Beautiful reflections on the fleeting nature of autumn and the unique charm of Sherwood Forest! 🍁 Your dedication to capturing the changing colors and the "tipping point" of autumn is inspiring. Even without perfect light, the peace and tranquility of the forest come through in your shots. Looking forward to seeing your favorite image from this session! 🌳📸

As Madonna would say, "This used to be my playground...!"
Many a happy day spent as a young lad wandering the forest with my grandfather. Haven't been back for years though.

It is a massive playground for everyone. A brilliant place for photography and to escape the urban sprawl. Thank you for watching.

You were walking in my favourite forest and your were less than 1Km from my home. I recognise many of the paths you walked and the trees you photographed. Glad you enjoyed it. It's best visited on weekdays outside of the school holidays and offers so much at any time of the year. Next time I suggest you get yourself a coffee and a pasty at Major Brew in the craft centre before you head home. Thanks for sharing your experience here 🙂

Hi Steve, It was the most peaceful visit I had experienced there. The silence amplified the sound of the birds and the squirrels foraging around. I know from previous visits it is rich in fungi, so I will be returning there soon. A coffee and a pasty sounds good I will follow you suggestion on my next visit. Thank you for watching.

Some nice images to be had still in Sherwood Forest. I’ve been there a lot myself over the last 12 months and always enjoy going back. I managed to get there in the fog a couple of weeks ago and that helped me get some really nice images. I’d really like to get there in the snow if we have any during the winter, but actually getting there in the car is a bit of a battle!

Hi Anthony. Yes snow would be epic, but the A614 is not a pleasant drive in that kind of weather. I would have the same battle as you. My next visit will be a fungi session, or if I am lucky a bit of fog and mist. Thank you for watching.

Hi Craig I was in Dartmoor last weekend with a mate and we couldn't believe the different stages of Autumn. Some Oaks were nearly without leaves, others were half dead and half green. As you mentioned there are tree's that are still green. It's very difficult to try to plan when to shoot Autumn at the Peak. I love the Longshaw Estate (great cafe as well) It's great to see you shooting at higher ISO's than 100. Eddie 'Peak District photographer' Skelson regularly says that ALL images should be taken at 100 😊 I have told him he's wrong 😂

Hi Paul. The lack of cold weather and windy days seem to be adding extra time to the current autumnal period. I am off to the Derwent reservoirs on Monday to capture whatever colours are left in the surrounding woodlands. Of course once the weather breaks we can wave autumn goodbye. As far as ISO goes I do have a preference to ISO 64, but never fear going higher if the conditions dictate, that is what that tool is for. I would ignore Skelson he is just being a drama queen with his ISO settings.🤣. Thank you for watching.

Been wanting to go to Sherwood for a while and not made it. Looks like definitely worth the time.

Hi Paul. It is certainly worth the time and covers a large area to explore. Next door is Budby Forest which is also worth a visit. Both ancient woodlands. Good for hunting down fungi as well.
      Thank you for watching.

I've been using that geared head for about 6 months and it is way better than my ball head. Using my 150 -600 lens on it is a game canger. Nothing moves and receptive to its adjustments with the gears.

Another truly epic video, oddly enough those Silver Birches, are the one's that I had captured last week and were something else! The colours at Sherwood Forest, are just something else and you have captured them just beautifully. Though, I suspect a Squarespace Website is probably a good place to display them lol. Not that Squarespace are sponsoring that comment.

Hi Lee. As I say in the video I will spend more time in Sherwood Forest next year it is a massive area to cover and I am sure that there are many composition scenes to capture. As I went further in the ferns in particular were very brown and end of life.
There is probably another two weeks left there and a blast of light would really lift it. Not a lot of funghi around but lots of large dead tree trunks that will give them a home. Squarespace is the most annoying sponsor ever, But I do understand that the full timers have to make a living. Thank you for watching.

A place I pass on the way home from work and a very local woodland to me. A good arrangement of trees and funghi lurking up in the woodland. I must pay it another visit. Thank you for watching.
