‘Twin-track approach’ to promote the inclusion of persons with disabilities

In Cambodia, German Development Cooperation has followed a ‘twin-track approach’ to promote the inclusion of persons with disabilities. Together with disabled people’s organisations and provincial health departments, the two GIZ Projects “Improving Maternal and Newborn Care Project” and “Social Health Protection Project” designed and implemented a package of measures to improve persons with disabilities’ awareness and utilisation of health services. For example, trainings on sexual and reproductive health and rights have been developed with and for persons with disabilities and implemented with the Cambodian Disabled People’s Organisation in 2017 and 2018.
In cooperation with the GIZ sector project ‘Inclusion of persons with disabilities’ a film was developed to show how GIZ comprehensively work with the disability movement and how persons with disabilities benefit from this.
