I usually don't comment but I appreciate the level of detail in this man's presentation. Good job sir.

I know people love these little ones, but after 30yrs of all things construction, the 7” has never left me

Swanson - a company that has made life immeasurably easier. As a senior, I am not likely to need it but I'll buy one anyway. Excellent presentation.

Very good explanation. Recently I read about Swanson releasing this square, however I could not understand any reason for purchasing it; have both Swanson's regular and twelve inch square. Hum, now I need to purchase one of these, I like the size as well.
    Two compliments on your video:
    1. Camera is mounted, thank you,
    2. Video without annoying background music, double thank you.
    Continue with the good work.

I need this square for my trim pouch setup. I gotta say, you sir went into extreme detail about this square. Lots of things I didn’t know about them and you explained everything very well. Kudos.

Only recently got back into carpentry, and got given a speed square which was pretty crappy. Upon finding out that Swanson is the original and see the usage of it I'll be buying the Swanson speed square set. Thanks for the informative video.

The only angles I knew before this were on a snooker table, thanks for the information.

You sir are a very good teacher, I’m always amazed you know how to keep any video interesting, and I’ve learned a lot from you. You would have made a great vocational teacher, in any course that you would have taught in. Thank you.Brian..

These are great for finding the plumb cut on 2×6 rafters, as a regular sized speed square will hit the roof decking so you have to add a block to the bottom of the rafter or some other "trick" whereas this can be placed directly on the rafter without hitting the roof decking.

The milwaukee trim square has a more refined and polished look but the swanson seems more well thought out and functional.

Just watched your excellent video on the Swanson mini speed square. Very informative and entertaining. I've been looking for a compact, multi function square for some time, and this bad boy looks like it fits the bill. Over here in the UK, we work mainly on the metric system, but construction timber still comes in imperial dimensions, and I'm old enough to still feel comfortable with inches and feet. That aside, the other tricks you illustrated make it a worthwhile investment. Thanks for sharing! 👍

All 3 of their speed squares are nice. I would like to find out how much accuracy they are building into these.

Hi, really enjoyed the video, I’ve just purchased the 41/2” Swanson so now I know nearly all of its features. But could you explain what the 4 dots are for near the lip of the square, I’m guessing it’s 2” long with the dots at 0, 1”, 11/2”, and 2”. Many thanks.

Also for making mutiple same marks on you degree angle you can use a brass stair gauge to set what degree you want and make many marks and its set your square wont slip trying to hold the angle .

Thank you for the fine presentation. However, you must have realized your angles are off. You didn't use the tool as designed; consequently, you actually made the complimentary angles of the ones you thought you were making. For example, your 22 1/2 degree angle is really a 67 1/2 degree angle and your 30 degree angle is actually a 60 degree angle. If the tool is used as designed, the 22 1/2 and 30 degree angles can be made in a flash. Bye the bye, many other presenters are doing it like you, but it's not the best way.
