I don’t feel like the Apple battery case is worth $130 but I still bought it and after using it for a couple of weeks now I really do like it. Still not worth 130 tho.

I got the Apple case, LOVE it!!
I own both, I think they work really well together if you’re traveling. The smart battery case works best first, as it preserves your phones battery life at 100%, then once the apple case dies switch to the mophie. Only activate the mophie juice pack when your phone is ~20% though, as it’ll be most efficient for your phone that way.
Great info! I have the Apple SmartCase for my XS Max, at first I was using it EVERYWHERE I went but now that I’ve had it almost a month and know how long the battery lasts and that it’s kinda bulky I charge it and take it with me ready to go BUT only use it when I go to work OR my daughters cheerleading comps out of town. If it’s a day off or I’m home from work I take my phone out and plug in the case or charge via Qi. Thanks again 👍🏻
the bottom on the mophie case is actually really smart, you have an open area to put your phone on a dock, you can plug in normal earbuds, you can choose to just charge your phone and so on. you get more options with the mophie vs the apple where you need airpods to listen to music, and you need to take your phone out if you wanna charge it on its own

I bought the Apple one in white and I LOVE IT! You put it on and that’s it. It works flawlessly and integrates well with iOS. Apple smart battery case hands down is the better of the two
While using the iPhone case can you play music with the dongle? Or do you have to remove it ?
You can charge both the Apple Case and iPhone together, at the same time. You just need the right wall adapter. I was able to save $30 and just bought the Apple Case open-box from Best Buy. Great deal in my opinion and no issues so far.
there’s also the fact that wireless charging introduces some loss due to its lower efficiency vs wired.

I’ve paired my smart case with a zendure x6pd battery bank which can charge laptops etc. I very rarely dip into the iPhone internal battery. I think this will be the first time I’ve skipped on mophie in about 4 years.
I love the Apple case; I’ve had both mophie and Apple. I just wish Apple gave you the feature to turn your battery case on and off like mophie. I hate that mophie now has the open bottom and that the material doesn’t protect against falls. I’ve actually cracked a pervious iPhone with a mophie charging case on. Both cases are good but since Apple is more compatible with my phone and the case is more protective, I’m going with them. Any idea when the 11 pro Max Apple case drops?

Tbh I just bought the iPhone 11 zerolemon case. 20$ on Amazon. Works so damn well. I’d recommend that over anything.
Apple case has worked extremely well for me I like the full protection apple offers plus lightning port also I have owned MOPHIE’s before and the life span is not great
I would love to switch to it but by Amy chance do you ever have to put your phone down because of overheating issues? The reason im asking that is because when I had the iPhone 7 mophie case it would get really hot and 2 does it bother you that your phone is always 100?
I used a Mophie Juice Pack Air on my iPhone 7 and it lasted 3 years with no issues at all. I also used a Apple Smart Case on my other iPhone 7 and it worked great for about a year and a half but it slowly Disintegrated the battery in the phone because of constant charging. It wore down the battery so to speak so after 2 years my battery was at 52% capacity. Even though it’s an Apple certified product it wasn’t good for my iPhone battery. Their both great cases but my preference is Mophie.
So does it charge the phone all the time? Does the case need to be charged as well?
It should be noted you can get smartcase versions for hone 7/7+/8 etc.

Just bought mine the other day for iPhone XS, got just over 11 hours of use before the battery case ran out.
I would go with the Apple one so I don’t need to have a USB c cable. And it supports the 18W power delivery.

I just bought the mophie case last Saturday. I’ve already had to file a warranty replacement case because the port doesn’t make a direct contact with the phone and won’t charge.

Yes but sometimes in my truck it will randomly disconnect. Just had to upgrade my phone unfortunately.
That’s normally due to software related issues. It happen to me as well. A reset fixed that up

It’s not just the software integration and seeing the battery percentage that makes it smart. It’s the way it handles the battery as well. It may say or look like it’s charging the phones battery while it’s in the case when in reality it’s actually not “charging” your phones battery. It’s running the phone off the battery case and not touching your phones battery until the battery case is depleted giving u your phones battery better overall battery health because your not having to charge or even use your phones battery as long as u keep the battery case charged.

I’ve purchased Mophie battery cases since the 3S. The ability to turn it on or off a big sell for me. If I’m out with no access to a wall charger, rationing gives me more control over when in the day I exhaust my battery case. Maybe I’ll let my battery run real low and limit my usage so by that 11pm concert, I have a full battery case to record my favorite band. Always on, you lose that control or you’re forced to remove the case completely.
Have the Apple case and it’s great.The case charges quickly on its own and lasts a while.

@@pazivefl was a while ago and since bought a new iPhone 12 ,waiting for them to bring out the case but I’m a heavy user and never got 100% as I was constantly using it.I wouldn’t hesitate to buy the same again as long as it’s Apple.I tried a cheap brand and lasted 2 weeks before I threw it in the bin.

Got my Apple smart battery case in an open box special at Best Buy for 75 bucks. Love it! I prefer the integration with IOS and I still use plug in earbuds. Also IOS knows this is a battery case and it's not the same as continually charging. Usual fit and finish from Apple is a plus. I also prefer the case and phone operating together to decide how to charge the phone, I don't want to fool with turning the battery on and off. So far the case powers me until I go to bed and still have high 90s or 100% battery life at the end of the day.

Apple case here - I can't stand the bottom of the phone not being covered. That's it...I just can't do it..
Same for me. I have the white Apple case and fingerprints do not show on it, at all. Also, it stays clean. Haven't had any issue's and I love how the case comes on and off so easily and it sincs with the iphone. You can watch the battery percentage along with my watches battery and phones battery all in one place. So cool! And you don't need to turn the case on and off. Mine also charges wirelessly very quickly. Just my personal experience. Two days of regular use. Great battery, IMO.
Victorious One I have the smart battery case as well and love it, but mine definitely doesn’t charge fast through my mophie wireless charging pad. It takes like 2.5 hours maybe 3.

I just got my Mophie case today 🤩🤩 so happy with it!
I had to purchase a Mophie replacement for the Apple smart battery case on my iPhone 6s, so my Mophie is a slightly older model than the one being reviewed.
The only reason I had to replace my Apple case was that the soft coating began peeling under normal use, and I don't have nearby access to an Apple company store (and it's probably not under warranty anyway). I misremembered that I had bought it at the Sprint store with my phone, but if so, they no longer carry the Apple case, so I bought a Mophie to replace it. If it were not for the coating falling apart, I would have stuck with Apple (and if I can find anyone who can repair or replace this "upholstery" for a reasonable price, I will do so).
My older Mophie DOES cover the bottom of the phone, including the Lightning port, but does allow sound in and out through an air pocket on the bottom. Since this model iPhone doesn't support (nor do I have) a wireless charger, the power goes through the Lightning connector (thus I cannot plug in anything else directly). The Mophie thus serves as a pass-through Micro-USB (NOT USB 3!) to Lightning adapter, and I can pass data through that adapter (plug phone in to communicate with iTumes Windows app). Since I had discarded most of my charging cords using the Micro-USB connector, I had to scrounge one up. In about a month or two of use, I have accidentally dropped the phone while plugged in, and bent the Micro-USB connector, making the connection shaky; I had to buy a cord with reinforced connectors, and with the "standard strength" cords I have to tolerate occasional "hiccups" in the power connection when using the other one.
This model Mophie does have the ability to RECEIVE wireless power, but I don't have a wireless charger yet. Nor does it leave the top of the phone unprotected; it has a removable half-cap which allows the case to be partially or completely removed (partial removal allows me to charge the phone and battery case with two separate cords). A push button next to the four status LEDs, when held down for a half second, lights one to four lights to show how many quarter-charges it has remaining; but if I press it TOO long, the battery case also toggles power delivery to the phone on or off (the lights do a fast left to right "dance" to indicate this is happening). Now that I realize what happens when the phone is being charged by discharge of the Mophie, I plan to use this feature on purpose. But what I really miss is the ability to determine the exact percentage of charge remaining in the case. Also, the lightning connector previously used to connect the phone to a charger never bent sideways when dropped.
With the Apple case, isn’t it bad to keep the phone charging even when it’s at a 100%? Like if you wake up, take the phone off the charger, the case starts charging your phone. Isn’t that bad for your battery on your phone?
After going through 2 of the Apple cases in less than 3 years because they fall apart, I’m definitely going to try the mophie this time around.
The Apple store basically told me “screw you” when I showed them the poor quality of the case.
I just forked over the money for the Apple case expecting to be underwhelmed. It’s perfect and I couldn’t be happier. I would’ve payed more for it personally I use it all day every day

I’ve got the apple one and ye it is over priced but don’t know if it is different in different country’s but over here in the uk on amazon you can get the apple case for around a £100 that’s were I got mine from reply if it is were you are 👍👍
Big plus for the Apple case is that it's charging the phone through the port, making it more efficient. And you can still charge the whole thing wirelessly.
I've always had mophie over the years, for the XS though, Apple's case wins hands down, i don't fancy paying £100 for a mophie case that charges 40%... Also i've a friend who still uses his 6s Apple smart battery case, still holds charge as it was new, years later!
Between these two apples is way better. The best battery case however is the ZeroLemon one.
Really hate that there’s no on off button for the Apple case. I like to wait to use my battery case til I actually need to use it and not unecessarily charge my phone when it’s already at 100% and then both are depleted at the end of the day or when I’m out and can’t use it cause it’s already dead
All the apple case needs is a on and off switch like mophie , I went with mophie with my iPhone 8 for that reason , I’m trying the iPhone case now and I’ll see what happens. And the other thing that wasn’t covered was that mophie also has a 120% juice pack which has better battery life
I had 3 Apple smart battery cases for my last phone. None lasted for a year. Biggest problem was the silicone case peels off. I’m going with the Mophie case this time to see if the outside will last a little longer.

I’m watching this video two days after purchasing the Mophie case, and I can say that with having zero experience using the apple case, I do love the versatility of the mophie case. My family uses only android, and it’s nice to not have to worry about using only lightning cables.
That being said, I do really want the tight iOS integration of the apple case, so I’ll probably wind up purchasing the apple case at some point as well.

The Apple smart Case gives me 10-12 hours of extra heavy usage with 4+ hours of screen time. Thats 3 to 4 times what the Mophie could give back.
the battery case of mophie at the first fall broke the hooks that hold the upper part, then every time I removed the battery case it ruined the iphone by scratching it on the sides.
I like the apple one better. It looks better, more battery life, dead simple, and I like how there is only one port not 2.
I bought mophie juice pack for my iPhone X and it scratches the stainless steel side of my iPhone and it doesn’t hold the charge. I would put it on a charger overnight and the charge drains by it self without in use.

I definitely prefer the lower pricetag of the mophie case...I've had mophie cases on my iphones for years. So on one hand I'm loyal to the mophie brand, the overall design I feel is smoother and actually feels more solid in the hand than the apple branded case.

The Apple case is much better. It fully protects the iPhone and doesn’t scratch it and the iPhone stays in mobile mode, but the Mophie case directly gets it in plugged in mode, which uses much more power.
Mophie's wireless charging heats up the phone so much after a while and iPhone go into dysfunction mode

I REALLY wanted a Mophie because a coworker has it and I thought it was awesome - not true. It's a good device but get the APPLE version! You won't regret it. A bit overpriced but you still won't regret it!

I have the mophie case for the 11 pro, and it’s not that good honestly, it only keeps it at the same percentage while using it cause the wireless charging is very weak, and it only charges for like an hour and a half

I feel like the apple case is all around the best for the money. If the mophie was $79 it would be a compelling option but being there’s only a $30 difference, the apple is the best option. It’s the closes to an extension of your battery, like those zero lemon cases that just had huge batteries that you would replace the internal battery with and leave the back off (back when removable batteries where a thing)

The Apple battery case doesn’t hold up over time. That is my only complaint. After a few months there are chunks missing and I am not that rough with my phone.
Edit _ Central I’m not even beating mine up. It goes in and out of my pocket and has chunks missing. Pretty said for a “high quality” case.
