Great video. Only Downside is with the Citroen. Wouldn't touch a PSA car with a barge pole due to their unreliable electrics. Son had a 12 month old RCZ which was fraught with faults. Going into limp mode on motorways wasn't funny.

Hi. I plan to buy a car soon. How should or what should I look for in checking used cars based on MOT and servicing history? I am no mechanic so I have to base on what is available online. Thanks
great vid , subbed! Looking for a new car, preferably with 3 car seats but not an MPV.. only option is an peugeot 5008 SUV. Really trying not get a MPV but the mrs is going into childminding so may have to bend the knee. Any suggestions on cars?

Some great cars there. I did notice the last car you showed was for sale with ‘Repossessions UK’. Do you know much about this seller? Also, how would you feel about buying a finance repossession?
I currently have a Ford Firsta, I am looking to upgrade to a small used SUV. So far Honda HRV looks the best, I am still doing research, open to recommendations, this video appreciated
I had a 2016 HRV from new until 2019 - mine was a top spec EX model with the 1.5 Petrol. The car was really well built, very reliable - never had a single issue apart from slight lacquer peel on the alloys. However, i’d recommend the diesel for a little more low down shove as the 1.5 Petrol (no turbo) had to be worked quite hard on faster roads and inclines due to the lack of torque. I’d aim for an EX spec if you can because they have a considerable amount of extra kit over S and SE models.
@@DefinitelyNotAGuru I'd prefer an Estate too (they drive better, are more economical and have more room) - but a Saloon is my preferred pick. I've tried a few SUVs (Ford Kuga, Freelander 2, Range Rover, Vauxhall Mokka) - and I feel like I'm driving a transit van. They all feel like soulless boxes on wheels.
@@DefinitelyNotAGuru Brilliant news on that mate as it seems the thieves, scammers and nasty peeps doing this has sort of escalated to to bonkers proportions these days 😠😠😠😠 So your subs will deffo appreciate n thank u for ur time in making that video 👍 As soon as you post it I’ll share my story bout camper vans and the crazy high prices they’re selling for these days and the current scam being used on unsuspecting customers 😳 And how even me a seasoned car buyer was scammed out of £40k + for a camper from a reputable specialist company where I actually went to the bosses house in Surrey, where his swimming pool was bigger than the downstairs of my house, to collect it 🤔
You need to use real world fuel consumption figures. My Hyundai 1.7 cdi manages about 37 mpg if only used round town and 43 mpg on a long motorway run. Nowhere near the 62mpg you quoted. Good car though.

It’s been a while but I’ll be doing one a week, that’s the plan anyway
Good video, great content, good advice ..thanks for your efforts 👍
Thanks Jock 👍
Need more similar videos, even with some "normal day to day cars"
👌
Yes the Mazda CX-5 is generally very reliable. The petrol models are more reliable.
The diesel Mazda's have had DPF problems,. diesel in the oil etc.
Yeah, that's why I picked the petrol in this one but they're quite hard to get hold of, diesels must have outsold them about 8:1
Only prob with the petrol version there’s not enough grunt ☹️
just a shame they so bloody ugly
I would never buy a Mazda diesel after my experience with the Mazda 6 Skyactive diesel.

Yep, I've heard similar in the past but know of several people with those Picasso's who haven't had any issues and have had them for years.
I've had 4 Peugeots and one Citroen and never had an electric problem with any.
2014 on Picasso diesels are great roomy economical, keep serviced and you should have no issues👍
Hi has I took your advice and used v check on the car I just purchased value at £9.99 for peace of mind when your spending your own money👍🥳
👍
Great advice as ever Jim 👍.
Thank you 🙏
Great advice. Thanks.

Petrol CRV is a good chain drive petrol engine, but you'll be lucky to get low 30s mpg around town, maybe 40mpg at a gentle 70mph.
👍👍👍
What engines are best for the Yeti? I’m assuming the model you showed has had previous issues.
The lesser spotted 1.4 petrol is my pick
Nice 1 Jim great video 👍👍
Cheers Wayne

To be fair mate an MPV would probably be best. Galaxy (manual) is decent, Grand Picasso is worth a look too (if you’re getting a fairly new one). 👍

No I don’t but can’t see it being an issue. The fact it’s been repo’d basically means the finance is no more so it wouldn’t bother me to be fair.
For vcheck, is it 1 time payment to check for all cars? Or everytime you check for the history of the car you need to pay? Thanks!
£10 per car for the top check

Some good choices here... unfortunately for me I just don't like (and don't get the 'craze') for SUVs.
I still prefer an estate much of the time but I’m warming up to SUVs a bit
