@@MindyourSocietyWhen persuing macro jobs should you have atleast an assiatant certification in social work or is that not needed if your degree is in something other than social work?
So helpful. Have been doing direct case management work for years and am ready to pivot. Went to grad school specifically for Macro Social Work, but have founded it challenging to break into the field. Taking certifications could be the key. Thanks!
Mare Meets World it’s a very beautiful thing! But can also be a bit of a challenge when it comes to finding your niche. But with creativity and effort, we can identify it!
Yes, I love social work. The profession is so broad and flexible! Awesome awareness video. You provided great tips and advice on LCSW topic! Macro social work is interesting! I currently practice social work in the mental health field working with children and I do not have my license yet! I am working on them tho! Such good experience! Bringing the light on social work! Love love love this❤️
Lu’s Action Circle yay! Glad you liked the video. Thank you. Do you currently have a supervisor on site at your job or do you have one that you don’t work with? I’m curious about costs that most people are paying for remote supervision.
Mind your Society my agency provides supervision opportunities, but you have to work for the agency so many years after or so. My supervisor is actually an LCSW. However, when I do decide to get my LCSW supervision, I don’t think I want to get it at my job. I don’t want to be stuck in case of emergency and if better opportunities arise!🥴 Things might change later🤷🏽♀️ I just started a new position and I am hooked already so I might as well get all i can get.

I'm so interested! Do you have a video on what's the best grad programs for macro SW and would you recommend online grad programs? I'm so glad I found your page.
Thanks you for watching! No I don't have that video because It's such a personal choice. I would say to just go to a grad school that has an emphasis on the area of social work that you want to do. And if you find an online program that is accredited, i'd say go for it!
Thank you soooooooo much for this. I'm going into my second yr. and I'm loving the Macro field placement. Any advice on how to keep up? At times it feels like a wild ride😩
I want to work with both possibly. I want to do school social work but I might also be interested in research. But I also want educate people about domestic violence and help them learn about healthy relationships but I don't know. I am confused,
Yes, it can be very confusing to figure it all out! I hope my videos can help you to better define that for yourself. Also, I do offer career coaching, which can help you to further clarify your thoughts and passions. You can learn more about that coaching on my website at: www.mindyoursociety.com/services I know this kind of service can be helpful for many. Thank you for watching!
Any recommendations for a fully remote position? I’m a clinical license social worker but want to work from home. It’s very hard to find non-direct practice remote jobs!
Hey Gaby, I hope u would consider this question. . I took my BCA degree in India. ..but i wanted to go for MSW for my further studies abroad (Canada/US)..I just wanted to ask whether I would be able to go for that course(MSW/BSW) or anything related to it, despite taking a whole different course here.
Hello , It's informative video and I would like to know if any one is studying in management in community services in canada , can this program helpful for them.
Gonna graduate with a LLBSW this semester! Do you have a recommendation on what I should advocate my salary be? My internship seems interested in hiring me.
congratulations!! that is awesome. That's a very hard question because its based on your experience, where you reside, the type of work you will be doing. It is not the same across the board, unfortunately. It would be much easier if it was! What kind of work will you be doing? Is it for a non profit, business, government? How much prior experience do you have? These are all questions you will have to ask yourself.
@@MindyourSociety It would be for a non-profit that gets funding from the state and government. It's Area Agency on Aging. I'm not sure yet what they would be considering me for, though I imagine it would be case management. I have a year and a half of direct care experience with folks with mental disabilities and another year and a half of experience as a residential support specialist where I was a sort of intermediary between case workers and tenants of Avalon where folks deal with addictions. Interestingly, my advisor at EMU said that Indeed says that the average pay for a BSW with less than a year of experience is 47k, which I would be quite happy with.
I have a Master's in Psychology from India and want to start my career in Social work in the state of Massachusetts. Do I need MSW or is there any other way to start my career?
Sandra Crespin I have a certification in community organizing, multicultural leadership, a few continuing education business courses and I am currently working on a coaching certification!
Mind your Society awesome! Did you acquire them as a post graduate certifications? What websites do your recommend utilizing to find certifications in?
Hello, I am currently attending University of Chicago pursuing a MSW in administrative Social Work. I did graduate with a BSW, so I’ve been looking to get advice on how to get my foot in the door with macro social work. What would be the odds of obtaining a job in macro level social work at the age of 23? I’ve only had part-time jobs due to school and I’m not sure if that will affect me.
Hi Angel. Thanks for watching! I really don’t think age matters much. I think if you have the schooling and internship experience, you can be good to go
There isn’t just one path or one passion. We can have it all 🙏🏾✨✨✨

That’s so true! As social workers we have so much flexibility in what we practice. It’s a beautiful thing!
