- An interview with Ralf Hütter on Beacon Radio, 14th of June, 1981, before their concert in Birmingham Odeon the same day.
Note that the audio recording is incomplete, it's less than 30 minutes long. I added the last few questions in text. Also I noticed I made a writing mistake in the video, it should be "road" not "roadm" of course.
Thank you for this upload, these interviews are so rare, they're a great insight into the band.
Amazing. These guys were decades ahead of everyone. Thank you!
Very good English and such a soothing voice. Great insight into the band and their ideas.
I think this was the first time that somebody ever said the words software and hardware in 1981. Outstanding.
If i wouldn't have heard Ralf voice i would have thought this interview was fake seeing how Ralf and Kraftwerk usually behaves with the press. This is amazing, Thank you very much for this. The ""unplugged"" version of Pocket Calculator... just great!
+sas147741 - Beacon Radio was a very cutting edge station and this kind of interview wasn't unusual. The station began by promoting obscure bands which it thought were worthy of a wider audience. Look up Beacon Radio's history here: www.mds975.co.uk/Content/beacon_radio_wolverhampton.html

Candolad Thank you!
