 😁 Hope you decide to start an online store, I would love to buy some of those treasures you find!😉🥰🙏

Julie, you hit the mother-lode today❣🙉💥 The sewing box is fantastic, the little "butter pats" are actually dipping saucers. You pour in extra virgin olive oil and use it to dip your bread into (instead of using butter) when you are having Italian food, like lasagna or spaghetti or ziti. The dark amber/brown stemware glass turned candle holder gives such a warm, lovely glow. And the crocheted Fall blanket looks so good on your sofa - very comfy cozy❣🍂🍁🍂 Can't wait for Part 2‼️🤣🤪😎

@@ThrilledThrifter you are more than welcome, Julie. I think 🤔 you could use those little plates for personal butter 🧈. I would probably also use them as personal salt dips when serving radishes and green onions. Growing up, we would always dip those in salt with each bite....mmmmm good.😋
I used to have a sewing box just like that. It sat on the floor next to my dresser for years. I loved being able to just pick it up & move it to the dining room table whenever I needed to do my sewing, then move it back when done. So handy. ❤️

Yes it a muddler, it’s great to make your own spices, garlic, aromatics blend! We also use it in Brazil to make Caipirinha drinks 👌🏼

I really wish my local Goodwill stores were this packed with such wonderful treasures. The stores around my area are extremely low on shelf goodies due to being short staffed.

I LOVE the sewing box. What a great organizing tool for sewing supplies! Those butter pat dishes are great to use as risers, aren't they?! So sweet that your daughters love to thrift with you, too. Such a fun thing to do together! :-)

Julie, the wooden kitchen utensil is a muddler. It's used for making cocktails; for example - crushing mint leaves 🍃 and limes 🫒 for a Mojito, or Mint leaves 🍃 for a Mint Julep (think Kentucky Derby). Also used to crush other fruits 🍋🥝🍍🥭🍉🍊and sugar cubes for a variety of cocktails. Me personally? I would use it to mash baked apples 🍎 to make chunky applesauce or to mash baked or boiled rutabagas, baked sweet potatoes, 🍠 boiled or baked regular potatoes, 🥔 or even steamed cauliflower to make smaller pieces before melting cheese 🧀 and sprinkling bacon crumbles and chives on top. Sometimes I roast several whole heads of garlic🧄in the oven, drizzled with olive oil and when they are soft, squeeze the garlic cloves out of their skins into a bowl and mash the garlic until smooth. Mix in softened real butter, add a little salt and pepper so it's seasoned to taste. Then I use a scoop of this "condiment" to melt on top of a cooked steak when it comes off the grill or out of the pan for added flavor. It's also great to spread on French bread or Texas toast when you are making garlic bread in the oven.😋 Of course, once you use it for mashing cooked foods, you wouldn't be able to use it for muddling for cocktails because of the transfer of flavors - especially garlic - through the wood. Did I make you hungry yet? 🤣

I have a love of mirrors (among my many other 'loves'!) and pick up frames (for cheap), and then have the glass shop put mirrors in them for one of my 2 spare bedrooms (NOT cheap!) ----13:39 Did she look like she started out life as a jar topper (like for popcorn or something)?
I was thinking the same thing. Looked like a jar topper. Could you tell I was trying to figure her out lol.

I LOVE the sewing box! I do sewing and crafting and that would be sooo welcome in my craft/sewing room. I love how you put the fairy lights in the lantern. I read in a magazine how you could put Christmas lights, or a battery lit candle in a jack-o'-lantern. Can't wait to see what else you bought so see ya next week.

I used to collect sewing boxes. Just love them! I used to enjoy cleaning them up, painting them, and decorating them with folk art. The sewing box that you found Is one of the best (I think) just for actual storage. Everything is so easy to get to and the box is good for multiple uses besides just sewing. You got a real steal at $15!

The small china dishes are (or originally used as) coasters. They used to be given as samples when purchasing a set of china. The wooden piece is a meat tenderizer. 💝

The wooden tool at 11:12 is made for use with a Victorious or Squeeze strainer, for processing fruits and vegetables in home canning. Ie. Applesauce, tomato sauce, etc.

So lucky to find that cliche! So exciting. I am planning a Goodwill trip going about an hour away and stop at every Goodwill I find and then take a different route home and look for Goodwill stores that way. Oh Julie you've been so blessed I wish I could find that I'm a quilter in a seamstress and I'm forever looking for my stuff and keep it in Little Boxes all over would be nice to have one big sewing box like that I don't know I've turned seventy-two soon so I haven't found one I may not ever find one
