I was prediabetic and 20 lbs overweight. My PCP recommended Mounjaro 2.5. I took 2 doses and then stopped. My blood sugar went alarmingly low, ended up in the ER, they said I have reactive hypoglycemia. I had severe constipation, food would just not digest in my stomach, acid reflux, dizziness and so on. I decided I can do this on my own and I did. 11 weeks later A1C is 5.4 from5.9, lost 13Lbs.I cut the carbs and no sugar, walking 4 miles/day and just eating healthier, smaller portions and also intermittent fasting. I don't want to rely on semaglutides for the rest of my life and live with the fear of what the side effects of this drug will eventually do to my body.

Hi how long did it take you to see changes when you were off? I’m doing exactly what you said after getting off and I guess I’m getting overwhelmed with all the rapid results this medicine give to people. I am A1c 6 and I’ve been keeping my glucose level and I’m ketosis leveled. I guess I’m just missing working out more. But I might be on keto flu because I’m exhausted.

@@CocoEnyy I went "cold turkey" on cutting the sugar and carbs. I am not on a full keto, I mean, I cannot eat very fatty foods, I eat protein and veggies, eggs, some cheese, salads with grilled chicken, grilled fish. I make tortillas with almond and lupin flour, they are delicious. I started to see weight loss after 2-3 weeks. I average 1-1.5 lbs/week. I believe a more drastic loss is not sustainable or healthy. Be patient and consistent. Don't give up, this is the secret. Basically, changing the way you eat for good. It is amazing how great I feel, no more joint pain, no more feeling sluggish. I'm down 15 lbs since I last posted here. Good luck!!!!! Oh, and my A1C is 5.3. My PCP was amazed when I told him I did it without Mounjaro.

Was on Semaglutide for 5 months. Felt great during that time. Had started it to help with very bad inflammation from chronic health issues. It worked great & lost 35lbs. Had terrible constipation the entire time! At month 3, I started with nausea & no appetite at all. Then suddenly it kick-started my Sjorens in a bad way, then came the dizziness & headache for a solid month w/out relief. Then all of a sudden I got terrible vertigo, terrible weakness all over & heart pounding. Within 4 days I couldn't walk or talk. I've been down for 6wks now. Wasn't until wks 4 I started to get a little strength back. This week I'm stronger but still really struggling. I'm doing everything I can to regain my health naturally & get this medicine out of my body. Very dangerous medicine. Since this happened I have heard from a half doz. health providers & about a dozen ppl that have experienced similar stories to mine. It's been so awful. Never want to go thru this again & do not want anyone else to suffer the way I have. Stay far away from these meds.... Too dangerous! My Dr has since stopped prescribing it & has called all her colleagues to do the same.

3 months on Ozempic. I have combined that with a low carb diet and also intermittent fasting. Lost over 30 lbs and my A1C dropped from 8.5 to 5.6! I have had no real side effects except a bloated feeling if I eat too much or too fast presumably because my stomach doesn't empty as quickly. I don't crave food or feel hungry the way I used to. I've been taking mounjaro since sept. Yes, I have a lot of side effects and it's different for each dose. 2.5 was fine, 5mg I couldn't get out of bed for fatigue for 3 days, stomach cramps, nausea...I almost stopped taking it. The 7.5 was alright, nothing to complain about. I stayed on that for 4 months. The 10mg makes me start my period every week. It's a shortage right now, so I had to go up to the 12.5 for a week until they could get some 10s in stock. That dose made my skin feel like pins and needles. I couldn't sleep, the sheets hurt, my clothes hurt, nobody could touch me....I'm thinking of staying on the 10s a while. That was horrible.
Now, as far as the weight loss, I've only lost 26 lbs because I had already cut out everything I could. I was down to 85% carnivore and dark greens which I am still doing. It just doesn't come off of people under 200 like it does with larger people, but I already knew that, I've battles this my whole life.
On the other hand, my sister who topped out at 305 is also taking mounjaro, just passed her 100# mark last week and she's catching up to me.
My MIL started wegovy last month and has dropped 25+ lbs. That really scares me for her. Of course she is loving it, who wouldn't? But it will soon come to a hault and she will eventually gain it back once she gets off of it.
I can tell when mine starts to wear off because I can't quit eating! I know I'm not taking in enough or drinking enough, but thankfully I don't buy or make any snacks too bad so I don't have the junk food to grab.
It's been a roller coaster, but I'm not to quick to recommend it without the warning tags with it!

@Holly J Not too many. There are some gastric upsets, but I found that was when I over ate. For me, it wasn't much, but I was a one meal a day kinda person prior to starting. I caution you about water intake. When you thought you had drank enough water, drink more, and it can be dehydrating due to fluid shifts in cell absorption. Not everyone is going to lose 30 lbs in 2 months or less. My doctor was VERY surprised by this. That's 8% of body fat gone almost instantly. It's fastest he has seen anyone lose. Because of the dramatic loss, I will be undergoing hormonal testing and speaking with an endocrinologist as we both are certain. This is a metabolic issue for me. I lost my weight on only 0.25mg. I kept increasing every month as instructed but did not need to. Once I took 1mg, I felt awful. I was tired and had more gastro upset ( I do have GERDs). I dropped back to 0.25mg and still continued to lose rapidly. My advice would be to stay on one dose as long as possible until it stops working and then bump up. You should only lose about 2lbs per week for a healthy weight loss. This is NOT a miracle drug. A lot of people have side effects. In addition be patient with yourself accept the small successes. Do not push yourself too hard or too fast because you think you should have lost more by a certain (unrealistic) time frame. Good luck on your journey.

Hey! Hi! Honestly, for the price of this stuff, you can simply change your diet and lose fat (I use that term, as "lose weight" isn't quite right). This is a dangerous and lazy way of trying to lose fat. Know what I just did? I wisked together a balsamic vinaigrette for my side salad with dinner tonight, which will also include home made gyro (lamb) meat over a little of my spiced brown basmati (very well washed and cooked with cumin, turmeric, red chiil powder, Celtic sea salt, bay leaves, a little butter, eevo, water).. A meal like this will fill you up and knock fat off you. Barring fat gain and insulin resistance from meds, it's about changing your diet. These meds are dangerous, and a lazy way of trying to lose the fat. Now, go have some home made hummus (topped with a mix of cumin, paprika, sumac and eevo), with carrot sticks. That was my lunch. Then I went out walking and doing stuff like shopping, the post office, etc. People can make any excuses they want to, but until you change your diet first and foremost, you are full of crap. Take it easy. (Sorry for being so long winded.)
