I also want to compare them with 90s skate punk, but that genre has significantly more snotty vocals and different themes. NP definitely brings back the speed and intensity of 90s skate punk. Their instrumentals sound a lot like lagwagon, nofx, early mxpx, pulley, nufan, early blink, slick shoes, etc., but they also bring lots of fun pop punk influences into their riffs and whatnot. Their sound is just so different. Parker’s vocals tend to be more of the aggressive pop-punk variety rather than skate punk and the themes tend to be significantly more serious than most skate punk songs.
