That's not the ACC way. They like to raid the Big East, which the AAC is basically Big East 2.0 so they'll go after USF, ECU, and Navy, plus convince UCon to leave the Independent scene.
Sure, VT needs a win or two. Also, don't forget JMU, ODU and Eastern Carolina. We can be the Sunbelt of the East Coast once Clemson and FSU leave.

@@etwa8206 The story goes that, when oil money started pouring into state coffers, the state was going to set aside the same amount of money for both A&M and UT, the only two state schools at the time. A&M was the smaller school and said, "We'll just take a percentage equivalent to our size." Hence all the dumb Aggie jokes.

@WelRedd I agree, and disagree. Trust me..., they can't keep Georgia Tech off their minds. The latest rumor is Georgia Tech possibly going into the Big Ten (hopefully, they'll soon realize that their are more than 10 teams).
Well GT was one of the founding teams of the SEC but left in the 60's due to disagreeing with some sketchy practices by other teams that the conference refused to crack down on.

As an Auburn fan I am slightly pissed we didn't get Florida. Florida is Auburn's third most played game historically, but game got set aside after the conference went to only 1 permanent team from the other half of the conference. Auburn kept UGA which is the oldest rivalry game in the South. Instead of putting 2 traditional rivals back against each other they kept Florida's manufactured rivalry with LSU.

Just a reminder that Mizzou has more SEC Championship game appearances than six teams in the conference and we’ve been more recently than eight teams in the conference.
I'm a UK fan that appreciate Mizzou. It hurts my soul that y'all have been there twice and we never have, and I feel a kinship as an outsider, since Kentucky is the basketball school I've many times gotten the vibe that we don't really belong, even though I'm the rare football first UK guy.

After 2024, we split the schools into SEC Premier League and SEC Championship League with the best teams in Premier and the rest in Championship. In 2025, we start SEC promotion and relegation.

The fact that we can’t play the 3 closest teams to us (and our 3 biggest conference rivals) is messed up. But that’s what happens when the SEC picks things.
As a Georgia fan I consider South Carolina a bigger rival than Kentucky but I’m pretty sure ESPN is behind the schedules. They obviously want the match up that will bring in the best ratings.

The Big Ten's schedule overhaul is just as bad, Penn State isn't guaranteed to play Ohio State or Michigan in any given year, and they're really Penn State's only two chances to prove their strength within the conference

As a Texan, Austinite, and Longhorn. I appreciate this. I don't think we will do well, but I think Texas Football will learn alot. You can bet that Texas v. A&M is going to be sold out. First time we met since 2011, since right after Bama broke us. That rivalry coming back is going to generate so much cash flow. I will admit, it feels a bit empty without Texas Tech or Baylor or TCU in the mix. Bittersweet, but the program must move on and hopefully grow from its immediate failures.
The matchup with the horns is exactly what this UK fan needed to finally commit to going to Austin. Should be a great trip, hopefully they get things worked out for a 9 game 3-6-6 format so we can keep playing Tennessee.
