My entire house is Snowbound (trim, ceilings, and most walls). I did watch your video before choosing it - thank you!! It would have never been on my radar had I not sampled it in my home, along with all the other "popular whites" and off whites. I fell in love with how it looked like a creamy white in my home without being yellow tinged. The exterior and interior hard finishes of my Southern California new build are all cool tones (gray and greige exterior, and my kitchen has mid gray quartz with silver sparkles). So, anything with a yellow tinge including Pure White looked like it didn't "fit", and alabaster looked straight yellow. Even Extra White was giving yellow energy in my house. Painting everything Snowbound did force me to change out some furniture though, such as some accent chairs that were yellowy-cream colored for ones that are turquoise.
What a great note to read, Cristina, and I'm so glad my review was helpful for you. I'd LOVE to see photos of it, as it's definitely becoming more popular!!
I have snowbound in our front playroom and it is absolutely gorgeous and a clean white to my eye! We absolutely love it!
That is awesome, I love this type of feedback, thank you!
I painted my bathroom with it and the old shower insert that looked white to me started to look very old and yellow. This color definitely has pink and purple but also yellow will pop up and other ivory colors will look yellow and old
Good points, this can DEFINITELY happen with a color like Snowbound!
Almost could see a little blush
Oooooh, you betcha! Snowbound can be a tricky one!
We painted our whole home (eastern sunrise, western sunset) in Snowbound and looove it!
I wish your background whiteboard was about 50 percent bigger. Love your videos!
So helpful, as usual! Thanks, Kylie!
You're so welcome!
We just tried it in our bathroom against our marble tile which is white with grayish blue. Snowbound just makes it look dull and dirty, we ended up choosing gray screen per Kylie’s blog post and it works so much better!
I chose Snowbound kitchen cabinets for my new construction home and gauntlet grey for the island, both work perfectly together and LOVE it!
That sounds GORGEOUS - good choices! What did you do for the walls?
@@KylieMInteriorsPaint City Loft by SW...I really love it's contrast to Snowbound, but still in that warm white tone. It's perfect!
I usually agree with you 100 percent but I have had a diff experience with Snowbound. I love it and have indeed used it in whole home scenarios several times. It has never looked pink or green and I like that it doesn't have that yellow undertone like so many "whites" often times do. Most of the time Simply White and Swiss Coffee (super popular) are just too yellow for my taste and for me, yellow is limiting. Of course no one paint color will work in all circumstances and paint colors perform differently in every home, from room to room and dawn to dusk but that's been my experience with Snowbound thus far. I LOVE your videos! So so good.
Nicki, I just LOVE feedback like this and I'm really happy to hear this! Because what I see as a bit limiting, you and others might see as JUST what they were looking for and as versatile as they need it to be - THANK YOU!
Agree. My Snowbound throughout our house throws no undertones. It was actually the cleanest white that we tested in our home (and we tested a lot). No violet, no pink. Unfortunately, videos don’t show how a paint will work in your house…try them out…
I went with simply white for my interior, too yellow, i wish i would have used a color consultant! Planning on using Snowbound for exterior with Iron Ore. :D Considering Snowbownd or Pure White for the interior if I ever paint again. That yellow just drives me bananas.
@@KristinaAinsworthRealtorAustin snowbound with iron ore is just perfect!
She did say that those green and other undertones may show depending on what other colors you pair it with, also when they mix the paint depending on the line of paint and the sheen the formulas are different and that affects the undertones.
Snowbound looks great in my house. Could you please suggest an accent color that's not too warm or cool? I don't want to go too dark like Iron Ore, but a bit lighter for a piano room accent wall and the master bedroom walls. Thank you! Your videos are super useful!
This is so interesting - I tested Snowbound today along with White Flour. Snowbound showed up as warmer but I would not say it had obvious pink undertones. I will test Pure White next.
Which one did you go with?
@@fayejordan175in the end, in the actual space, neither Snowbound or Pure White were warm enough. We went with Creamy in the bedrooms/hall on the N/E sides of the house, Greek Villa in the common areas on the S/W sides, and White Flour in the laundry room where it gets no natural light at all.
Thanks now I’m gonna go with Pure White!
I ordered SW snowbound for my kitchen cabinets because it looked best with a Cambria quartz. I originally wanted SW Greek villa but all the quartz looked pinkish against it, and it seemed to have a green undertone. Now I'm stressing, My kitchen barely gets natural light, since the only windows are in the NW facing breakfast area. I am pairing them with Cambria Delgatie quartz, gold hardware, and a Zellige-like backsplash in various cool/warm whites. I wanted a creamy look, and hope that's what I end up with!
I’m doing almost the same for my kitchen and I also have north west light, and little light in my kitchen (window is in dining area). I can’t find an off white that works with the quartz
What did you end up with?
@@saralouisepetty8093 I went with SW Snowbound for cabinets and Cambria Delgatie for the quartz. My backsplash is ceramic tile is Equipe Artisan White. I'm very pleased with how it turned out. It's very neutral and classic. It works well with the sage green and paprika/clay accents I use. I've warmed it up too with wood and baskets.
This is so helpful as I need to choose a white for my living room. Alabaster might be the one :)
Awesome, I'm glad it was helpful! I have a blog post on it too :)
I don’t know if it’s the camera or my IPad but the Snowbound looked exactly the same with every example. Sort of greenish gray. I hope it looks the same in my house because I just had my entire kitchen in Snowbound except for the island which is painted in Iron Ore. We also contracted Snowbound for the adjoining den, living room and dining room. Hope I haven’t made a big mistake! 😳
Hi Valeri! Do you like your snowbound? We are painting the whole house in it and I am just now looking at reviews 😳
Did you like snowbound?
What color is the room in the background?
Snowbound as a wall color - what trim color do you recommend?
You did change my mind 😊
I love to hear this! While I'm just as happy if someone LOVES a colour, it's equally as important to figure out what DOESN'T work for you and your home!
Can you please review Benjamin Moore White Heron? Love your videos 🤍
Thank you. Could you make a video on Sherwin Williams most popular whites for painting exterior brick?
Thank you! So, is extra white your favorite?
What’s the name of the white paint on the wall in your background?
Can you please do a color review on SW White Flour? Also, what SW color so you recommend to best mimic BM Simply White?
Pure white! 👍🏻
Hmmm... I might like this... I want to avoid any yellow
Which grey/greige colors would you recommend to compliment snowbound?
Another great video, thank you. You've helped me choose the colors for my two guest bedrooms (Repose Gray & Sea Salt). Would you do a review of Sherwin Williams "Neutral White" # 4017 because now I am at a loss for words. I painted samples in my hallway and living room where it seemed to have gray, putty undertones. We thought it was great so we painted my East facing Master bedroom with the Neutral White. Yikes ... everything looks pale with yellow undertones. Part of the problem is the house next door is a terra cotta color and it reflects on my house. Should I get black out curtains? Thanks, Eileen
Would you use Snowbound as trim/doors color?
Which white would you used for a 2 tone cabinet for top cabinets a white? And bottom naval or hale blue.
Would you use it for exterior?
Personally? No, I don't trust its undertones.
I am thinking about doing this color for my ceiling in flat and crushed ice for my walls in satin. For my trim I was thinking about using pure white. What are your thoughts?
I saw no pink or violet undertones in this video haha. If anything, it just looked a little gray. Maybe the video didn't pick up the cookies well
would you use snowbound in a loft as a wall color and ceiling color with a wall of vintage exposed red brick? And if the risk of pink is too high what white would you suggest?
Love your videos! Which white do you recommend for a South West facing room with low light? I want something warm, but not yellow.
You might like Egret White, it's similar to this with a taupe undertone but it is a little darker (70 LRV), so it looks nice with white trim. I have it in my living room which doesn't get a ton of natural light, and it's the perfect LRV for my space. She has a video on it too.
@@ellyc87 thank you! I'll look it up.
what is the BEST carpet color next to snowbound white walls/trim? hardwood floors next to it are Bona 50% sand dune/ 50% birch
What did you end up picking?
DEFINATELY HAVE TO DISAGREE WITH YOU ON THIS ONE. SNOW BOUND IS KNOWN FOR NOT HAVING ANY UNDERTONES AT ALL AND BEING VERY SOFT AND WORK WELL WITH PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING. Especially when you aren’t looking for a stark white.
Kylie, is SW high reflective white commonly used as an exterior color?
Noooope, not as common.
Curious about this with Worldly gray..any thoughts
Ooooo, that makes me nervous! Because Worldy Gray CAN grab a green undertone, I think it would be risky with the potential violet-pink in Snowbound. I'd move to something more like Pure White :).
I have light cherry wood cabinets and hardwood floors. I am looking for a white that would be pretty as my whole house color. Every time I pick a color it has a yellow or pinkish under tone that I want to avoid. Any suggestions and videos that could help would be great. Thanks in advance.
I’d like to know the answer to this too What did you finally pick
Hi,
I’m Buying Dallas White Granite Countertops.
Please Please Help Me With Picking Out A SW Wall Paint Color.
It’s An Open Floor Plan.
Cabinets Will Be White.
Thanks In Advance… :)
So if I want to ‘hide’ the undertones do I go with a colour opposite on the colour wheel or around it?
Well, opposites often ATTRACT and make each other stronger. Often you'll want to pick up a BIT of the undertone you're trying to avoid, which can actually help it to 'belong' a bit more.
I totally agree with you on snowbound. Didn’t like it:(
Yes pink violet as soon as I opened the tester can .👎
