I have that plant but never knew the name. I have that plant. I purchased it 3 years ago. It was huge. However, I've' been working a lot and neglected it (at times). So, this year I cut it and put in a clear narrow vase. It created new roots and now it's thriving and growing. I am so happy about this video because I was thinking, what is the name of this plant? Well, I got the info from you! I love your content!! Thank you so much!! Ms. Pots.
@ElmerBaez-f5m hello to you! I'm so happy you shared that information. I'm so happy to hear that your BJ is dying well and is happy living in a vase. I was thinking about leaving this beauty in water. It seems to be very happy in it's place. 😊
Hi Rachael! I have a plant I’ve been meaning to re-pot for months. I FINALLY did it today. I immediately thought of you. 😊 I’ve been so busy, overwhelmed and just tired. So glad I have energy today and can tune-in to your wonderful channel.
@NaturallyCorporate heeeeey Regina! Happy Saturday! What kind of plant did you repot? I know what you mean about being busy. Everything seems to be moving so quickly right now. I watched your favorites this morning. I need EVERYTHING! I want to try the bath foam and especially the body scrubs that smell like coffee! I'll go back and watch again on my phone so I can tell you all the things you are making me "need" lol!
I absolutely concur. I've never had a plant thrive with those things attached. I ALWAYS remove them. 💚 experimentation, even if it's not on purpose. We learn so much that way...and it's the lessons that stick. I too love Ags, but they side-eye me so hard. I can't wait to add more to my collection.
Hi Rachael! Yes I have lost many plants back in the day over the baskets and the death wraps…And agree they are death traps! Love your BJ Freeman! It is looking beautiful! My frosted ghost you gifted me is still doing so lovely! Love it! Thanks for the nice video! Sending love your way! Love tina
Helllllllo My Tina!!!!!! I really think those baskets are fine in the beginning, but when they start to grow larger, they work against anything good for the plant. There are so many things that we are learning about plants in a greenhouse v at home care. The two are so very different. I hope all is well with you and your family. I am happy your frosted ghost is doing well.
You're absolutely correct with the plastic net pots. I've been trying to figure out why the decline and root loss after removing. Decided rather than repotting directly into a fresh soil mix, I'm going to place in water prior to repotting.
Yes, Dee! It seems as if the smaller plants are ok with the net pots, but the mature plants just suffocate from those nets. Thank you for sharing your experience😁
Hi Mona! Even the stems of the plants with the cages were weaker than the others. It's amazing the difference it makes over time. Thank you for watching! 😊
@@LatinaPlants I have not done that in some time now. I don't have many left. They get nervous when I pass them in my house. I'm always watering these plants! Lol!
@@LatinaPlants thank you so much. It had been so hard getting good lighting in this room. I really appreciate your feedback on that. The grow lights seem to make it hard to balance.
Hi Rachael I agree the mesh and the cages are not healthy in my opinion. No breathing room or growing room for that matter. Your plants always look so healthy and beautiful💚
Hi Lisa! That's it! There is no room for the roots to breathe. I really believe that they are great for the juvenile plant to grow big leaves and then get out into a big pot, but the change over has to happen to make the plant continue to do well.
Hey Rachael! This video was very needed, and informative (and as usual, you're beautiful as always!) I have had Ags with the cages on and off, but to be honest, I still struggle with them in soil. In my experience, they seem to do best in hydro, or in the self watering pots. I know people don't love the self watering pots, but I have had great success with them! I let the water reservoir dry out, and them refill 'em 4-5 days later.. My Ags in those pots seem more flexible with lighting too, and they take some work off me, so it's a win-win:)
I agree with you! My Ags loved the self watering vessels. They take control of their moisture. Thank you so much for your sweet feedback! Happy Tuesday!
I break the mess in half but do not remove it, to handle the roots less as possible. The plastic mess I clip in fours but do remove it. I do not get shock this way. I have Aglaonema Maria, Chocolate, Madonna and Pictum Tri Color. 👍🏾Video💚 🪴Happy Planting🌿
Hi MsLadyJune! That had to make a big difference for the roots. Those roots are so big that the tiny cages need to be broken up. I never thought about just opening the cages. Thank you for sharing your experience! I have yet to see an Aglaonema chocolate in person! They are gorgeous!
That seems to be the way to go, Agnes. I'm sure the little cages a great for the small plants. The plants grow so nicely in the beginning with them. It's the mature plant that seems to have a problem with those tiny cages. Thank you for sharing ☺️
Good evening Rachael I have a plant that is not doing well so after looking at this I’m going to have to look to see if I have some on my plant thanks for the video
@ Good evening Rachael I have not took the time to check with the holidays around the corner I just have so much going on but first chance I get I will check it out. It’s not doing too bad so I think I have a little time. I totally agree that the mesh and cages do make a difference, and I remove them whenever I find them.❤😊

Believe the way the roots were just melting away in the cage.
@lotsofpots.Rachael Yeah ,some people say it doesn't hurt but I have to disagree with my experience.

@PhiliciaTaylor thank you so much, Philicia! Those cages are definitely not good for big root growth.

Yeah that mesh doesn't dissolve. I don't like that either 😘
I am convinced that the mesh puts destroy mature plants. My plant in this video is living in semihydro now. It is happy and cage free.
