pausing the video to go check if I had any of the same issues on my much neglected always out of tune bigsby equipped guitar... yup... Thank you sir you've given and old guitar a second chance
Me watching video: hmmmm looks cool.....hmmmm sounds good in the bridge, not too brittle.....ooohhh middle and neck sound really good.....then, I hit 12:25 - YES!!!! THE tone!!!! Great review. Thanks!
It's so funny watching you attempt to enjoy it out the box... we all know your throwing thick stings on it and jumping up and down on that spring and breaking it in hahaha... your OCD has made you become the UA-cam set up super hero...
Hey man great video/review! Harmony should be thankful to you for catching that out and for making other people like me buy one of their guitars, you totally deserve a freebie!
Hell yeah! Been with my eye on one of these for a while... the bigsby initially sold it for me for sure. Glad you got a chance to share one of these with us & also showcase how you fixed it man!
Mike- Thanks for being the "Offset Prophet". Loved your articles on the Guitar Bar Blog way back before I got my Jazzmaster. Happy to discover you're just as great and informative on-video. I'd love to see a video on the quest to create your Rivers and Matt instruments. Cheers!
Yesterday I learned from Dylan Talks Tone that another issue with a Bigsby (but on carved top guitars) is over-tightening of the mounting screws as it deforms the vibrato body and it will catch and not return to pitch.
I have the hard tail version of this guitar. I love it. My only complaint is that it has a little bit of neck dive. Nothing serious but wondered if the weight of the Bigsby might offset that a little. This is literally my favorite channel on UA-cam!
I'm the second owner of a 1964 Silhouette, and LOVE that guitar. I have one with the Hagstrom trem.. what a great unit. I picked it up in closet classic condition in 1997. Sometimes though, I wish I had known in 1998, what I know now about the DeArmond gold foil mustache pickups it came with. I ended up routing it out for hotter, modern single coils. Around 2001, I ended up putting humbuckers in it, and that's what it has to this day. Honestly, I'm kind of glad that I didn't know back then, because I wouldn't have modified it, and it wouldn't be as useful as it is now and see as much playing as it does.
Kind of weird to me that I never heard of Trogly or you and I have been watching all the trogly stuff and then I find your vids and the first one I watched you mention Trogly....now I have more vids to watch being newly retired forced by my doctors to not work...thanks for taking the time to show us stuff. good player too.
Just got one of these. Shimmed the neck and that solved the strings popping out of the saddles with high bends, but I’m having the same bigsby issue. Thanks for the help
Not sure how much you read comments but I love the channel man. I don’t any offsets yet but they’re some of my favorite guitar designs. Personally I’d love to see a video on the Fender Maverick, as well as the Marauder especially after your conversation with Carlos Lopez. If they’re hard to get your hands on, might I suggest a video on the history and design in the vein on Five Watt World. Anyways, thanks for the fantastic content and cheers to many years of success and offsets!
What a killer guitar. I too feel the need for my guitars to have a vibrato system. My lone hardtail guitar is tuned to double drop D so that kinda switches up my constant need to grab a bar to do a pitch dip. Side note, your playing is magical. Your style, riffing, and chord voicings are my favorite flavors.
I impulse bought a white silhouette a few months ago. It's as high quality as anything I've ever played. If you're considering one I'd recommend it. Amazing guitars.
I put this guitar in my cart last week. It was either this or the Ampro II JM. But I’ve never been able to bond with a Tele type guitar. The best tele I’ve ever owned was back in the 90’s - it was a Japan made fake flame thing. But I sold it, and I was afraid that the Harmony would be too much Tele-like. However, looking at how you enjoyed playing this and Harmony’s positive response, I’ll really give the Harmony another go.
Smart man .God blessed you with info ite determination . Nice discovery and solution. You played great too. Thanks for your journey video I loved it. God's continued blessings in on your life
Ahaaah, the "reaching for an unexisting trem arm" issue, I've arrived there just recently. I pretty much only played my Jaguar for the few months I've had it now, turns out I'm doing some funny shiet with my trem hand when I'm picking up the Tele now. :')
Something popped into my head: anyone know where I can find Vava’s work/the albums she’s been on? Maybe any social media’s if she has any? I hear all this talk about her work and how good of a guitarist she is, but I’ve never gotten a chance to her hear playing. This isn’t me doubting it, I just wanna hear what she has to offer. :)
Cool. The price is out of my reach, sadly. As for the Bigsby arm movement vs actual effect, I like to replace the standard spring with a Brick’sBiggsFix “super squishy spring”, which provides more range of motion for the arm.

I love you're channel. Not only because you are sunshine but also because you always go deeper than most of guita youtubers
Keep on shinning!
💖
The next person to get that guitar for a review is gonna give it a 10/10 just for your setup alone
I kinda hope that happens lol
I was just listening to this with headphones on, and phone in my pocket, 100% convinced this was the 60 cycle hum channel.
Great content!
HOT DAMN those last demos (post-repair) sound amazing! What a gorgeous guitar.
That last wiggle of the Bigsby was so great to see, such a sense of joy and achievement! Thanks for sharing
Me watching video: hmmmm looks cool.....hmmmm sounds good in the bridge, not too brittle.....ooohhh middle and neck sound really good.....then, I hit 12:25 - YES!!!! THE tone!!!! Great review. Thanks!
Impressed by your ability to detect .01 difference on the nut!
Mike has a positronic brain
Unbelieveable how you every single time get these trems to be this stable! Great job, man!!
Nice review, and nice to hear Harmony follows up on issues.
Just when I thought I'd seen all the Wicked Games UA-cam content after all the reaction videos, my ol' pal Mike doesn't disappoint! 😂
Sounds great, and Harmony is fortunate to be getting your input to fix the problem with the Bigsby.
It's so funny watching you attempt to enjoy it out the box... we all know your throwing thick stings on it and jumping up and down on that spring and breaking it in hahaha... your OCD has made you become the UA-cam set up super hero...
The wicked games playing was killer. Nice surprise!
Hey man great video/review! Harmony should be thankful to you for catching that out and for making other people like me buy one of their guitars, you totally deserve a freebie!
One of my favorite guitars in my collection is a 1968 Harmony H64 with a factory Bigsby, nice to see they're getting back to them again!
Hell yeah! Been with my eye on one of these for a while... the bigsby initially sold it for me for sure. Glad you got a chance to share one of these with us & also showcase how you fixed it man!

Your riffs are outstanding.
Glad you're moving towards getting regular content out of your new home! I like the sound of this harmony, have never seen one before. cheers!

The Bigsby really adds to the sound of the Silhouette. What a fantastic sounding instrument.

I love your process. Thanks for walking us through it!
Wow, your playing is 🔥!!!
Mike, that medium drive demo time was so lush my friend.
That medium drive clip slayed me!

Always love your videos!!!
I really love what Harmony is doing, great guitars. My 1972 Harmony Rebel in avocado burst might need a new friend.

Great review of a guitar I'd have probably not looked for on my own!
I love the sound of that guitar and it is a good looking one too!
Just got one of these. Shimmed the neck and that solved the strings popping out of the saddles with high bends, but I’m having the same bigsby issue. Thanks for the help

7:41 I couldn’t climb the rope in gym class because of my loose arms. Thank you for your support.
Enjoyed your fuzzed out jam. Your country riffs are pretty rad. Any chance of another lesson? Lol. Keep up the good work, man!
Bigsby totally suited to the silhouette. Excellent. 😎

Honesty….!!! I like this guy already. I’m gonna subscribe.

Those are some beautiful riffs!
The sillo is the best guitar Ive played in years. Totally shocked. I bought one completely blind too.
I use my Silhouette for most of my recordings...it really is, just.. such a great guitar.
Step on your spring 30 or 40 times to break it in. Never heard that one but I'm going to do that with one of mine.
Vinnie! The more I think about it, the more I like "Return to Zero" for a band name.
Nice review! Id be more interested if they offered some other colors. The shape is kinda out there so i could see it looking great in some fun colors.
Smart man .God blessed you with info ite determination .
Nice discovery and solution. You played great too. Thanks for your journey video I loved it.

Running to check my Bigsby haha

I do it every time!
Mad that Bigsby's been making that same unit for what? 55 years or so? And they can still put out units like that.
i want to buy this now.
Nice kicks! Impressive greeking.
I would have liked to have known the pickup type? Firebird PUs? Minihumbuckers?
What is that Hymn type chord sequence you always play when demoing guitars? Thanks, Pete...
Anybody know which Harmony model this is?
I'm curious if you've ever tried a G&L Doheny and what your thoughts are on that guitar.
Is the body routed to accept full size humbuckers?
How does this hold up to Fender Vintera Jazzmaster ? It's just a bit more $ for the Harmony
I’ve got a vintage Silhouette with neck issues (design and wear). Kinda want to put a Danelectro neck on it. What do you think?
Is that Bigsby a B5 or B50?
Something popped into my head: anyone know where I can find Vava’s work/the albums she’s been on? Maybe any social media’s if she has any? I hear all this talk about her work and how good of a guitarist she is, but I’ve never gotten a chance to her hear playing.

Just saying the harmony with the bigsby wiggle stick looks boss
They really should let you keep that one. Harmony's lucky that they had you point out the issues with the trem.
As much as I like the gold foils, I would love to see one of these with the Curtis Novak Thunderbirds
I think about those pickups every day lol
madman heals the ailed instrument, and then begins playing wicked game. nice
They really should give u that guitar just for figuring out the issue with the Bigsby!
Get an original Kahler. I just got my first. Mind Blown. No other trem comes close.
what's the medium drive you're using? i want that sound >:)
very cool guitar

The fuzz tone was awesome. Which pedal did you use?
yer so freakin' great, michael .. .
oh that's nice, that's real nice
You could do the demo of this beauty with an Harmony 6 series amp 😜
Just bought a Jupiter. I wish I waited just few days to know there was a silhouette with bigsby coming :/
Do it Mike! WooF!!
Anyone else wish they'd used a different bridge on this model?
Ok, enlighten me, what's the name of that tune you always play? ;D
My Harmony Silhouette had awful fretwork. Like sandpaper 😂😭
I was watching this in bed and my partner turned to me and said "is that Andy from the office's Voice?"
I wonder if the licensed b-50 might actually be superior to the original b-5. Love your videos. Always great playing and useful info. Thanks.
❤️❤️
Look at you sneaking in some Chris Issak lol
And that demo is why it's not called a Smallsby
As expensive as Bigsby's are, they shouldn't have these inherent issues in manufacture.
Real luthiers knows real problems
I have a Harmony Silhouette, a 1963 H17. It's a REAL Silhouette. Before they changed the name to the stupid Bobkat.
Broke the 666 likes 😂
WTF ? You have to take a FILE to a $1500 guitar ? Ridiculous.
You could cut 5 minutes off this video by not reiterating your biases & it's just a first impression ad nauseam.
