What are some other battery options that you think would be powerful enough to run this set up and are more affordable? This battery seemed like overkill.
Depends on how long you plan to be out on the water and if you're running both sonar and a trolling motor. You can probably get by with a battery like: amzn.to/3tkcHxx

There you go! Are you planning on using that setup on lakes only? I suspect you'll need extra props if you go in the rivers.
For my local rivers, I usually just bring a paddle. I would use this on lakes, Ohio River, and certain sections of the Great Miami River. I'd probably use this on lakes if I ever do a kayak toruney again, but if I'm just hopping around on some of my local lakes... I'd probably just grab my pedal drive and go for it... never skip leg day!

Thanks! Yeah, that’s the downside of lithium. It’s expensive, however, it lasts twice as long, is safer, puts out more consistent power, charges faster, doesn’t have to be maintained, doesn’t need water added ever, and is super lightweight + five year warranty

Do you launch with a trailer or put it together in the water?
I just put it all together right next to the water and then slide it in the water when I’m ready. Once I paddle out to where it’s deep enough, I’ll drop the trolling motor down and start cooking.
