Don't forget to long rest (camp) all the story in your party gets pushed forward in camp, and a bunch of other good stuff, is something I wish I did on my first go.
@@Fazolive Really hoping you'll keep playing BG3. I played this after Cyberpunk 2077, and I was surprised by how hooked it got me. I ended up with 500 hours as of yesterday 😅 (3 custom Tav playthroughs, 2 Dark Origin runs, 1 Bard!Astarion run) My best advice is to not worry about missing things or making mistakes the first run. This game is HUGE, it's designed to be variable enough so that different runs can play out and feel like a brand new game. Even with 100s of hours under my belt I still keep finding new ways to play or areas of the map I've missed. It actually is rewarding in a sense, if you miss something your first couple of runs and it comes in clench on a higher difficulty (I found a shortcut my honor mode run that I completely overlooked on easier difficulties, it felt great 😆) As far as combat goes, it's equal parts RNG and strategy. There are things you can do to increase your odds for good rolls (archers benefit from high ground, rogues benefit from shadows - mages with obscuring spells like fog and darkness can work as buffers for rogues, magic can be crazy op - play around with how different elements play with and against each other - cast ice on someone burning or fire on someone chilled for example. Monk is a great beginner class, but also most Charisma classes are extremely beginner friendly (since most of the game hinges on making friends and influencing people, Bards, Sorcerers, and Warlocks can feel overpowered. By act 2 you can literally get away from boss fights TELLING the bosses to kill themselves. and. they. will.)
You should absolutely keep playing this game! It's got a bit of a learning curve, but it's so worth it. Just remember to look at everything, talk to everybody and it'll start to make sense. Take your time and explore everywhere! You can't really make a mistake, but your choices will radically change the story.
Fun fact: Last year, Baldurs Gate 3 won more "Game of the Year" awards than any other game in history. I think youll like it once you get into it. Its the deepest narrative choice game ever made
The awards were well earned, since this rather small development studio brought a game with so much depth to it, meaningful choices, great story, great quests and great cinematic. Things that much bigger studios were not able to do.
"I'm not gonna just reach for her artifact." You're more honorable than my mother, then. She tried to steal the artifact, then told Shadowheart to get lost when she asked to join the party. I was losing my mind laughing the whole time.
Just take your time don't worry about rushing through or taking too long...fans of this game that will watch you play this will understand...its very complex and strategic, I got 300 hrs and I'm still slow and methodic in combat..just enjoy don't worry about pressure, some take 80 hrs to beat it some take 200
I’m 200 😞 I’m the one sticking her head into every vase going “there’s gotta be something in it this time” and taking my party on leisurely strolls through the woods
@@Fazolive it should its game that is closest to free choices of all the games only downside is that most good characters are too weak to opose you if you start doing evil choices and narative isnt letting you be all out evil from the beging but its still worth playing how you want
@@matejmatuska6700Completley disagree here about being evil, this game has the best evil experience I’ve ever seen. Saying people are too weak to oppose you is just well it is a game but even at that you can easily get overwhelmed in combat if you’re not sure what you’re doing especially higher difficulty. And you can be all out evil from the beginning lmao you can literally kill everyone you see it’s just that not every interaction has a super evil way to do it but at least most actually do.
@@jo0rd73 I mean in the sense of being able to make evil organization or being the mastermind which you cant do dnd has 3 evil aligments You can only be neutral evil or chaotic evil there is no choice to just command peaple to kill each other or change aliances for instance you cant force minsc or jaheira to kill inocents and still be on your side same as shadowheard or astorion or force them to end themselfs
I’ve got almost 2k hours in this game and have consumed probably about that many hours of playthroughs and content but I still love seeing people discover it for the first time. It’s a bummer you felt rushed by the trial timer but I hope you decide to keep playing because it’s such a joy!
Currently doing an Origin Astarion playthrough, now over 450 hours in this game. I strongly recommend buying it because that trial really doesn't do it justice. While it is definitely overwhelming without D&D knowledge, a little bit of reading can help alot, hover over certain spells and items to get more details on what they do, and always enable tooltips. Looking forward to more episodes, I love the more blind playthroughs
“We’re gonna try something different and go with Elf.” Picks the most played race 😂 Don’t worry about it, just play which race/class looks most fun to you. They’re all perfectly good for just about everything except maybe honour mode challenge runs. So, for in combat, the bar along the bottom is your resource pool. For monk, ki is the resource used for monk-specific things like your flurry of blows ability. The green ones cost your action point, the orange ones cost your bonus action point. The yellow one is how far you can move per turn, which is set to meters by default but can be changed to feet if you prefer. You get action/bonus action/movement points every turn, but your ki points only refresh when you use a short rest in your R2 wheel or long rest at camp, which can also be found in the R2 wheel. Also, there’s a setting to change the triangle to end turn from a press to a hold. Aside from that, if you have another character next in the turn order, you can actually press L2 to change characters back to the first one and press triangle again to take the rest of their turn back.
@@Fazolive and you have to manually lvl up if you want to not die you should level up as soon as you see you can when yelow arrow shows on portraid and never wait its most important part while you are new to the game along with that if you load save please dont use potions or healing spels before you run out of short rests or the battle is almost lost and multiclass into wizards becouse spells are way more woth it than just attacks only problem is your inteligence which you should try to make better either by redoing character or when you get the choice change for few gold curency
@@Fazolive Definitely yes! Even if you're not really familiar with CRPGs/turned based RPGs, Baldur's Gates is a "must play" for any player. It's an amazing game, a masterpiece which deserve every single award it earned last year!
Oh yeah, Fazo! Same choice! I too played Balder's Gate 3 right after Cyberpunk, and it hella tripped me out. Like I'm effed again with something in my head that's gonna change my char into something else. LOL. I've done 3 playthroughs, you're gonna love this game, it's different but worth it.
@Fazolive you're right! Balder's Gate is in the Forgotten Realms setting, part of the Dungeon and Dragons games. There's the traditional Table Top RPG (TTRPG) and what you're playing now, the Computer RPG or CRPG, but it's kinda old-fashioned to call it that. BG3 is one of the best and newest CRPGs, but there's a bunch out there, like the Wasteland series, it's like this game's play with a Fallout-like flavor. Balder's Gate 3's such a great way to learn though.
I'm always delighted to see new players trying out BG3! 😃 Have fun!!! Even though I've finished the game fully only once, it was SOOO worth it... ❤️🔥 I can't wait to continue my second playthrough and see it to the end... 💚
Make sure you explore the first act because most of the companions are found in this area and yes you can miss out on having certain companions by missing them.
I’m 1200 hours into this game and love to watch new players discover it. I’d love to see you play this from the start without having to rush, although I totally understand why you had to. Edit: all the companions have really compelling stories and the replay mileage is ridiculous. Def gonna check out part 2!
I'm playing this game for the first time too. At first, I wasn't into it because it was very overwhelming and I thought the game was alittle "janky". But i pushed through and now i realized this game is like a big chess board with Magic and I'm in love with the game now. I haven't beaten it but have 100+ hours and still loving every minute of the game.
@@NeoWeaponog aw man so happy to hear that it definitely feels overwhelming at first but honestly this game is really dope and I’m definitely looking forward to playing it some more!
you should buy it dude. can tell by the expression on your face you found it pretty cool. it's a long ass game, but I've beaten it and it never got old for me. my only suggestion is not listening to anyone else for your first play through... just take your time and make a character you truly vibe with and play it on balanced. that way you can really make no wrong choices as far as being able to beat it, and since you are playing something you truly vibe with you will 100% have a blast since the game shapes itself around the character you are vibing with. if you end up doing another playthrough on a more difficult setting THAT is when you listen to advice from the community.
Damn, from Cyberpunk to Baldur's Gate? You got good taste bro. I bought this game when it was in early early access lol. Can't wait to see how your playthrough goes. Not only do the choices matter more in this game, but there's a good chance to fail some things due to how the game is (die rolls) So if things don't go as you expected, just keep rolling with it. Some rolls happen in the background, like when the icon popped up on the top left at 15:08 If your inventory is full, you can send things to camp, where there's a chest that holds everything you send. Each round of combat, you have 3 things you can do. Movement, which includes jumping. Actions, like attacking, using an ability, picking up weapons, or casting spells. And Bonus Actions, like drinking potions, casting some spells, and actions like Disengage (let's you move away from an enemy without getting attacked) Dash (Doubles movement) and Shove, the most overpowered ability in this game. Shoving people off cliffs is a good way to get rid of enemies. You're a monk and they're agile af. So use the terrain to your advantage. That includes liquids on the ground. Oils and volatile fluids are flammable, water can conduct electricity, and burning ground will hurt you. Healing is a bit strange. You can use healing potions and spells, but those are limited. You mainly heal with short rests and long rests. You get 2 short rests but they don't heal you all the way and only restore the use of some spells. Long rests restores everything but effectively ends the day. If you don't have enough movement to get somewhere, you can sometimes jump to that location at the cost of less movement. Those tentacle-mouthed creatures in the beginning are mind flayers. Absolutely terrifying. They captured you all to turn you into mind flayers, as that's how they reproduce, but the dragons and their riders partially destroyed the ship, allowing y'all to escape. If you can manage to kill that devil with the flaming sword, you can take his weapons. It's really good, but as a monk, you won't be able to use it without picking the right feat in a few levels. In Lae'zel's hands, its devastating.
1:11:01 I'm just saying - the necrotic aura is a bug and it made me laugh. It's not supposed to happen when Gale is alive. Still, it's funny, and there's just something beautiful seeing people play this game for their first time.
Cool to see a new person checking out BG3. Just a small advice: game is filled with staff and lore, cutscenes and choices. Optimal way to approach it is to do "how you feel it is right to do". Don't hesitate to really role-play your character in dialogs. Also it would be rewarded if you'll be able to take a time to figure out the interface and how to manage characters (I mean, what does the main action and bonus action mean, etc.). Above all else, be mindful of your choices in game (especially dialogs), cause in BG3 (unlike in Cyberpunk) each second line in a dialog can turn the tables and might lead to an immediate outcome or to minor or very significant changes in your future adventure. I say that as a person with 600+ hours in both of these games ^^ Have fun! And waiting for upcoming episodes :)
I think you like this and all I have to say is Welcome to D&D ,and i look forward to seeing you play. Just remember if you want to know if you can do something, you can always try. and never forget you always get 1 action, 1 bonus actions and 1 movement for each characters turn.🙂
The game is worth every penny. Multiple replayable with multiple outcomes depending on your decisions you make in the game. Also clearing situations in combat has multiple different ways, I saw people doing things in combat I could never ever imagine in my wildest dreams that this what they have done is possible and works. According to what I just said = One tip I will give you..The flaming two handed sword which the Devil commander swings against that Mindflayer is easy to get...Shadowheart has a spell in her spellbook which you have to activate before entering the helm named "command" (during combat you can´t switch spells from the spellbook)..with that spell she can command the Devil to drop his sword which then can be picked up from the floor while just passing by.= Very nice weapon for Leazel or any weapon fighter in your party for the early levels. And before taking a healing potion outside of combat take a short rest in order to heal..you have 2 short rests per day then you have to take a long rest in order to reactivate your spell slots or in case of a Monk your Ki-points and those 2 short rests. And during long rest you also have to interact with your companions in order to get to know them better which matters according to their approval rate scale which you want to have high. And yes on PC everything is way more neatly arranged in order to play from the get go...but to play with gamepad is just a question of how long it takes till getting familiar with what the buttons do
I’ve played this game multiple times and it never occurred to me to have Shadowheart command the Devil to drop his sword. I know what I’m doing next playthrough!
You asked if this game is based on Dungeons and Dragons? Yes. Everything about this game is heavily based on Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition. This game pretty much lets you do whatever you want.
As you asked, yeah, this game is part of Dungeons and Dragons (D&D). D&D is the game itself (the game concept and rules, although there are several versions of D&D over the decades), the setting (the world, the people, the stories, the artifacts, the countries, the famous characters, etc.) is Forgotten Realms. The first two Baldur's Gates games were released a very long time ago, but you don't need to play them to enjoy this game. The rules of Baldur's Gate 3 are a little different from normal D&D games (they added some stuff and changed a couple things), but it's still pretty similar. And yeah, D&D is normally a tabletop role-playing game; not quite a board game, because technically you don't even need a board to play. You can play D&D with just some dice, a pencil and paper, and your words, or you can make it more tactical by adding in maps and tokens. If you ever do play the tabletop game, there's no right or wrong way to do it, and it's not really about "winning;" in fact, it's better not to get to attached to a single idea of what the game should be, since the people you play with might have different ideas, especially your DM (dungeon master; basically the equivalent to the narrator you hear speaking in this game). But it's a lot of fun. Anyway, hope you enjoy! Just like D&D, there's not necessarily a right or wrong way to play this game.
BG3 is a dope game and if you buy it and do a full playthrough I seriously recommend doing the Dark Urge origin first. It's an origin character but it's fully customizable so you can play as any race or class same as a custom character, it just has campaign long quest tied to the character where you make certain decisions along the way. Dark Urge has a strong tie in to the main story and imo is the best way to experience the campaign for the first time alongside learning what the Dark Urge is. Also, next major patch for BG3 should be coming this month and official mod support is coming to consoles too.
That's just me and every one do whatever they want (that's the whole point of this kind of games^^), but for a very first playthrough I wouldn't recommend taking an origin character and even less the Dark Urge 😁
@@lekillerfou Same, I did a custom my first, DA my second and custom my third. I haven't yet played a canon Origin, but I'm tempted to do a dark Shar run, it seems like a challenge to a goody-two-shoes like me.
@@lekillerfou I recommend Dark Urge because that origin has direct ties to the story versus Tav that's more roleplay oriented, if that makes sense. With Dark Urge, you have your own story unfold alongside the companions with their sidequests and narratively it just feels like all the characters, including your own character, grows throughout the story when you play Dark Urge while Tav is more of an outsider observing everyone else's stories.
@@Fazolive The Origin characters are basically like the main characters and have questlines, while Tav(Tav is the default custom player name), the start you chose, doesn't. Dark Urge specifically was originally the player's main character that also doubled as a custom character, but instead they made it so that Tav is basically a blank canvas for those that mainly want to roleplay their own backgrounds since Dark Urge has a story tied to it(though you can still roleplay if you choose that Origin). Btw, in the character creation menu all the origin characters have a little speech they give to introduce you to them and give a hint of their story. If you buy the game you should listen to them.
24:09 you’re picking up the fundamentals for gameplay really well, and I’ve watched a lot of playthroughs, so don’t worry about when you get to something really hard, cause I’m watching how you put things together & you’re A+
I started this game over so many times until I understood how to play! ( I'm an oldie ) I'm loving it and on my second real playthrough - I'm sure you'll get as addicted as the rest of us -
oooo I love seeing more people giving bg3 a try! Larian studios makes really amazing CRPGS. Enjoy the journey! Also no need to be sorry for trying something new. The game can be a lot to take in if you have never played a crpg before.
This game is definitely overwhelming if you haven't played anything like it before. Especially since you didn't have much time to take it all in. But you did a great job making progress anyway!
A gaming channel that plays RPGs?? That isn’t a streamer? Who actually puts efforts into editing their video??? Dawg they don’t make em like you anymore ❤
Just saw this in my recommendations!! So awesome to see new people experiencing these kinds of games. Will def keep following your journey to Baldur's Gate!
This game made me actually like turn based its worth diving deep into and once you finish start a new campaign make new choices theres so much you can do
This game has a big learning curve if you haven’t played dnd before, it took until my third or fourth play through to actually reach the end of the game 😂 but now that I’ve learned how to actually play the game it’s became one of my all time favourites.
Just some tips (I'm only halfway through the video, so apologies if you figured this out already) The yellow bar at the bottom is your movement. If you want to move closer as a major action, click the feet with wings in your attack wheel. Take your time and look through the attack wheel and check the damage for each attack. It takes some getting used to but you will get it. I kept ending my turn all the time by accident. Part of the learning process. I hope you get the full game!
Great video man, love to see you're enjoying the different style of game. Dont worry about length or nothing and just have fun. You're doing well for a noob. You probably wouldn't have died if you had leveled-up before the fight. I always recommend playing on PC but a controller is fine too, you just have to learn the menus and the mechanics. Subbed for the next one 👍
Oh man a full playthrough of this game would be epic! I love seeing new people getting into this game :) im currently on my third playthrough this year and it's fun every time ive gone thru it
Also monk was my first character so this is pretty great lol I would recommend going into the menu and reading the tool tips if you miss stuff or don't understand a mechanic. For monk wisdom and dexterity are your 2 main stats that your class is built on, so you should focus on those. Don't rush and investigate things as you walk around cause you find some really cool stuff that you and your teammates can use in and out of combat
I put my brother on this game, I love watching people play it with fresh eyes. Just take your time, maybe do some light reading, experiment and have fun 😌
Baldur's Gate III really is one of those games that just plays better on a PC with a keyboard and mouse setup. The game controller system controls make it way too easy to accidentally do things you don't mean to, make the display clunkier and harder to use. It has too many complicated controls, buttons and options that all need to be displayed simultaneously to work efficiently and intuitively with a game controller UI. Being able to mouse over (hover on) buttons to read the description of what they do is so unbelievably helpful.
For sure take your time and have fun! No need to rush, the BG3 fandom loves watching so you don’t need to hurry anything up. We’re all here for tips and tricks if you need us!
Yeah I've almost finished this game in multiplayer with my gf. It is amaazing. A lot to learn for sure, but SO worth it. The voice acting, the characters, all the options. The amount of work that has gone into making this game is astounding.
Excited to watch more from you playing through this game! I'm waiting for the mods update for console to drop so I can do more runs after already 270 hours with the game. Spore druid full playthrough was one of my all time favorite things to do ever in video gaming.
Hey just found your channel! Great energy great channel! BG3 is one of my all time favorite game I can’t wait to watch your playthrough! Subbing FOR SURE! Keep it up!
@@Fazolive I think most ppl do the first time through lol. i know i was anxious & worried about every new creature I met coz i knew NOTHING about DnD my first playthrough. I was ready to throw hands every second haha.
i have over 700 hours in this game and i love seeing people play it for the first time. it can be a bit overwhelming at first but once you learn the shit, it's pretty fire how much freedom they give you. if you can think of something, there's probably a 98% chance you can do it. my favorite game of all time.
Loving your reaction so far! The game can be super confusing so don’t feel bad for not knowing what’s going on. Also, not sure if you’re playing console or pc, but if on PC recommend using the keyboard/mouse combo as it’s a lot easier to navigate
If you are familiar with DnD mechanics you'll get this game pretty quickly. And you can multiclass, meaning you can mix more classes as you level up, but you need to do so when you've gained what you wanted from the classes. Your stats are key here. And sadly no, you cannot ride Dragons as far as I know the dragonwarden subclass that exists in the dnd books (extra stuff) isn't in here. But don't let that stop you, this game allows you to pull shennanigans that other games wouldn't dream off. Be creative, explore, investigate and make damn sure you save often. Just incase you accidentally mess up. Your companions also have skills you can use to help you with your rolls. If you want I can give you a few tips, but I only will do so if you want them, I don't want to backseat and ruin your experience.
@@Fazolive All right. I'll give you a quick explanation into the basic dnd stuff so you can be a little more prepped should you attempt to buy and further play it. Whilst BG3 is dnd based, it has made some minor alterations to suit its gameplay, but if you wanna go deeper into your Monk's abilities take a look at the Monk builds here on YT. Just type in BG3 Monk build and you'll get told exactly what to look for and choose. Sometimes even level for level. But that is if you want it. If you wish to explore more don't be afraid to try stuff out, just make sure you save before. Basics: You have your character and decided on your race and class, these gives you certain benefits and also limitations as they effect your character: stuff like your high elf grants you the spell firebolt (cantrip) and your Monk is what is known as a Dex based character. Wisdom will be your second highest stat if you follow the in game standard point scores and didn't change the stats yourself. These stats affect not only the armour or weapons you can use without penalties (disadvantage) but also the Skills you have and use throughout the game; You see these when you do dice rolls you get the +1,-1 ect. Skills such as Persuasion, Insight, Investigate, ect. If you want I can give you a cheatsheet to use as I don't know if console players get to see them, which we pc players do if we hover the mouse over the sentence/option. You can also get extra bonusses for your skill rolls through your companions; Shadowheart has access to the spell 'Guidance' let her cast it before you engage potential conversation and it will roll a d4 (meaning you can get a +1,2,3 or 4) added to your roll, make sure you activate it by selecting it before the roll. I also think Gale can get the spell too. But you'll have to check if they are selected as spells. TURN: Once into combat you have your Turn which exists out of an Action, a Bonusaction and Movement (usually 30ft). These can be shifted up in order as you've seen and sometimes that is to your benefit. For example knocking your opponent out, takes them out of combat for a while, which means you can then move freely without triggering an Opportunity Attack if your enemy is next to you. I know Laezel has pommelstrike which does the same (as I haven't played Monk yet) A Downed or Prone enemy is a weaker enemy and easier to hit as they need to be helped or get up first. Which reminds me as you have seen you or your companions can help eachother up, in combat though this costs you your action, be mindful of that. Just toss a potion if you can that is usually more usefull and heals them somewhat, instead of getting up with 1 hp. You can also Dash, which is basically move twice, but it uses up either an action or bonusaction you'll have to select it in the wheel. Push or Toss is another fun one. Again it will take an Action and potentially cost you your loot, but certain enemies can be pushed down or away or tossed of a ledge. Spells and such use spell slots. Your casters have a limited number that will increase as they level up. Lvl3 spells obviously will be more powerful than cantrips, but cantrips are can always be used there is no limit to them. Unless you are Silenced, but we'll come to that later. Situations: You don't always have to fight, sometimes you can go around find a hidden entry and sneak your way in. Find a brittle wall? Break it down, or if possible talk your way in with either persuasion, intimidation or deception, BE MINDFUL OF TRAPS, when you enter an area your Perception will be triggered, (a hidden roll) if yours doesn't spot the trap, maybe one of your companions can. Speaking of hidden rolls, those are to speed up the game, it rolls for your success on a swing for example but also does so for your enemies or other individual you might encounter. You'll see a Successfull or Miss or Failed appear. That is what those refer to. If you can use speak to animals it will give you different options and all animals have dialogue, you just have to be able to understand them either through spell or potions. Now from what I've spotted from your gameplay you innocently run up to things. TIP 1: Use the minimap or camera more. You can zoom in and out, scan a little a head of your party and rotate it. Crouch or 'Hide' as it is known in DND and you will be able to sneak up or past people/creatures and see their range of sight. You will also see your visibility (potential discovery) with another icon whether you stand in the light or in shadow. Tip 2: Surface damage. Do not run or move through fire or acid or water or oil or anything that a spell or flask could have effect on. You will receive the status effect burning which will last several turns. Go around or jump over it. Naturally what hurts you can also hurt your enemies. If you have a burning surface next to you dip your weapon in it and it now deals additional fire damage. Look out for barrels of potential burning or watery substance, a nice fire bolt and your enemies either go boom or go wet and have your spellcaster zap them or create a slippery surface. TIP 3: Look at your turn order and what you can you with your & your companions actions and bonus actions and who follows who in turn. If you are last and Gale is ahead of you let him cast grease for example on the enemy's area or in front of them so they have to move through it. Grease is slippery so the enemies can fall down and is flammable. What do you have? oh firebolt! Burn the bastard and if there is more than one in the grease, bingo! TIP 4: RESTING; when you go to camp you go and rest, its where you heal up, have dinner and are able to talk and change the companions of your party. You go into camp by clicking on the campfire icon of one of your wheels I believe ( I play on pc, so mine are displayed slightly different.) And inside the camp you can click on the campfire to progress and ultimately get back to where you were last time you left. If you use the waypoints, they travel to those. You have long rests and short rests for longrests you go to camp, but short rests can be done where you are at. Be mindful of what is more usefull. You mind need your longrests more in the beginning. As far as I know there are no penalties with resting too much so don't fret about that. Combat: Be smart Have the High Ground. Keep out of range or sight when possible, so you force them to move. Be strategic check your surroundings, did you see that large Block hanging above the temple sight? What would happen if you approach from another area? Potentially be able to shoot it down? See opportunities, experiment, try combinations or find ways around. There is no real hand holding, true but there also isn't much that cannot be achieved when you think creatively. BUT don't play a Durge playthrough yet as it is a somewhat different from your general playthrough and as the developer stated it gives the story an entirely different twist. So save that for later. Now I think I have probably talked long enough. You'll get a subclass at level 3 and ki points as a Monk use always use up your all of your actions if you can, but be more mindfull of spellpoints, ki points and spellslots, those usually only come back after a long rest. Have fun!
my best advice to give when playing this game is, problem solve like real life, the game is wayyy more open than you expect a game to be, and you have alooot more freedom to mess up. the game does not hold your hand or keep you in a safety box like other games.
This game plays better on PC, but also having an understanding of DND helps a lot. Each class has strengths and weaknesses and understand what stats go with each class is key. Also finding out things like how to get that demon's sword is really fun, like if you change the elf girl's spells she has one that can make someone drop an item then you can just pick it up.
First time took me 500 hours. Hopeefully you rock with it! It's challenging at first if you're not used to tactical RPGs, but maaaan it gets addicting the longer you stay with it. Especially the characters backstories. I don't think I ever CARED so much about how my party members were doing in a game. Like, fr, they feel like family by the end.
Hello adventurer! I'm new here but I've watched a lot of BG3 content. I want you to know there are NO WRONG CHOICES! Play how you want to play! I do want to let you know that you'll want to check in with your companions as they will have dialogue every now and again in and out of camp. When you take regular breaks at camp - especially a long rest there are events / cut scenes that occur that you could miss out on.... but if you're okay with missing out on that stuff that is totally okay! Again play how you want and have fun! (p.s. Consider me a new Subscriber! Looking forward to seeing how your journey unfolds!)
MAKE SURE THAT YOU MANUALLY SAVE ALLLLLL THE TIME TRUST ME. It’s just in case you don’t like a choice or if something happens that you don’t like. Like if you need to protect a character and they die auto saves can be a bit far from each other
Don't feel bad about time spent on character creation - I spent a good hour - lol. So many, many decisions. I have fun with this game & bought it after watching a few streams of folks playing.
Oh also, if you really want to help yourself, review this video again to catch all the tutorial pop-up messages. Maybe you did that while editing. I saw you read a few of them, but you missed important ones. Such as the one about Resting that happens at 59:02.
If you need a hand I could multiplayer you. Have played d&d since the 80’s and hundreds of hours on bg3. This is the game I have wanted for decades. It’s absolutely fantastic. If you would like a hand let me know. Happy hunting.
I’m only 6 mins into watching so my comment may be irrelevant by the end 😅 I’m new(ish) to gaming and my bf gifted me this game. I thought I would get overwhelmed by all the diff choices but I’ve played through the game about 7 times now! I love all the choices, the rp, it’s like a new experience every time. I feel like I’m getting better at understanding each class choices and how to best play them. You should def buy!!
You could have saved that brain and it would have fought with you. Again choices have consequences BUT consequences aren’t necessarily BAD. Choose wisely the entire game is choices even choosing not to kill people or to kill people can effect outcomes of situations have FUN it such a good game. I chose to be a Druid and turning into animals is so helpful also being able to talk to them
Losing that much progress. That hurt. This game is amazing, but, like you saw, not shy about blood and gore. If you do end up investing in it, be ready for a long game. A very good game, but really long. Also, it does deal with the topic of demons, hell (their version of it anyway), pacts with demons and at a later point it can get a little disturbing (wife wanted to stop playing when we got to that point), so a heads up on that.
How you guys feeling, Should I dropped a part 2?! discord.gg/3urvHPu8pU
Absolutely bro this one of my favourite games of all time🙏🙏
@@Rebelthunder494 love what I’m seeing so far Ima continue to survey this out and see!
I ended up with 500 hours as of yesterday 😅 (3 custom Tav playthroughs, 2 Dark Origin runs, 1 Bard!Astarion run)
My best advice is to not worry about missing things or making mistakes the first run. This game is HUGE, it's designed to be variable enough so that different runs can play out and feel like a brand new game. Even with 100s of hours under my belt I still keep finding new ways to play or areas of the map I've missed. It actually is rewarding in a sense, if you miss something your first couple of runs and it comes in clench on a higher difficulty (I found a shortcut my honor mode run that I completely overlooked on easier difficulties, it felt great 😆)
As far as combat goes, it's equal parts RNG and strategy.
"I'm not gonna just reach for her artifact."
You're more honorable than my mother, then. She tried to steal the artifact, then told Shadowheart to get lost when she asked to join the party. I was losing my mind laughing the whole time.
😭😭😭
I did the same. I don't know what it does but I kinda want to steal her destiny or whatever. The ultimate heist
This game is totally different than Cyberpunk but just as good, choices make even more difference.
Hmm this game is honestly really catching my interest
Good ass game for real def worth a playthrough if you have the game
@@Fazolive it should its game that is closest to free choices of all the games only downside is that most good characters are too weak to opose you if you start doing evil choices and narative isnt letting you be all out evil from the beging but its still worth playing how you want
@@matejmatuska6700Completley disagree here about being evil, this game has the best evil
experience I’ve ever seen.
“We’re gonna try something different and go with Elf.”
Picks the most played race 😂
Don’t worry about it, just play which race/class looks most fun to you.
Hahah that’s some different to me 😭😭 I’d tend to avoid playing an an Elf but I definitely appreciate the helpful tips fam!

Honestly fam 😭😭
Oh my god, after Cyberpunk you now play Baldur's Gates 3... Those two games among my favorites ever!
How awesome, thanks Fazo!!!
Yessirr!! Thank you for the support fam 👀 u think I should cop this and do a full plat through on this??
@@Fazolive Definitely yes!
Even if you're not really familiar with CRPGs/turned based RPGs, Baldur's Gates is a "must play" for any player.
It's an amazing game, a masterpiece which deserve every single award it earned last year!
Oh yeah, Fazo! Same choice! I too played Balder's Gate 3 right after Cyberpunk, and it hella tripped me out. Like I'm effed again with something in my head that's gonna change my char into something else. LOL. I've done 3 playthroughs, you're gonna love this game, it's different but worth it.
Let’s get ittt!!
Man, I love it videos with people discovering BG3 for the first time ever. I love this game so much, I hope you continue having a good time!
I'm always delighted to see new players trying out BG3! 😃 Have fun!!! Even though I've finished the game fully only once, it was SOOO worth it... ❤️🔥 I can't wait to continue my second playthrough and see it to the end... 💚
Baldur’s Gate 3 and Cyberpunk are two of my most played games on steam so it’s hype to see you play this next 🔥 🔥 🔥
I have beat this game twice, and it was really cool watching someone go into it wish fresh eyes. Definitely looking forward to seeing more.
Make sure you explore the first act because most of the companions are found in this area and yes you can miss out on having certain companions by missing them.
hell, not only does the game allow you to just completely pass companions by, it even allows you to straight up kill them if that's how you roll lol
@zarasha8220 on my first playthrough I let gale sink into the portal and just completely missed wyll and karlach somehow 😭
Some rolls happen in the background, like when the icon popped up on the top left at 15:08
If your inventory is full, you can send things to camp, where there's a chest that holds everything you send.
Thank you for the love and helpful tips fam!! Definitely needed!
"Wasted enough time in the character creation" The madness of that statement!!!
Complete madness i apologize 😭😭 that trial just had me on a timer
1:11:01 I'm just saying - the necrotic aura is a bug and it made me laugh. It's not supposed to happen when Gale is alive. Still, it's funny, and there's just something beautiful seeing people play this game for their first time.
Patch 7 will fix Gale's unhealthy condition 😅
Step bravely and make bold choices! The untrodden path is another adventure.
I say that as a person with 600+ hours in both of these games ^^
Have fun! And waiting for upcoming episodes :)
YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW LEGENDARY THIS GAME IS!!!! Awesome!
This game is absolutely amazing.
Ahhh interesting I honestly didn’t think picking an Origin would make such a difference I honestly thought it was just a random character creation
@@lekillerfou
I recommend Dark Urge because that origin has direct ties to the story versus Tav that's more roleplay oriented, if that makes sense.
( I'm an oldie ) I'm loving it and on my second real playthrough - I'm sure you'll get as addicted as the rest of us -
Take your time, I LOVE seeing how you approach the story and strategy elements of the game! It’s the best part to see, keep it up!
oooo I love seeing more people giving bg3 a try!

Love that game. Crazy to think that it's old enough to drive if it were a person.
Mann frrrr Wizard101 deserve its flowers childhood memories right there!
Just some tips (I'm only halfway through the video, so apologies if you figured this out already)
The yellow bar at the bottom is your movement. If you want to move closer as a major action, click the feet with wings in your attack wheel.
Take your time and look through the attack wheel and check the damage for each attack.
It takes some getting used to but you will get it. I kept ending my turn all the time by accident. Part of the learning process. I hope you get the full game!
And don't forget to level up and check your inventory! R2
Thank you for the love and support, means a whole lot!!
I can already imagine there just seems to be so much you could do with this game!
You experiment a lot, that's the best way to play this game cause it has so many hidden ways to do things.
One of the most fun experiences I have had with a game ! Definitely worth giving a try man

Genuinely enjoy watching people experience this masterpiece for the first time
Loving your reaction so far! The game can be super confusing so don’t feel bad for not knowing what’s going on. Also, not sure if you’re playing console or pc, but if on PC recommend using the keyboard/mouse combo as it’s a lot easier to navigate
I’m on console and thank you for the love fam!
Thank you fam I appreciate the support and concern I definitely don’t mind receiving tips I’m open ears to anything!
These stats affect not only the armour or weapons you can use without penalties (disadvantage) but also the Skills you have and use throughout the game;
You see these when you do dice rolls you get the +1,-1 ect.
You go into camp by clicking on the campfire icon of one of your wheels I believe ( I play on pc, so mine are displayed slightly different.)
And inside the camp you can click on the campfire to progress and ultimately get back to where you were last time you left.
I forget what time it is playing BG 3!!!!!!
9 hrs. gone just like that!!!!!!!
My stomach usually is why I know............. lol!!!!!!!!!!
haha rightt 😭😭
Yooo, from Cyberpunk to Baldurs Gate 3. Looking forward to the series.
my favorite two games are BG3 and Cyberpunk so gotta catch up and wait for the new ones for BG3. Good video
Game looks so good. One day I’ll get to afford it and will dive in with the experience. Nice video my dude
Preciate that fam! And yes it is definitely worth it
First time took me 500 hours. Hopeefully you rock with it! It's challenging at first if you're not used to tactical RPGs, but maaaan it gets addicting the longer you stay with it. Especially the characters backstories. I don't think I ever CARED so much about how my party members were doing in a game. Like, fr, they feel like family by the end.
i've played through 3 times and always discovered something new i didn't knew about before .....
Cant lie just happy to see a brother play this game definitely would watch if you did a full or mini. Series
Thank you for the love fam God willing I definitely plan on continuing this series!
@@Fazolive fantastic blessings apon you brother 🙏🏾
Keep going, you will love it!
Dude i love your Chanel ❤
Thank you fam means a lot 💯
You can talk your way out of some situations. And different races will trigger different options sometimes.
now THAT'S a good looking guardian. my randomized ones do always be looking goofy as fuck LMFAO
BG3 is one of my faves ^_^ Monk is such a good class to play
The lore is DnD lore.
You wouldn't spoil anything if you read up on DnD lore or watched videos about it because this game has its own unique story.
Thank you for the love and support fam!
If you want to experience the racism in bg3 play Drow.
Dawg when i first started this game i immediately knew why this won game of the year
MAKE SURE THAT YOU MANUALLY SAVE ALLLLLL THE TIME TRUST ME. It’s just in case you don’t like a choice or if something happens that you don’t like. Like if you need to protect a character and they die auto saves can be a bit far from each other
your voice is so pleasant
Thank you i appreciate it!
Cyberpunk and now Baldurs Gate, W games.
‼️
Don't feel bad about time spent on character creation - I spent a good hour - lol. So many, many decisions. I have fun with this game & bought it after watching a few streams of folks playing.
Oh also, if you really want to help yourself, review this video again to catch all the tutorial pop-up messages. Maybe you did that while editing. I saw you read a few of them, but you missed important ones. Such as the one about Resting that happens at 59:02.
Thank you fam definitely just went and checked that out!
If you need a hand I could multiplayer you. Have played d&d since the 80’s and hundreds of hours on bg3. This is the game I have wanted for decades. It’s absolutely fantastic. If you would like a hand let me know. Happy hunting.
We’re gonna do something different, so we’re gonna pick… Elf.
Haha exactly!
@@samanthatrejo2856 Mann what a wonderful gift your bf had gifted you! 😅 I do plan on buying it God willing! This game is honestly amazing
You could have saved that brain and it would have fought with you. Again choices have consequences BUT consequences aren’t necessarily BAD. Choose wisely the entire game is choices even choosing not to kill people or to kill people can effect outcomes of situations have FUN it such a good game. I chose to be a Druid and turning into animals is so helpful also being able to talk to them
Wow that’s crazy I had a feeling that brain could have been a companion 😭 but I wanted to be a Druid to tbh but I seen the monk and it was wraps
if you buy the game, i’d suggest searching everything and going any place you can so you don’t miss anything!!
@@snottiez haha you should go check out my other episodes 😅
BG3 got me back into gaming after I completely lost interest after Overwatch added too many new heros
Aww you just killed you brain friend. They are a companion later in the game.
Yuhh I realized 😭😭
@@Fazolive Us is a cool little brain =).
BTW YT just recommended me this vid so I subbed
Welcome to the game that will devour the next 1000 hours of playtime.
Thank you for the warm welcome 😅 🤝🏾
Best game of the last few years. I hope you enjoy it!
Love everything about BG3 except the combat. I understand it’s D&D but I would have preferred a more Final Fantasy type of turn based combat.
Thanks for the heads up fam!
Turn us up!!! 🔥🔥
All of the lore in this game comes from dungeons & dragons
