I truly love it when players do stuff like what Mitrovic did, so unselfish, and then he got his reward with a goal
Class act. Never hurts being a good teammate
Mitros on fire.
I was at that game. I think it was 29th December 2018. Also went to wolves at home on boxing day. Mitros a selfless character and also loyal to the club

yes that is indeed what happened. Well observed
Many of the "stolen" tap-ins are actually understandable. Like the Ribery one, or the Aguero x Sterling incident. While their teammate *should* score those you can never be too sure. If you're at a perfect angle to hit a 100% shot then you should take it in my opinion.
Yeah but the one they stole from ronaldinho was embarrassing. Good thing dinho is a mellow guy 😅

The other player made sure it went in instead of coming back from the post.
the thing with that goal it was going right at the post, prob would still go in but it wasn't guaranteed so makes sense for the other player to tap it in for sure, but with the way he celebrated I'm not so sure he wouldn't steal it even if it was clear goal, but either way Ronaldinho scored plenty of goals so that goal meant much more to the other guy anyway.
I can bet that messi will never be present in this kind of videos. Dude passes the ball to fellow players even when he has a clear shot to goal. True sportsmanship ❤️
When you have a birds eye view, its very obvious that a pass should've been made... but for some of them, like Kane one,; you are so focused and zoned in, you're in the moment, the goalie is charging you and defenders closing down on you - you sometimes miss there is a teammate open to receive the ball... its all happening so quickly too.
They’re professional strikers though. They know to look for the square pass across goal because it’s 99.9% times the better play
@@dankplatypus420 How do you know what they know. Are you a professional football player? Strikers 'know' to score.
@@deadmanavir use better logic man. None of us commenting are professional soccer players, most of us played some soccer, all of us know passing across the face of the goal makes for an easier shot, because the goalie is then out of position.
@@dankplatypus420 @imjustdead it’s Harry Kane’s burner UA-cam account lol
@@deadmanavir Seeing as they're professional players, I'm sure they know a ton more than you, me, and everyone else in here combined. That means the best of strikers know how to pass, and the best of defenders know how to shoot a ball. Put a pro against a non-pro (like you or me) and they do EVERYTHING better than us. Absolutely everything. If you think different then get a reality check because you cannot do anything better than them, and neither can I. All strikers have is better odds of making a better shot over non-strikers. But if strikers have so little awareness they have no clue where their teammates are, they're not professional players because their poise in a clutch situation got the better of them, and now you're stuck if your position defending a great player saying they cannot pass. That means they're not great, and you have no defense to support they are great. Get a reality check. Get over yourself. I promise you don't play sports. You'll be the selfish one not passing because you're no good at passing.
Choupo-Moting is so unselfish he also gave his opposition a lending hand!
😂
I kinda get 1:44 though. That pass wasn't less risky than shooting himself and good chance he didn't see his teammate as it went quite fast.
Props to Defoe, for being nice to Gilberto after the free kick
6:36 and he still had a smile on his face☺️
Ronaldinho knew that was not selfish, anything good the team is not selfish.
That one wasn’t a steal it was going to miss he saved it if anything
I mean I was about to post this but might aswell put it under this comment, that wouldn't have gone in otherwise. Would have hit the post and he would have had to finish it anyway.
This is such a great video. Was expecting low effort typical YT quality but you found some great clips and added context and reactions. Some of them gave me a big smile on my face, well done
yes
ikr
The one with Ronaldinho really just looks like a good follow through. It kind of looked like he might have hit the post, plus his teammate was running through and ensured that it went in. Maybe it is a case of goal stealing, but it really does just look like following through on a shot.
It's not selfish in a lot of these, you're playing for a TEAM and getting the team to win is more important than individual ego.
clearly most people in the video care more for themselves than for their team
Mbappé called Neymar a bum for not passing the ball, but he did the same thing with Rafinha 😐
Because in his eyes its not "sexy" to assist rafinha , its only cool to assist messi or neymar, otherwise he better score himself. Thats why he will never reach even close to messi's level, messi would assist a goal to a team b player without thinking cause he care more about the team wining and not if he scored or his best friend scored
@@footbar3764 if u really think like that ur stupid. Like yea footballer who has to take decision in their head in matter of seconds of course thinks about to whom he will assist
@@footbar3764 for the moment (half season 21-22), Mbappé is in rank 1 for the most assists in Ligue 1, in rank 2 in Champions League and in rank 1 in National Team (France) in 2021.

Defoe hid his embarrassment with a smile!
nah the smile seemed genuine
Thats what everyone shud behave, u can fight for the same cause but u reach the goal u all shud celebrate together.
His reaction is a sign that he wanted to take it because he thought it was for the best of the team, and not simply because he wanted a chance for himself. His reaction seems to say: "Well, I can't argue with results!". Refreshing to see such genuine reactions from one of the most underrated legends of the game.

Neymar being so goal hungry that he stopped the ball going in by accident is peak
Kane made the right choice. Sterling with an open goal is far from guaranteed, plus he may have been given offside
Oh stop lying to yourself
@@cou1011 that really wasnt a hard shot for kane, he j missed it this time. i would trust kane every other time to take that. no need to pass there.
@@GarethMoras imo he looks fairly off side.
@@rivvelmusic yes he was offside
For the people who don't fully understand the offside rule, Sterling was onside as he was behind Kane. It doesn't matter that he was infront of the defence as he was behind the ball if Kane passed it
Reaction from Defoe was priceless. LMFAO
2:38 wasn't selfish. He was wide open, ready to tap it in. He got frustrated when the other guy was trying to walk it in
TURR IP IP IP!!!
A lot of these were things we cant know without being a member of the management team- anything regarding a penalty is planned out ahead of time, so things like Neymar asking for the pen and being rejected could be 100% reasonable if before the game the team agreed to let Cavani take it.
with regards to the passes people should have made - they aren't always selfish, sometimes your body shape doesn't allow you to make that pass, its a mistake however when things are happening that fast and you pictured yourself being in a better situation to shoot then you plan for that.
tap ins on the line "stealing" the goal is just good practice. you should always make 100% sure your team scores.
For me the biggest acts of selfishness were the ones that denied a goal to their own team, or people refusing to celebrate a goal. In the first case you're actively screwing your team over and in the second you are putting your ego ahead of the team. Both are pretty shitty attitudes imo.
Ok.
good take
Damn that does make a lot more sense now...thanks for your valuable input!!!
i agree
yeah, it's always easy to pick out the 3 tenths of a second where there was an easy pass to a player likely to score on a replay. Professionals will sometimes make it look easy and other times they just won't see them or won't be ready to pass at that crucial moment. They don't even get 2 seconds to think about whether their teammate has a better chance of scoring.
Kane shouldn’t have passed, he simply should have scored, that happened so quickly, the pass seemed easy but the shot made more sense in the moment.
Conversely Sterling wasn’t at fault with Ageuro, he over ran it and Sterling was on the overlap.
I'm also confused because his teammate was clearly offside foe the initial hit. I didn't see his position for the 2nd shot Kane ripped

For me, the only thing that matters is that the ball ends up in the back of the net. Aguero might've missed his shot, so I don't think Sterling was in the wrong.
Yes you are right, fundamentally we only want to score. However we can dissect the game and study specific players traits and body language to improve our insight.

Many of those "selfish moments " were acctually better than a pass that would end up in offside
Actually
5:28 yup. Knowing Sterling though.
The ones with Mbappe actually made sense. In both cases, at least from his vantage, it seems that the defender was closing at a pace that they could intercept the ball, so at best passing would lead to a corner, but a shot could lead to a corner or a goal if done optimally
Edit: Nvm, the third Mbappe clip at 5:35 is unacceptable
Defoe is just a silent Legend
1:48 he tried to pass the ball to Mbappe but the defender intercepted it so it was not a selfish moment
7:19 Choupo-Moting one was not selfish; he tried to avoid touching it at the very last second to make it Nkuku's goal. It ended up as a ridiculous mistake indeed but it's definitely not the same as Salah or Ronaldo not passing the ball.
Did you see Ronaldo’s touch?? You expect him to make a pass after that?
It’s easy to spot the pass from a birds eye view but Ronaldo didn’t see that bc he is looking down. He has more to do like worry about defenders unlike you who has a birds eye view
