People just liked Skyfall because of Roger Deakins' excellent photography work, Judi Dench's goodbye as M and Javier Bardem's acting (to be honest dude is a talented actor as bad guys here and in No Country for Old Men). However all the best things ain't involving Bond himself. No offense to Daniel Craig but Bond himself is the most weakest part of the film
SOMEONE FINALLY SAID IT, IT'S BAD To be fair I hate Sam Mendes, I think he's the most overrated director. The DC era started off alright with what could've been a one-off or a very good start of a powerful era but each new movie kept getting worse, they missed every opportunities to do the right thing and God knows there were many.
thank you i been saying this movie is dog shit since it's came out i don't know why people say it's one the best bond movies... maybe bc all the key jangling and self referencing stuff
It's nice to know there are other people not bowled over by Skyfall. I was predisposed not to be very enthused by the film because I'm not a fan of the Craig era (and in honesty I think a lot of what makes Bond Bond doesn't work in this century, and they should drop the series and just let us enjoy the old ones. Make these films if you think they are good, but don't waste time and effort trying to call them Bond films), but a lot of the things you mentioned are solid reasons on their own to dislike it. It didn't feel like a Bond movie, the end segment felt like it was a different film to the rest of it and those bits referring to the old standbys of older Bond films (like exploding gadgets) don't feel clever or anything positive. Both the Moneypenny thing and delving into the details about Bond's parents and his upbringing didn't impress me; just because it is theoretically possible to say 'what if...' or delve into something doesn't mean that one should. By the way, I think the plot is that this was Moneypenny before she became a secretary, so in the timeline of Skyfall she isn't a secretary being shoved into a situation totally out of her range of experience or training (though the probability of anyone making that shot against wrestling opponents on a moving train would not be good, it simply wasn't a good idea to order the shot). But it then makes no sense for Moneypenny to become a secretary - she retires from fieldwork because of the knock to her confidence and not wanting to be in such a situation again, fine, but why then would she not become directly involved in spy stuff working behind a desk? Just because she's a woman, we are supposed to think it makes sense for her to become a secretary, lol. They wouldn't suggest to Bond, if he were to retire from the field after a traumatic incident, that he might become a secretary or take over from a soon to be retired tea lady, for goodness' sake. I presume the decision to give Moneypenny a spy background was a lazy attempt at feminism, giving her a glamorous action role in the saga, but then it makes her (and M, another female character) clumsy people, as if the film is trying to say "See, we put the women in these positions but they cocked up, it seems they really are only good for looking pretty and typing!". Not exactly empowering of women, is it. That, in addition to the fact that it doesn't make sense for Moneypenny to go from spy to secretary, is why the spy who accidentally shoots Bond should have been another character. It's meant to jazz up Moneypenny's background but there was never a need to do that, and the fact that her spy role is never referenced in any of the prior Bond movies makes it instantly implausible.
I'm pretty sure you're not the only one who thinks this movie is bad.Because there's this one UA-cam channel called End Credit Reviews and they made a video talking about why this movie is overrated.I'm talking about SkyFall if you want to know what i'm talking about
While Skyfall is my favorite film in the franchise, I completely understand and respect your opinion. If I’m being honest, I think it’s my favorite because it was my intro to the series. I remember when it came out, bought the DVD, and watched it for the first time. If I’m speaking on a more objective level, actually analyzing the films, Casino Royale is by the far the best in the franchise imo
Can’t wait for the rest of this series

He's a buffoon in this one.
They at least should a vulnerable Bond at his lowest , it shows 007 can be a multidimensional character
@@jommyfonseca6109 There were other Daniel Craig movies that showed that.
"People only liked the movie because of the the great stuff in the movie"
@@jamestorrie6550no, most of the stuff in the movie are crap.
It insists upon itself.

And DAD is great, consistent (!? Yes), and highly entertaining. (idc what anybody says)
I like Sam Mendes when he's directing dramas.

Love Bond movies, but HP villainous character seemed unbelievable but Bond Movies require suspension of disbelief anyhow

Im very curious about your review on the latest Bond "No time to die". This movie fucked things up even harder than Skyfall... 😲🥴
I disagree, No Time to Die was one of my favorites.

Nothing but the truth
There isn’t a single Daniel Craig James Bond movie that’s any good
Yes there is.
Casino royale, no time to die
No, TOTALLY DISAGREE with your assessment. The criticism you levy sound utterly ridiculous and frankly make zero sense.
Provide an example.
