I have always being fascinated with our African history beyond Barbados 🇧🇧. I have learnt so much from watching documentaries or vloggers that visit Mother Africa . West African cuisine have certainly influenced the Caribbean cuisine and aĺso Caribbean music and dancing .

Interesting and extremely informative. I see why I find Barbadians so receptive and easy to get along with. I didn’t know we had so much in common from a historical and genetic perspective. Thank you so much for this information and the very eloquent well informed and incredibly intelligent guest.
One take away from my opinion is, I believe introducing pan African studies in every curriculum across the African diaspora would help bridge the gap between us. This will serve to educate and show our commonalities and similarities at the grass-root level to help mitigate the misinformation we see on daily basis on main stream media.
Once again thank you very much I really enjoy watching 😊❤

My daughter visited Ghana on student study with Blyn college and loves Ghana. She spoke about the coucou, fish and other delicious foods. Hope to visit one day . Dr inning, Dr Osei, Dr Kwakye Berko are my former Ob/Gyn/team of skill Ghananian Doctors. Very professional.

I think the Ahanta's and the Nzemas were also part of the Akans group taking as slaves from Ghana to Barbados as well.

The reason why the enslaved Africans were Asantes and Fantes is the wars the British fanned between these 2 tribes. They will supply the weapons and whoever lost in battle they will take them as prisoners of war and ship them to the Carribean and elsewhere as slaves

@David we need to get these flights off the ground, it is time enough. I just came back from Freetown with 108 African American . Some of our people went from Atlanta to Toronto to Paris to Freetown. Some went from lax to Chicago to dc to Belgium to Freetown. We have to do better than this.Transit in Bim for a couple of hours the straight on to west Africa.

Kwame Nkrumah was too smart for the west they engineered his overthrow through the CIA. He saw through the wests capitalism before anyone even thought of it. He started preaching against it and did not want Africa to export but rather manufacture and export. They the WEST tell Africa how much they will pay for our goods. Our shipping line was called the black star line which collapsed soon after he overthrown.

TRUST me if I tell you, I am from Ghana and I know the majority of the people sent to BARBADOS were FANTES and not ASHANTES even though both tribes are from the bigger AKAN TRIBE. We used to learn about this in the 60s and the 70s in school and Our FANTE elders from Cape Coast the FANTELAND use to tell us how some of our families were taking to WEST INDIES to be educated...................................
