One thing i realized a bit late, was armour level is quite important. I finished act 2 and decided to spend some time checking my gear because i hadnt gotten anything that felt like upgrade over my rares with nice traits and i realized i was using lvl 5 gloves and like 3-4 lvl 11 items, for armour that's an issue from what i understand, affixes do scale based on that, but also defensive stats do scale per level for sure, so early gloves give like 7 shield but lvl 30 give like 70. I think we are meant to just use magic items which drop often, level them with orbs hence why we get so many augment orbs, then if they have good affixes use the rare regal orbs to make them rare.

Playing blind as a new player, just finished Act 1, managed to beat boss in 2nd try, playing minion build… haven’t been blown away by a game this much since original Dark Souls, loving it so far
i love the difficulty although i defeated the count on my 2nd try with an unoptimised build. the experience was superb. i thought like i was playing a boss straight from bloodborne/dark souls. i was smiling and sweating at the same time throughout the entire boss fight dodging abilities left and right. WHAT A GAME!
Runes will really help. I took 5 or so tries on the act 1 boss and some of that was just me not playing it very well (my successful fight was far from perfect in terms of dodging attacks) but it dawned on me afterwards that I should have used my runes because it would help a lot.
Charms singlehandedly make challenging bossfights trivial. The first one you learn the damage type of the boss, then swap to the right charm and it becomes a breeze. It seems that getting res to 40-50 is enough for the campaign.
None of this will help poe1 veterans because they already know what to do. The problem is that the game simply is ruthless mode from poe1, which most of the players didn't want ggg to focus on, that's why there's this disappointment that poe2 isn't poe1 lite, as it was advertised, but the ruthless mode. I just can't stop my mind from remembering ggg saying "ruthless is just made by one or two people after work, just for the niche of players that want the game to be slower, it won't affect poe development". And here we are with Ruthless 2, while a new poe1 league was discarded. Some people dislike when difficulty slider only affects HP and damage numbers. I hate when my crafting games have almost no crafting materials and it becomes a gambling instead.
For my fellow casters, +lv of gems is still insane. I had a decent staff with some cast speed, % damage and crit on it, changed it to +3 lv of gems and similar % damage and my tooltip dps doubled. Had to "cheese" act 2 boss without it (unique chest for lots of ES + mind over matter, would recommend for tough fights, but it'll take a long time), it was painful. Now I can actually kill monsters. Game is hard, gear drops are low, but it's still fun to play. Besides sanctum trial, still hate it.
Me and my wife just made it to the first act boss. When the fog came up, she was left speachless and started cussing a lot. lol, she's into it more than i am, but i love that 😂
I REALLY appreciate your respect for spoilers. If you keep putting out spoiler free content I will keep watching! Of course eventually you gotta talk spoilers, just warn us! Thanks :)
The more i learn and discover the game, the more i understand mistakes i made early game. For exemple : I sold all gear i loot including the ones with sockets... It took me hours before knowing that the hooded man can identify all of my items for free...
Tip #8: Check vendor gear every level you get. You can get new weapons quite often and then transmute and augment them. If RNG do not gives you what you need from killing mobs, vendors will helps you!
@@alexk9295 That is only from one of the vendors. His store is a gamble on RNG of your weapons. Check the other two in the town and you will find specifics on what they sell.
Some advice for loot and progress complainers: your first ever character is your slowest in loot and progress. Games with smart loot spoiled us. Your second character onward will already have the gear needed for every level from the beginning, and eventually you will have one special character that specializes in finding loot.
Yea I’ve been using everything. That’s one thing I really love about this game so far. YOU NEED TO USE THE STUFF THEY GIVE YOU!!! What a novel thought! 😂 But in most games you can breeze on through hoarding everything. I hate that and usually have to crank the difficulty way up to take advantage of all the systems within a game.
Played sorcerer with wuarterstaff then bow. Now at lvl 40 i think im ready to try and play regular sorcerer, youst gonna uppgrade some skills and get a neat staff!
Thanks for the information! Could you make a video on how to get the best value from the 300 points we have? Specifically, which stash tabs should we buy, and is it worth waiting for a sale?
I haven't used the sockets yet because I'm still progressing okay on a sorceress and my armour isn't something I want to regal orb. 😅 I saw enemies using fire skills so I found some stuff with fire Res, then the next area had a few lightning damage monsters.... But it still came out okay. Easier to watch for and avoid one damage type.
This helped alot thanks, still not understanding point of weapon skill points, from understanding it's not adding points. But i get less weapon skill points then i do actual skill points.
Another tip would be changing class or changing the build. It's a fact that some abilities are just trash or don't work early in the game. I tried making a shield warrior, but the damage output was just pitiful, even after leveling up and getting better gear. I switched to a frost witch and just rolled through the first act without breaking a sweat.
I think one big reason that people are finding it too hard is that normally in an arpg you pick a skill or specific theme to build, but poe2 doesn't seem designed that way, you have to use the skills appropriate for the circumstance. I think build diversity will be limited compared to poe1.
A lot of people are hoarding the gems and currency because they don't know what to use them on and are afraid to pick the wrong thing, so they just throw them in the stash.
I was hoping one of the tips would be "Okay, so the game by default has the extreme item scarcity settings on, here's how to turn it off for normal players". Alas, it wasn't the case, so since I do everything you said already, apart from playing in a party, the best I can do is... Try to check for shield skills on weapon swap? I'm struggling with being bodyblocked everywhere and none of the grenades seem to help, mobs just get stunned in place around me. Or maybe it's just act 2 being extremely badly designed, but had the same problem in tutorial ultimatum. Go down the elevator and instantly surrounded.
level 72 monk now, enjoy my character, built a cast on shock comet monk with 7 power charges + charged staff, had a lot of fun during the second run of the campaign, got a bit turned off now regarding mapping today because i keep encountering these shotgunning ranged mob packs that can 1 shot even though i have good gear/ defensives and react to them, just annoying, 1 wrong move and it's over. also, mappping = die and restart the whole map, so yeah, definitely more multiplayer friendly than solo, in poe 1 you had 6 portals, in poe 2... you have 1 if you're solo :|
im watching a bit so its in my history. im buying POE 2 tomorrow.. will watch this to help me cause i never played POE, and even the starting class idk wtf to choose. 🤣
struggled as monk, bouyght a nice rare from vendor which i bet no one does, game isnt meant to drop 5 rares every monster. now im flying through. basically using one skill and clearing atm
I did see a complaint about flasks dropping like crazy still, which I definitely have to agree with in my own experience and hope this will be switched to drop maybe more currency. No reason so many flasks need to drop anymore when we only use one of each. Anyone else noticing this?

Hi, do you know what the icons below the monster health bar mean? I found this*, but I still don't understand all the icons. The flame, lightning, armor, and flake are clear... but there are more. Thanks. *Silver icon means positive resistnance, Gold icon means high positive resistance (I guess around 40% plus), red is neagative (the only negative one). No icon for 0 resistance.
the problem with the 1 point about dont hord gems, im halfway through act 3, i have yet to get a chaos orb, i gotten only 4 regals and 3 exaulted orbs, (3/3 were all from A1) thats it...i've gotten nothing in the orb department....
seen a few complain about gear progression then watch drop all their blue items on the floor and leave thier white on the gorund and compain they dont have enough gold. Not sure whether this due to my 45K+ hours in PoE1, knowing to sell S*** to the vendor in the right or becuase I spent time READING stuff in game, but yeah a lot fo people makeing the mistake of not vendoring stuff...
Love the game, hate the progession in loot, and dont like the option to buy, becauce its not linked to progression (not earned, so it does not feel as rewarding)
Could you please do a video on support gems for skills. I'm constantly using uncut gems, trying to make sure I don't buy duplicate support gems of the ones I already have. While also trying to make sure they support the skills I'm using. An example being - I have been using the skill 'Shockwave Totem' I have cut about 12 support gems for the skill but I still don't have a support gem for it. When I hover over the support gem it shows a tab that says 'Supported Skills' and Shockwave Totem is never one of them. It's annoying the life out of me. I hope this make sense 😂
Hiw to properly change weapons? I am a warrior with a 2 handed and single handers. When i swap the weapons, it does not swap the attack type. So i change to 2 handed, but the attack move for singke handed is still on my attavk button
I'm enjoying the game, but it's hard and the drops suck. I don't know why defeating such difficult bosses gives you little to no reward at all. I've passed the first act and I'm literally still using old gear. POE 1 gave you drops as you needed it. They tuned the drops really well in POE1. I still love POE2, but I hope they fix things.
Can someone please answer these questions for me. Why does the fog keep coming back on the map even when I’ve been to the area? And where is the menu for the skills so I can look at them. I don’t mean the passives I mean the actual skills. I can’t see them to plan my build
Don't sleep on gambas. I never got into it in PoE 1, but at this stage of the game I have all the transmutes I need, vendors only refresh when you level up, good bases are very rare. Only way you can get uncommon orbs are farming some obscure strat over and over, I don't think that's fun I just want to keep pushing forward. So I've became a garbage hoover! I pick up every single thing, regularly stash them. Every once in a while I sell them for gold. I actually get twice more gold than if I were to only pick up magic and rares. It could be more back and forth but it's not as boring as farming the same place over and over again. Their item level is your level so they only need to roll well, when they do they are direct upgrades.
Magic items with 2 affixes are not enough, especially weapons. With my physical damage focus, if I roll % phys without added flat phys on regal, it's garbage. It's the same problem as in poe1, but there it was solved by having a lot of currency. Here it's just none. 1-2 regal orbs per act despite disenchanting.
As valuable your tips are, as disappointing are the item drops. Needs to farm Act1 final zone 4 times, until I had 30% cold resistance...no comment to the item and currency drops
If you're having trouble with difficulty in general or a specific boss, can't you just grind until you're over leveled for it? I mean, most top down ARPGs let you do this. Not D4, with its scaling difficulty...But most of the older ones do.
I would love to use my currency orbs more often but they drop so rarely :( I´m at the end of act 1 and only have 1 chaos orb and 2 alchemy orbs, is it normal in poe?
Its nit the act 1 boss and his abilities that is a problem for me. Its getting swarmed abd biy blocked by his ads that kill me. What CC can I do as a Witch?
I didnt find the bosses too difficult. Believe me, im not the best player, not even close, but i only needed to try one boss fight four times and that was only because y didnt understand one mechanic on his attacks. The game is fun but i'm doing something wrong or the gemling ascendencie is a bit underwhelming. The only way to level up this is by doing the trails and hoping for the best?
im having trouble picking up loot with my mouse, i have to often click a bunch and accidentally cast spells and try a bunch until i eventually pick the loot up. any tips?
Do you have a skill on left click that targets corpses? 'Cause I just encountered this exact problem for the first time when trying out a new witch and I put Unearth on the left mouse. Changing it to another button solved the problem.
"Dont hoard your item" Thats bullshit, I used all my exalts on level 25 bow expecting to get more exalts along the way. Now I'm level 45 and I still dont have an upgrade for my bow. (Only got a single exalted orb after the last craft btw)
Yep, I didn't use my currency in act 2, waited for new bases to appear, then made 3 magic bases and used all the regal/chaos orbs I had and still got nothing. Only like 10 flat damage difference.
Really appreciate you jumping into the info at 0:00. No 3 minute intro talking about what you’re going to talk about.

Didn't know you can just salvage any rune slotted gear. Thanks Tri.
I went in with high expectations and I’m still blow away by how amazing this game is!!
Having the best time of my ARPG experience on this game. Thanks a lot !
Runes will really help. I took 5 or so tries on the act 1 boss and some of that was just me not playing it very well (my successful fight was far from perfect in terms of dodging attacks) but it dawned on me afterwards that I should have used my runes because it would help a lot.
I love that your tips are very helpful yet free of spoilers ❤
thanks for the salvager bench tip, i didnt realize i should be using that to break down socketed items for the crafting material
Watching you guys play is a big help I'm glad I'm waiting to play....OM Micheal is also a good watch.
Thank you for making this its a great video!!!
I got bodied by many bosses in act 1 but the boss I cleared on 2nd try was Count Geonor. My fire Witch absolutely loved him
Amazing!!! Thank you for the tips. First arpg and honestly cant stop playing
Finally some good content from you again. Well done.
Charms singlehandedly make challenging bossfights trivial.
The first one you learn the damage type of the boss, then swap to the right charm and it becomes a breeze.
It seems that getting res to 40-50 is enough for the campaign.
Ah I couldn’t figure out how to add socket to gear, this’ll help a lot.
Thank you for helping the struggling poe1 veterans from reddit!
I hate when my crafting games have almost no crafting materials and it becomes a gambling instead.
didnt expect much but these are great tips!
playing with your dad and wife is very cuteness overload
Thanks
:)
How do I know it will be a better weapon? I can't see no stats on the weapons. It just says 'random bow' for instance.
@@alexk9295 That is only from one of the vendors. His store is a gamble on RNG of your weapons. Check the other two in the town and you will find specifics on what they sell.
@@alexk9295 Not the gamble vendor. Go to the one that disenchant and the blacksmith for visible items
@ulruc thanks!
@@alexk9295 Np. Both these vendor refresh their stock each time you gain a level so it is worth it, especially in the campaign, to take a look.
But in most games you can breeze on through hoarding everything.
I saw enemies using fire skills so I found some stuff with fire Res, then the next area had a few lightning damage monsters.... But it still came out okay. Easier to watch for and avoid one damage type.
This helped alot thanks, still not understanding point of weapon skill points, from understanding it's not adding points.
But i get less weapon skill points then i do actual skill points.
Sonovabich! I was just leaving the socketed whites on the ground w the other whites
Tip: item names on ground that have white dots are socketed
For all wanting and easier and faster game I have a recommendation. Its called Path of Exile 1.
I just started a new character which is currently lvl 18. I have 2 pieces that have a total of 31% rarity items. It's been showing!!
I didn't know about the bench and I'm rocking it on Act 3....just wow, ty very much. I think that's going to be a big miss for a lot of players.
Thanks for the tips.
Any word coming up on quality Passive Skill Tree builders or Item Filters?
I think one big reason that people are finding it too hard is that normally in an arpg you pick a skill or specific theme to build, but poe2 doesn't seem designed that way, you have to use the skills appropriate for the circumstance. I think build diversity will be limited compared to poe1.
You have 2 weapon sets, 3 skills for each set, you can do alot
Go down the elevator and instantly surrounded.
level 72 monk now, enjoy my character, built a cast on shock comet monk with 7 power charges + charged staff,
had a lot of fun during the second run of the campaign,
got a bit turned off now regarding mapping today because
i keep encountering these shotgunning ranged mob packs that can
1 shot even though i have good gear/ defensives and react to them, just annoying, 1 wrong move and it's over.
also, mappping = die and restart the whole map, so yeah, definitely more multiplayer friendly than solo, in poe 1 you had 6 portals, in poe 2... you have 1 if you're solo :|
im watching a bit so its in my history. im buying POE 2 tomorrow.. will watch this to help me cause i never played POE, and even the starting class idk wtf to choose. 🤣
Act 1 boss was tough I died 10 times maybe. But I went back and farmed gear with cold resistance I went from 10% to 73% and killed the boss first try
Is the 1h mace attack a skill on the weapon or is it a regular mace attack with a stun support gem?
struggled as monk, bouyght a nice rare from vendor which i bet no one does, game isnt meant to drop 5 rares every monster. now im flying through. basically using one skill and clearing atm
I did see a complaint about flasks dropping like crazy still, which I definitely have to agree with in my own experience and hope this will be switched to drop maybe more currency. No reason so many flasks need to drop anymore when we only use one of each. Anyone else noticing this?
You can craft flasks, and getting more recovery or less charges with passive charge gain per second is good
Tri can you make a quick video about weapon sets? I have a ranger in which I don’t use the second set because I don’t see the benefit?
Also spirit gems, they seem to need a higher level of int, are these gems meant for caster classes?
Act 1 boss was f*ing awesome 😯
Hi, do you know what the icons below the monster health bar mean? I found this*, but I still don't understand all the icons. The flame, lightning, armor, and flake are clear... but there are more. Thanks.
*Silver icon means positive resistnance, Gold icon means high positive resistance (I guess around 40% plus), red is neagative (the only negative one). No icon for 0 resistance.
i'm a bit curious how the conversation goes when you told your dad that he's doing it wrong/not optimal lol.
the problem with the 1 point about dont hord gems, im halfway through act 3, i have yet to get a chaos orb, i gotten only 4 regals and 3 exaulted orbs, (3/3 were all from A1) thats it...i've gotten nothing in the orb department....
seen a few complain about gear progression then watch drop all their blue items on the floor and leave thier white on the gorund and compain they dont have enough gold.
GREAT tips!
Hiw to properly change weapons? I am a warrior with a 2 handed and single handers. When i swap the weapons, it does not swap the attack type. So i change to 2 handed, but the attack move for singke handed is still on my attavk button
tip #8:
Your default attack is strong, use it
I'm enjoying the game, but it's hard and the drops suck. I don't know why defeating such difficult bosses gives you little to no reward at all. I've passed the first act and I'm literally still using old gear. POE 1 gave you drops as you needed it. They tuned the drops really well in POE1. I still love POE2, but I hope they fix things.
Honor system in trials…pure frustration.
Giant shrimp?
Magic items with 2 affixes are not enough, especially weapons. With my physical damage focus, if I roll % phys without added flat phys on regal, it's garbage. It's the same problem as in poe1, but there it was solved by having a lot of currency. Here it's just none. 1-2 regal orbs per act despite disenchanting.
Struggling on ascending trial. Mechanic is trash as melee monk. Freeze everything so far except that damn boss to not get hit.
As valuable your tips are, as disappointing are the item drops. Needs to farm Act1 final zone 4 times, until I had 30% cold resistance...no comment to the item and currency drops
Sorry -stupid question. Does the game have party voice chat? If so does it work cross-platform.
If you're having trouble with difficulty in general or a specific boss, can't you just grind until you're over leveled for it?
I mean, most top down ARPGs let you do this. Not D4, with its scaling difficulty...But most of the older ones do.
Bosses feel great, besides one or two with broken hitboxes, but the lenght of the areas, and how NOT rewarding they are is alot to work with for GGG.
Finally someone noticing the real problem, and not just "smh poe1 andies".
I would love to use my currency orbs more often but they drop so rarely :(
I´m at the end of act 1 and only have 1 chaos orb and 2 alchemy orbs, is it normal in poe?
Its nit the act 1 boss and his abilities that is a problem for me. Its getting swarmed abd biy blocked by his ads that kill me. What CC can I do as a Witch?
0:52 What does it mean when the icon is flashing, but I explored the entire map and still can't find it? 😮
Can someone tell me how to setup co-op and controller settings
Didn't really show how to get more CC. Through skill points / support gems?
Weapon sets? Why have I not heard of this? Did I miss a tutorial in the game?
I didnt find the bosses too difficult. Believe me, im not the best player, not even close, but i only needed to try one boss fight four times and that was only because y didnt understand one mechanic on his attacks. The game is fun but i'm doing something wrong or the gemling ascendencie is a bit underwhelming. The only way to level up this is by doing the trails and hoping for the best?
Is it me or does gear with sockets not drop often enough?
I’m 99% sure you just get chatgpt to write a vague script.
im having trouble picking up loot with my mouse, i have to often click a bunch and accidentally cast spells and try a bunch until i eventually pick the loot up. any tips?
Do you have a skill on left click that targets corpses? 'Cause I just encountered this exact problem for the first time when trying out a new witch and I put Unearth on the left mouse. Changing it to another button solved the problem.
You can add a button requirement. I bound it to F, and have to hold F while left clicking on an item to pick up.
@@Kuzka_ kk thx I’ll look into that
"Dont hoard your item"
Thats bullshit, I used all my exalts on level 25 bow expecting to get more exalts along the way.
If you are playing warrior and yout build is dogshit like mine, just slap some block on there put on a shield and face tank EVERYTHING in the game
Well I applied to ur guild - how do i see if i got an invite?
I found the bosses way easier solo than co op.
Yeah it's crazy easy solo compared to even 2 people. Not sure why.
what’s the boss everyone is trippin' about ?
Play multi player- sad noise from me that doesnt have any poe 2 friends
IMO the fading is not enough for the map
