  • Filmed on Wednesday, August 16 2023, I drive around the village Plain, WI to see what's going on.
The village's origins date back to the early 1850s when the Cramer brothers, John, Jeremiah, Adam, and Solomon Sr., moved to the area from Ohio. Initially known as Cramer's Corners, the village soon adopted the name Plain, although the origins of this name are widely speculated and remain a point of local folklore. Despite its name, the village has grown and evolved, challenging the "plainness" its name might suggest.
Plain formally became a village in 1912 and has since developed a strong sense of community and tradition. The village is host to a variety of festivals throughout the year, celebrating everything from its Bavarian heritage to local businesses and community spirit.
Education and community involvement are important to the residents of Plain, with the village hosting a variety of events and activities throughout the year. From the Sommerfest in June to the Strassenfest in October, there is always something happening in Plain.
The village also takes pride in its public services, with a dedicated fire department and EMS service that not only serve the community but also contribute to its vibrant social calendar.
Despite its small size, Plain, Wisconsin, is a village with a big heart, rich history, and a strong sense of community. Whether you're visiting for one of the many festivals or simply passing through, you're sure to be welcomed with open arms and a warm smile in Plain.

I grew up in Plain in the 50's & 60's and have only gone back a handful of times so I very much enjoyed this video. I grew up just three houses from the school and church. I wish you had included in the video the swimming pool, tennis court and baseball diamond downtown. Also, there’s a "newer" section across the highway that was not there when I grew up that I wish had been included in the video. Nevertheless, thank you for this video.
