that's amazing Chris! Really happy for you both! Yes I couldn't agree more, London is an expensive place if you can't enjoy it! Good Luck in the North! Hope to see you again one day! Take good care and be safe!
Glad it's worked so well for you, Chris. I've been to Liverpool many times. A lovely waterfront, and a compact downtown. Sefton Park is a nice neighborhood! good luck to ya....
London may be expensive but it's the best city in the UK for culture , character and loads to do sight seeing and places to go and lots of history in London and it's the biggest city in the UK you can never get bored.
I definitely enjoyed living in London when I had the time or energy to go out and see it. There are loads of great cities around the UK that rival it on all of those counts though in my opinion and often they don’t require as much booking ahead of time or queues to get in.
Liverpool has the history, London has the numbers. Both are great cities in different ways. Manchester, Sheffield, Chester and Northampton aren’t bad, either.
I’ve never been to Northampton. Despite living in London for a while I’ve barely travelled down south. Just Bristol and Cornwall, which are also really nice places.
@@IntentionalTech Cornwall’s beautiful, I agree. Between me and London (beyond happening to have places to go and people to see across the M25) it’s either south or nothing. The fact that I’ve had a lot of family come, go and root between Greenwich and Kent-ways helps (I’ve got family elsewhere in London, too, but more south of the Thames) but even beyond that I just have a niche love of south London. As far as the rest of the city goes I wouldn’t say I’d prefer it to Liverpool, Oxford or Bath. I actually dislike East London (EastEnders-aside).
Just seen your video. Great help 👍🏼 Currently live near kentish Town and possibly moving to the Walton area. In your opinion what are the better areas in North Liverpool??? Have been investigating myself but would like someone else's opinion too
Nice! Might be worth looking around Crosby or Waterloo if you’re thinking of North Liverpool. I know that area better than others because I’m originally from Formby which is just up the coast. Otherwise, living in the city centre is also a good option. The city is quite compact and easy to get around, especially in comparison to London so could be a good bet.
@@NJG90 No worries 🙂 I might actually do a video on the best places to live in Liverpool soon because a few people have asked me this now. Good luck with it 👍
There’s a lot more demand for rent in London and not enough housing projects to keep up with its population growth. Add to that, most of the UK’s top earners work there and it can become a very expensive place. Liverpool has fewer global employers in the city but there are companies like Barclays, LFC and Very. It’s also home to some major hospitals and universities, as well as a large hospitality sector so there are good options and it’s close enough to Manchester for a daily commute, which is good for jobs in media and marketing.
Nice 🙂 I think as long as you stick to the South Liverpool area around Greenbank Park, Mossley Hill, Allerton Road and Aigburth you’ll be sound. If you want to live closer to the beach, Formby and Crosby are safe bets!
Thanks for watching. Glad it helped! Not sure your budget or what you consider working class but... If you’re looking at South Liverpool, the following areas will be affordable and close enough to nice parks: Smithdown Wavertree Allerton Garston In North Liverpool, some affordable areas that are close to the beach Parts of Crosby (some areas are expensive) Waterloo All of these suggestions will get you into town within 20 minutes. Hope that helps and good luck
@@IntentionalTech thank you, budget at the moment would be c£200k which don't buy much these days... I hear the south is better to live than the north (of Liverpool). I'll do a bit of research! 👍👍👍
@@GarethSewell1982 ah sound. You should definitely look around those areas then, as well as Aigburth and Allerton. Victorian terraces in L15, L17 and L18 go for £200 - 230k. It’s a lovely area.
@@IntentionalTech thank you, no rush tbh, it's more of a medium term goal, so probably in the next 2-3 years. I'll subscribe to your channel and let you know how i get on...
If you’re unsure a good place to start is the city centre, especially down by the dock there are some fairly inexpensive but nice places to rent. Otherwise, it’s worth looking at South Liverpool around near Sefton Park or Smithdown. A lot of people from outside Liverpool tend to move there because it has a big student and post-grad population. That also means nice cafes and restaurants, plus tons of outdoor space. Good luck!

Nice video buddy. I am a foreigner thinking to move to Liverpool to settle down. The cost of Living down here is driving me crazy.
Hey mate. It’s a great place to live and definitely much more affordable. Thanks for watching!

Why is cheaper to rent in Liverpool? Any issues with employment?
