The reason for repotting is that the plant is in the potting mix for the optimal environment of whatever nursery it was grown in. Your home is *not* that optimal environment.
Do you, but the reason is that 1) there are far too many sellers and growers of plants now (which was not the case for generations), and they use cheap and awful materials for plants, 2) your bring in a world of pests that don't need to be there, and 3) the plant is in potting mix that's not appropriate for your home.
Just in case anyone was wondering why you should repot upon getting new plants.
Thank you for bringing up this information! I have done my research and have seen these reasons stated, however, repotting a plant also puts stress on it due to the nature of the task. In addition I do try to be as low waste as possible within my hobbies. If a plant continues to thrive, I personally do not want to disturb it so have made the choice to leave them alone (for the most part) until a change is needed. But these are definitely important things to keep in mind for anyone curious as to why repotting may be recommended!
I root my australis Lisa just by poking it into moist soil. Keep it moist a couple weeks, and it's never failed, I've done around 8 this way 😉 nice collection thanks for sharing 👍

I think you may be talking about a dracaena plant, is that right? A lot of plants can be grown inside provided you give them the right conditions, but without knowing which plant you are talking about specifically I can’t be sure.
