thank you this was straight to the point and vey useful!
Thank you for this instructional video, its still out here helping so much!
after watching UA-cam videos i opened shopify & i wouldn't recommend any one shopify i did a basic plan and got charged more then 800$ and the support doesn't even care there just telling me its your problem and they don't want to help with anything they just snatch what they can after they try to sell you a side hustle they hustle you
The customer support has been very good in my experience. How did they charge you 800? The basic plan is $29 per month + first month $1 only? Did you check the URL?
@@jameezybreezy9030 they put me on the 399$ plan instead of the 39$ plan that i registered and i found out in the second month after they already charged me 2 times and they didn't want to refund me for it even though i didn't even open a shop and i just registered they just want to take everything they can it was probably some bug but they didn't take any responsibility that y I'm not going to work with them
Is there a way to add the item to the drop down menu when adding to the inventory, like say if I wanted to add 15 t-shirts, do I have to add each one individually this way or is there a way to add them to a drop down menu when I add them to the inventory?
This was extremely helpful!
Thanks for the positive feedback! We're happy to hear you found the video to be helpful!
Very Good! Very helpful!
How do you link the menu to a select group of products, do i have to create a new Product Collection ? Or can i select only 5 out of the 10 products in my current collection.
Can I link the menu to a Product Tag like a search?
thank you so much!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! ❤
I did it thank you ❤
How do I make a sidebar menu?
How if my nested menu items are horizontal how can I change them to be vertical like the above menu ?
I’ve done this but for example, I can’t click on equipment to see everything at once under equipment. I have to click on fitness trackers or yoga equipment separately. How can I set it so the customer can click the overall category and see every product under it?
Hi, Damon! You should be able to add menu-items in the same way for your menu headers as you have for the drop down menu items: bit.ly/2SuGRuY. If you're having trouble with that, it could be an issue with your theme.
I had the same problem, did you fix it?
How to make menu items horizontal in desktop version in venture theme .Mine is only vertical both desktop and mobile
Hi I tried adding
"add menu item" and typing the what I need to search at the "name" but there's no drop down when I try to search. It's not suggesting anything.
p.s. I am using a free version.
The drop-down nested menu doesn't show up on the mobile version of my store. It's still a side bar menu
Hey there! Thanks for reaching out. Can you tell me what theme you're using in your Shopify store? Once I know that I'll be able to point you in the right direction for support.
How Can I Hide a Collection in the List Dropdown Menu
Nice work
thanks!
No problem. Thanks for watching!
Couldn't find the next video in the series - the one with the subcategories in dropdown menus.
Thanks for reaching out! We don't have a specific video about subcategories in dropdown menus, but you should be able to follow the steps about nested menus in this video to achieve something like that. You can use the drag & drop method on the little dots to move or 'nest' a subcategory menu item underneath a main category. We have some more detailed information on our help docs here than you can check out - bit.ly/2ZE1ZSY. Hope that helps!
Hi can I create nested menue in the nested menu...??
Super easy to learn !
Thanks for sharing your positive feedback💚
Hi! Menu items should be horizontal by default in your venture theme bit.ly/3uUBoi7. Did you make code edits to the theme?
I hope I'm not too late with this question but my first level nested menu's stay vertical and generate a new click down arrow. How do i make these first level menu's horizontal like in the video?
It's never too late! we are always happy to help out as best as we can. This is a great question and can depend on a couple things. One, it may depend on the Theme you are using. A Theme may automatically have a "horizontal" theme or a vertical, "Hamburger" type menu. In some themes if you have two many menu-items it will even switch your horizontal menu into a Hamburger-menu to make room for the additional menu item. If you are using a third-party theme, I would recommend reaching out to the developers of your theme to look into this request. If you are using a Shopify theme, I recommend reaching out to one of our live support advisors via our Help Center: bit.ly/3eNr2bD so they can take a closer look into this with you.
@@ShopifyHelpCenter Thank you so much! I was thinking of switching to a third party theme so i will figure it out with them :D
Thank you!
You're welcome!

Can I receive payments with a cibc debit card savings account and take payouts on shopify?
Hi there! I recommend checking out the bank account requirements for Shopify Payments: bit.ly/3oVlVJZ
Please make sure that your bank account meets these requirements before you connect it to Shopify Payments.

Why is it that my Sales Channel section only shows themes and preferences? I do not have nearly as many options as are displayed in this video-including the option to click Navigation.
Hi, Shayla! When you click on 'Online Store' in the Sales channels section, you should see the following items appear underneath Online Store in the sidebar menu: Themes, Blog posts, Pages, Navigation, Preferences. If you're still not seeing them, please get in touch with us via the Shopify Help Center so we can take a look with you: bit.ly/3eNr2bD.
I've done everything in the first video and this one but only a few off my collections show any product in the menu bar and the ones that do when I click on the drop down it just shows all the products example.. I have jewelry when I click the drop down bracelet it still pops up with all the jewelry.
I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. My main menu is a left side menu if that helps.
Hi Kristi! Would you like to reach out to our team here so we can take a look together? bit.ly/3f8AW7x. Very likely we can walk through some adjustments and get your products and collections appearing just as you'd like them to!
Helpful, thanks!
Thanks for watching, Micah!
I cannot get the 2nd level to work...I am applying the same method. Help!

Drop down menus not working for footers!
Its funny how this info is free n direct ut gets only 30k views
while ppl pay hundreds to be taught this...
Hi I'm looking for the video on adding header and footer menu's
Thanks
Hey! This video: bit.ly/3HWr1Ov goes over how to edit menu items, add a main (header) and footer menu. So this will walk you through the steps you need! How is your store coming along so far?
How do I get mine to go that wide and that spread out. My one just turns into a list, like the categories are underneath each other instead of next to each other? I don’t want to make a mega menu as I don’t like have the pictures.
Hey, Deveh! The best way to achieve the same menu like the one in the video is to use a mega menu app. I recommend checking out Buddha Mega Menu Navigation: bit.ly/30dWjzF. You can create different types of menus with the app, so it's doable to create one without pictures. I hope that works out for you!
Is there a way to put the menu on the side of the website instead of on the top ?
Moving your navigational menu to the side of the screen is definitely possible. This can be done by selecting certain themes or applying certain lines of code into your store templates. Checkout this document from our Help Center about themes and navigation: bit.ly/3sv5o37.
I don't know why
when I will prepare menu, I can't save it
Hey there! Are you receiving an error when trying to save your menu? - Moira
Is yoga equipment linked to a collection in this tutorial? because when I nest under second level drop down it's telling me yoga equipment hast to be linked to a collection which means after I save it, yoga equipment becomes a link that's clickable to customers as well as yoga mats is that supposed to happen? Because when I click on second level menu titles on other websites, it's NOT" linked to a collection for some reason for example ((YOGA EQUIPMENT)) without anything linked to it, so how come my second level drop down menu title is a clickable link after I save it and not for other websites you need to explain that in full detail
I'm having exact same problem
one question, does that mean all my categories (necklaces, rings etc.) has to go under "collections"? Can't we have both categories and collections? They are totally not the same.
Thank you for your question, Yuka. Yes, Shopify treats collections as categories in this case. Are you looking to implement sub-collections as well, like this: bit.ly/3mpyopY?
Let us know and we would be glad to help further.
YIKES WHATS NEXT
Hello! Thank you for the tutorial! It's really helpful. I am already created my menu and submenu items but I want when someone clicks on the top menu item e.g. Equipment (page) to take them to the Equipment page. But I want it to be a drop down menu item as well. Can it be done in dawn theme? I prepared sample pages for the top menu and I want to link them in the top menu item but I also want to have the function of the drop down menu. Thank you.
Hello! Thank you for reaching out. To clarify, you would like to have a menu item called "Equipment" that, when clicked, takes users to the Equipment page. Additionally, you would like "Equipment" to also function as a dropdown menu item. Could you please provide more details on where you would like the dropdown menu to appear? For example, would "Equipment" be a category within the dropdown menu, or would it have subcategories?
@@ShopifyHelpCenter Hi! Thank you for your reply. I would like for the "Equipment" to be a main menu item on top of my page and as you mentioned, when clicked, takes users to the Equipment page. Additionally, "Equipment" to also function as a dropdown menu item with sub menu items which can be clicked as well. The "Equipment" will not be a category within the dropdown menu. It will be in the main menu with subcategories of its own. Is it possible to achieve that?
Sure thing. We have a step-by-step guide here on drop down menus (shopify.link/VGYe) to show you how you can create a menu item such as "Equipment" that leads to your equipment collection, while also have sub menu items (subcategories) nested underneath that the customer can click on to narrow their product search. - Dirk
@@ShopifyHelpCenter Thank you. I already did that and it doesn't work. I created a page "Equipment" in the pages section. I created also a menu item "Equipment" in the menu section (navigation) and assigned to the "Equipment" menu item the "Equipment" page as its link. I created then my submenu items and nested them under the "Equipment" main menu item and still doesn't work.
@@ShopifyHelpCenter I think it's not possible. I can make a nested menu under the "Equipment" and name it maybe "View All Equipment" and assign to this submenu the Equipment page.
How can I make Dropdown-Menu for footer for mobile?
Hey, there. To add dropdown menus on your mobile device, you will need to download the Shopify app: bit.ly/2U1AeS7.
Once you download the app, open the app and click on "Store" then click on "Online Store" and then click on "Navigation". You'll want to click on "Footer menu" and then "Add menu item". Once you add your menu item, press, hold and drag the menu item on top of the other menu item where you wish to create a dropdown and then click on the green checkmark at the top right to save your changes.
Check out our help doc for the steps here: bit.ly/2VqQegF. Click on "iPhone" or "Android" to view the steps for your device.
But when I asked your staff if this was possible, I was told it was not possible and then I was sent some menu creating app.
Hi Hil! Can you tell us more about what you're hoping to achieve with your menu? Depending on exactly what you have in mind, our own navigation settings may do the trick, or you might consider using an app for their unique features.
Hi how do I sell customized products on shopify with mappin ?
Hi, Hebah! Can you clarify if Mappin is your supplier? Are you planning to use the dropshipping business model: bit.ly/3hBMU8n or print-on-demand: bit.ly/33OBzhA?
What theme is it you're using? Mine doesn't show up as big.
Hi Arium, I believe the theme in this video is our Debut theme (bit.ly/2XKdtnl). If you are look for a large and detailed menu for your store I would recommend researching a "mega menu" app to add that feature. -Shay
@@ShopifyHelpCenter Thanks, Shay! I see there are a few. Do you have any suggestions?
The one by Buddha Apps is a popular choice: bit.ly/3AUI3JD. Each app will display a star rating, and there are reviews from other merchants as well to help you make your decision.
It’s not showing up on my website after adding them to the menu and everything.
Thanks for reaching out, Chantel. Are you able to confirm whether or not you clicked and dragged the menu items to nest below the header items? Kindly review our detailed steps here: bit.ly/3o90BSh. Let us know if you are still having troubles.
@@ShopifyHelpCenter yes I just got off chat with support. My theme is the problem. All the things I’ve done are correct is what she told me.

Thank you for getting back to us. Yes that is correct, in some cases, the theme may be unsupported. You can try to reach out to the theme developer for further guidance.
The nesting is notworking
Hi there! I'm happy to look into this with you. Can you tell me a bit more about what is happening when you try to create a nested menu? Are you able to drag your menu items to different places?
Is there another video where it doesn’t have the tabs? This video is way to advance.
Great tutorial, but how did you get the main menu items to have a dropdown arrow feature. My main menu items don't seem to do this. Thanks for all your help.
Hi, Michelle!
The main menu design will vary depending on the theme you're using. This particular theme is free on Shopify, and it's called Debut. You view and add it to your store from this link: bit.ly/38Mc0Cg.
Online store > customize > header > desktop menu type > mega menu :)
