Hey man I don't comment a lot on UA-cam but I just wanted to say thanks for the videos. I've been dealing with a lot of stress and anxiety, and these videos with Al have really helped. Thanks again and I look forward to more 🙏
I just randomly stumbled on the channel. My impression of Al is that when he was told in school that energy wasn't free, he thought to himself, "not if you know physics." Using gravity and thermodynamics to replace pumps reduces wear and tear, and reduces system complexity. Truly genius.
This is what I think about when I think about living off of grid. I think more about returning to community rather than the actual experience. The idea that we would turn to one another again and help each other and get to know each other. This is such a kind, sweet video.
Al certainly has things figured out, good on you for not letting this mans knowledge die with him. He is truly a treasure trove. I am truly jealous of this life, if the world stops he just goes on.
Diego And Al The old wood stoves were the first convection ovens because of the way they were designed they're circulate the heat around the box and Diego you can take a hot water tank or if you could find a cast iron one you can line that with copper tubing that they use in an air conditioner can an outside air conditioner and hooked that up and have the water go through and it will heat it heat it up from the stove it will naturally circulate come in from the bottom and go out the top into a holding tank My grandparents they had the water jacket on their stove on the outside then they had a hundred gallon hot water tank that shut off to the side there and it was a tank inside of a tank and it was insulated with asbestos cuz that's what they used in the old days and the inside tank was stainless in the outside tank was just steel they would heat up the water and it would last up to 2 days before it cooled down to where it was uncomfortable if you were taking a bath just something for thought
Great video. Love to see you and your friends living the "Off grid live style". Al's setup is amazing. Much love from Michael all the way from Denmark 🇩🇰
This one of the best videos on UA-cam for me. Thats a really Big title to give and have. But this video have all the things I like. Thank you so much for this video❤❤❤❤
These videos are a wonderful testimony to a life lived well. I love your videos. Al's been doing it much better than we did. I baked bread in a wood burning stove for 17 years and over 30 years later I still long for wood heat again. Makes the best baked goods. You get to know your wood. I heated an old iron on the top for ironing things I sewed on the treddle machine. Very remote homestead living in BC, near Big Bar Canyon.
Al is one smart cookie , He would be the one to talk to about going off grid , He has a beautiful property with water source to use for the cabin , tree,s to use for firewood, His wood burner stove is Epic ! and so much more . Love how he has a couple outhouses great idea I feel. love the sauna and other building's . The interior is cozy, love where his kitchen table sits next to the large windows overlooking the water how epic, Al would definitely be an individual i could talk to all day. One would never know how old Al is . Al is living a very healthy lifestyle . I love this guy. London, Ontario, Canada.
You guys have an awesome relationship, learn what you can from Al wile you can. people like him with the knowledge he possesses are few and far between
Love this series! I'm moving to the PNW soon and this gives me a ray of hope to continue pushing to get up north and live closer to this type of lifestyle. Amazing. Thank you Diego and Al
I have only gotten half way through this video, and watched part of another, but what stateis this? Looks very similar to where I live in Vermont. The one thing Al needs, I think, is a good hand pump for his holding pond when water is low. Just to get water to the house. Just a thought. Many live just like this where I am from and live. Back in the woods in Vermont. Love the channel so far.👍 Should set up a go fund me or something for Al. I never have donated money, but thats because I haven't seen anything really worthy in my mind. Id love to donatw towards a hand pump or whatever necessity for Al. I appreciate his life and how he chooses to live it.
We are in Washington. I'm from New Hampshire & my 1st wife was from Vermont. I have a new hand pump that I've had for 20 yrs - never needed it. But thanks
I remember going to Mountain St Helens back in '97 and loved the nature around there. Spectacular and wild. Congrats on all of you who get to enjoy that beautiful place on earth.
Al is the very best kind of friend you could have. Do you ever drop off a care package of food for him? Excellent videos and I look forward to the next one.
Absolutely enjoyed. Thanks for such enjoyable content. I’m so glad you are taking time to document Al’s alternative living…what looks like great living! Can’t wait for more.
Another amazing video. Al's a legend. We can learn so much from each other. Thanks for this inspiring video. Keep up the amazing work. Have the greatest day ever, love and peace.
What an absolute gent I’m loving als posts from the uk and I’m inspired by his way of life I’d love to live off grid what a fantastic neighbour to have ❤ you have a beautiful life al
Where all geting slower al so dont feel bad lol & its a good thing you do to help each other out.thats a nice cook stove and hot water set up hes all set up
Love the doggies and future bit at the end 😂. A very peaceful and informative video. I’ve actually never been up to that part of his spring. Really neat screen system.
The water situation could be improved by installing a tank above the roof but still taking advantage of the gravity feed. The tank would have a float switch so that when you use a certain amount, the water would flow into the tank at the flow it can manage, but allow you to have good tap flow. Great video and inspirational for me 😊
Really good to watch these videos Diego. I have been doing remote camping in the Thompson Nicola Region (Kamloops BC area) on my own and have staying out longer and longer. Eventually I would like to make the same move you did. I look forward to more videos
@diegotrieshard hey Diego tell Al i said "take me to the Magistrate" he'll know what I mean. I don't know him and i used to live in that county. Heard all about "Al" and always admired him for saying that that day. Thanks, Eddie
Very cool video. Wonder if AL gathers truffles, mushrooms, ginseng and deer for food. I didn't see a garden so maybe he just drives into town for groceries.
Poor Al trying to live a beautiful peaceful life yet dealing with the effects on nature we have caused. I too want to break away into this life in the next few years, before I am 50 for sure.

OH, that's on the Fraser River.
I too have a good old friend called Al, met him when I started doing traffic control, taught me more than anything they taught us doing my ticket.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. THANK YOU AL FOR SHOWING US AROUND‼️ I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED IT‼️‼️ Vinny 🇺🇸
