Als kind zijnde was het voor mij altijd een groot mysterie hoe het rondje bij eindpunt Flevopark eruit zou zien. Natuurlijk had ik toen gewoon aan de bestuurder kunnen vragen of ik mocht blijven zitten maar daar was ik kennelijk te verlegen voor. Nu vele jaren later heb ik het dus kunnen ontdekken met behulp van deze video. Tof.

Good dag Minjheer! Many thanks for the ride…I was hoping we’d get a glance of Flevoland where the Radio Nederland had its giant steerable transmitting antennas. I really enjoyed the ride and have subscribed. I almost got arrested while taking photos at the old tram depot opposite the high security prison (I didn’t know it was a prison) but when the
Police Officers spoke to me they realised I was yet another eccentric tram loving Englishman! All smiles afterwards! Is that depot still there next to the river/canal? There used to be an excellent Haaring shop there too and the owner would clean and fillet the Haaring while you waited and chop the onions too. It’s a pity the Dutch style fresh herring aren’t available here but I can get pickled herring from Marks & Spencer’s! Thanks again and I look forward to many more rides. Incidentally, the tram passed the Swisshotel at Damrack….our favourite Hotel…ideal for Centraal station and the trams ! Best wishes from Rob In Bournemouth , England where we shall soon be seeing a lot of Dutch car number plates as Easter and the holiday season approaches…I wish your countrymen would bring trams back to Bournemouth …we lost them here over 80 years ago although…like Arnhem we did have trolley buses until 1969.

Hello there. Flevoland is something completely different from Flevopark. You have an interesting story. The depot is indeed still next to the Amstel river. But there are more depots in Amsterdam. Thank you for commenting on the video.
