In the 80's when my home was built, my house was covered only with Tyvek (no sheathing). I found out doing when doing some serious telecom and cable upgrades. I drilled through the siding right into Tyvek, then insulation. DuPont does say that only Tyvek can be used over studs, but strongly recommends sheathing first.
Builders here in New Zealand would love to be able to use that board made by Commerce Georgia but those Fletcher Construction bastards have a near-monopoly on certain building materials but the current government is looking to make it easier for sellers like Carters,ITM,Mitre 10,Placemakers and Bunnings Warehouse to import and sell equivalent overseas products that meet NZ Building Code requirements.
@@TheAmishElectrican well, they tore down the old addition, i think is what they mean. And had to remove part of the back upstairs. But it's what the homeowners wanted and i bet the final project is going to look stellar!
This show should be called how to spend the most possible money with a remodel, when you probably could have had a brand new custom house for less.... This show used to be about/for average people. Now every single season is some stuck up new england woman with a rich husband who thinks she's extra fancy.
Another excellent episode from your team! Thanks for posting it here!
Love your work especially when Tommy and Charlie are working together. Thanks for the video.
Same high quality and fast moving renovation! Thanks to the whole team!
Good video love the tree work. Wonderful video guys.
I own one of those Stihl BT45 drills. Bloody useful machines for drilling post holes, tree holes and construction work.

Hugely informative episode. Thanks for this.
I've seen that facility in Commerce and used Zip sheathing before. That's a hell of a place and that product works really well if you install it right
Cool to see the zip panels. I was wondering why all the new construction was bright green 😆
Jen😍😍
How much weight will that beam hold? How long is that beam by the way?

Okay you are walking around a construction site carrying your hard hat. Put it on your head.
Holding a hard hat in your hand doesn’t protect your head.
But it protects your hand. 😅
