From a financial perspective, it actually makes sense if traveling the world is one of your life goals. It comes out to around $6,700/person per month and that covers lodging, food, transportation, whatever entertainment they had onboard, and arranging all that in the first place to visit over 60 countries.
yes but.....they don't help you off board.
ergo if you're "traveling the world" you have to disembark and get bat back on the ship in time, and you have to have the currency of the area plus communicate sufficiently.... they don't help you there, including if you're late, get confused, do something illegal on land, anything away from them they aren't responsible.
@@bloodlove93 You are really nitpicking if those are your only problems.
@@bloodlove93 That sounds like a skill issue......
@@bloodlove93 well if you off exploring on your own then yeah your an adult. If I took a plane to all the please jet blue or quantas isn’t going to take care of me. You could also save money and not eat lunch off board you could eat a big breakfast or bring a zip lock bag of snacks from the ship.
@@bloodlove93They have currency exchange on boats usually. Debit cards in shops and cash points work globally. Why would they assist you if get arrested? Yes like any other public transport you have to be onboard at a set time. 🤷♂️
It was an absolute EXTRAORDINARY historic journey! We met so many incredible passengers onboard, locals and RCCL staff! We saw so many things in 9months that most will never see in a lifetime! Sooooo grateful to Royal Caribbean 🥰🥰🥰
I bet you guys made sooo many friends! 😊
@@DaRevolution9 we did!!!! Lifelong family now!!
u gain 400 lbs i bet
We ate and drank what we wanted but walked over 1300 miles! We came back the same weight!!
I went on a 4-day cruise in June and thought I was gonna lose my mind. I couldn’t imagine 9-months!
I know right! Theres only so much you can do on a boat
@@naisyjohns I wanna know how many babies were born on this cruise 😅 or how many women got off over six months pregnant.
You gotta try a mega ship . Oasis class ships
@@chadduff05 Perhaps. I was on Freedom this summer and I’ve been on Fascination. Had more fun on the latter 😄
My friend went on a cruise that was about 9 to 10 months. I just know it almost or did take a full year to do. I had to care for his dogs. This was years ago that he did it with his wife. I mean way way way before covid. They stopped in different countries. They wanted both to see different countries. So they did it. They did have a good time though.
It wouldn't be for everyone, but I would do it in a heartbeat if I could afford it!
Me too
Haters STOP if theese people can afford the adventure then be happy for them
IKR? smh Some people work very hard for their money. It's up to them to spend it how they want. Heck, I'd love to be able to do something like this too, if I could afford it.
Nope
I would of done the same thing and put it on my bucket list before I kick the bucket
Shaddup
I mean maybe not be happy for them but don’t hate on them at least
One month would be enough for me
One week
@@SoltoWolf922 days 💀
1 day for me and im out
@@FastGuy1 why ?I have been only on one cruise I LOVED it
@@salyol7 I can’t imagine being in a small confined space for 9 months of my life.. I love to travel having been to over 30 countries myself but cruise ships ain’t my thing
i traveled for 5 months in 2022 to south america, europe, se asia, australia, hawaii for under 3k a month
good planning...and had freedom I bet....Sailing on the ocean is like getting stranded on Amtrak....and THATS horric!!
@@davidwright873 Not even close. Ship holds 2500, most time had only had 1400-1700 passengers, pretty empty ship for a Cruise Ship and was never close to Full. I've spent 250+ Days on this Ship and it's Sister Ships. Oh and for World Cruise typically they are 80-90 nites, this 3 times as long and more then double the Port Stops meaning higher percent Port to Sea Days
@@davidwright873 i saw that canadian show distant shores, is that what you like to do?
@@broadwayshack1664 I don't really understand the question but the cost of travel is so minimal that spending half ypur vacation on water with people you may or may not like is dreadful at best. You can visit five countries in the space of half the time it takes to sail from one place to another. We went to Germany Austria Prague and Slovakia in the space ot two weeks and never touched water. Why would ya? What a waste of time. Although the Nile river cruise is fun. Buts it's almost hop on hop off style. No long dreaded days at sea!
i lived behind a dumpster for freee
Very happy for everyone who got to experience this!
Over sixty countries is sweet. Only issues you get one to two days onshore. Not enough time to fully enjoy a specific destination. I would fly back to the destination I most enjoyed just to truly experience the culture.
I wish I could afford that.
Same here!
Work hard and one day you can.
@@runner2008 Or ask daddy or mommy 🤣

I mean way way way before covid. They stopped in different countries. They wanted both to see different countries. So they did it. They did have a good time though. I don't even remember how much they paid. Probably cheaper back then compared to now
@boohere2 not just the high cost, I heard some stories where the cruise didn't happen, and they weren't refuneded.
Doing this will be the highlight of my lfie, truly. Worth every penny.
They need to do that and add more trains on the Continental US
?
Trains?
Why? Amtrak is horrendous on the west coast.
I used to work on a cruise ship my contract was 8 months after 6 months I was dieing to go home you get to see a lot of places bilateral I miss being on land
I can see that, but you were also working. And working on a cruise ship means working 7 days a week. I'm sure it is very different to just enjoying vacation every day.
I'm doing a one month transatlantic, using the cruise as transport ( rather than a flying cigar tube)then staying in Europe for a few months, all on a shoestring.
Why are some people so nasty. The world is full of people who have and do not have money but what they do with it is their business. We all have a choice in what we do even though a World cruise might not be for you it' up to people to choose what they want to do with theirs lives and others should not make scathing remarks at the people who chose to do this trip. I am sure it was an amazing experience.
I get its expensive but people deserve to enjoy fun-excitement whether they're retired or want to explore. A cruise is perfect for these types of situations.
This is at the top of my bucket list ❤
So season 2 of the nine months cruise confirmed!!!! Wooooo!!!
For the new Cruise, they shouldn't get first dibs. It should be a fresh set of people who want to go, and if there is not enough people to fill the cruise, then the people from the first one can go.
Well a lot of people think they can handle 9 months at sea but are probably not prepared for that. Atleast with these set of customers they are more predictable
First come, first pay, first serve. The company isn't going to hold of on willing customer just because someone who hasn't yet done it might come.
a 9 month cruise would be kinda lit
9 months is crazy. I'd do one month AT THE MOST and even then I feel like that's too long.
0:23 Uhhh, should someone tell them that's not Machu Picchu?
Most of the people on TikTok seemed to be having disaster after disaster and they’re doing it AGAIN 😂
I would love to see the world
I love em! I go for my 7 day in November on the new Celebration! I tell everyone to try it at least once. I currently have friends on an Alaska cruise where they're posting whales and auroras. I can't decide whether I wanna do Alaska now or stick with my original Hawaii plans! Cruises are so much fun! And YES I sob like a whole baby when it's over!!
This sounds so cool.
It must be nice to have that kind of money. Looks like they had fun. None of them expressed gratitude at how fortunate they were to be able to do this, knowing how so many can only dream of having $120,000 to spend on vacation travel. I’m going on my first cruise soon and feel very fortunate to be able to take this trip.🎉
They worked for it, and this tiny clip tells you nothing about their gratitude. So jealous.
Most are retired living on pension. Some may have cashed in life insurance of lost spouses. They go on these sort of cruises and spread ashes around the world.
This sounds so fun wow
Wow would love to do this
A US Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) spends a 6-month deployment on the Navy ship, often not seeing land in the potential “Hot Spots” of the world, where people aren’t parting, but shooting at each other.
31st meu here
As a Navy guy, all you guys do is eat, workout, and shoot guns on deployment so don't even try farming sympathy points online you're still living the good life

@@JomerTB Life aboard Navy ship is better than sleeping in the mud and sand and eating MREs. On the rare times the Marines comeback from hitting the shore during an exercise, the Navy cleans up the mud and sands on the decks, provide meals and laundry services, not as good as the Royal Caribbean cruise; but it’s free and they don’t expect to be tipped.
Jonathan @ Vacation Planning Company booked it for us. Took excellent care of us.
Imagine being at sea for 9 months
Stuck anywhere with drunks would drive me to jump overboard and risk the swim
How did those students afford that? I can’t even pay off my student loans
Rich kids
Rich parents.
Wonder if Carnival can do this without any fights?
9 months is crazy I'd rather go flying
I would totally do this
So when they stopped in at Honolulu we had a gentlemen who needed a new denture
We did impressions and got him a 3D printed one same day
Long story short
He was so happy they got dentist and doctors on the cruise but only for emergencies but I was like this is crazy a cruise around the world I’m good I’m not getting stuck for one year with the same tourist
Port after port after port 😂
Must be nice to be rich
I can only imagine how big the tips would be for your waiter, cabin steward, etc. by the end of that cruise lol
thats alot of cash...i cant even aford that
If I had the money and means to do this I would do it!
I’m seasick thinking of this🤮
That would be a nightmare for me because I don't want to be stuck on a confined space with nowhere to go with spotty wifi and total strangers. If I can't take it anymore, I can't leave the building and take a walk outside. And the room looks ugly. But I'm sure those who are extroverted would find this cruise very fun. Stuck in a place with so many people who are forced to interact with you.
Thats nine months of your life you will never get back.....
would def do this
This is a dream after watching sweet life on deck
People with too much money!
You can try many things when you have money so that is nice
Enough money to enjoy their lives. Poor people can't relate....
There's no such thing as too much money.
Or alot of common sense ❤
6 days and I’m ready to be off a ship!
I did 11 months on an aircraft carrier :(
Incredible. I bet the Space X folks rather be on that ship than stuck up in space for the better part of forever.
Beautiful
It would definitely be a cool experience however people need to be aware that even for what they received you’re definitely paying for the convenience of not having to change ports, etc. this cruise cost the average passenger $666 per day, which is actually quite highif somebody is doing something like this I would recommend finding shorter cruises and just doing a little bit extra legwork hopping around different ships. You’ll also get a similar experience, but you’ll also get to experience different ships and maybe a slightly different route more customized to what you might want to and for a little bit cheaper.
Yeah I went on $70 a day for a week. Twas fun!!
This Cruise wasn't even close to being Full, most time was 1400-1700 passengers and Ship holds 2500. The next Royal World Cruise will be on larger Ship, plan is to fill every Cabin and will likely be closer to only half the 274 days or less
If I had 120 000 and 9 months I’d definitely see the world but not from a slow floating hotel without real connection with the locals along the way 🥱
It's probably substantially cheaper if you do this on your own without a cruise ship. Idk.
I know this is a fluff piece, which are typically meant to be lighthearted and inspirational. I ask, what is inspirational about wealthy people showing off? This is SO tone deaf! Inflation (and shrinkflation) is out of control, people are living check to check, people with full time jobs can’t afford to rent an apartment because they need to make WAY more than they actually earn in order to qualify!
Jealousy destroys the soul
Lot of comments here about wealth envy and resentment toward those that went. While I can see the excitement of going to all those places I can’t see being gone from home that long. I have trouble with a 10 day cruise. 😂 I’m so ready to go home.
I bet they all shared partners 😂
I could probably survive 9 minutes on a cruise ship
If I had the time then I probably would take a world cruise.
Sounds like a great experience but with a young family, as i have now with toddlers i dont know.
I vehemently disagree with the opening statement that they were with total strangers. Maybe they did not know many people on board when they first boarded but after a few days they probably knew many people because there are plenty of activities on the ship to all people to meet and get to know each other. That is one of the primary jobs of the cruise director. And since the ship visited 65 countries that means the passengers had that many opportunities to get off the ship and go sightsee and/or participate in off ship activities. My bet is that some of them probably looked forward to a day at sea when they could just rest up. And that ship has a movie theater and a casino to help keep you busy.
Why would you spend 9 months on a boat?
I spent 10 years in the navy, and I debt pay a cent. These people paid for deployment.
Clicked here thinking this was another bad cruise story, and for some reason it wasnt
Join the U.S. Navy! You’ll get to do this and get PAID!!
That's not Machu Pichu you showed. That's the pyramid at Chichen Itza in Mexico. 🤣
Wonder if the passages weighed in at the start and put on weight during the 9month cruise? Cause we know Americans love a buffet.
I did 21 days in May, and actually lost weight. Walked 3 miles on deck every morning I could, and hiked all over the ports we visited. I saw they had 32 separate distinct menus, but honestly, the menu would get pretty repetitive.
120,000.00 x 4..yea must be nice family
Did she say $120,000 for this cruise? I could use that money for flights and hotels and it would have been cheaper to see the world this way.
I don't know I am poor until I hear that I couldn't even afford $120,000 cruise. That's more than my condo cost.
I'm surprised looking all the young people that was on it that they could have afford 120K
@@samanthagaboo5610 I heard on the news not so long ago that the younger generation owes thousands of dollars on their credit card. They have been given things they want without having to wait or work for them. It is sad that they do not know any other way.
I’m curious what they do for work
nothing...rich or retired
Man if it was t 120k I would love to do that. I could probably save like 25k or 30k but it would take me a few yrs not 120k.
i can guarantee you that half of those people are going to need psychological assistance later
If u see a cruise that's a grand, u already know it's gonna cost you 2grand. So if it's 60k ur looking at 100 grand.
Endless months on a cruise ship full of self-absorbed narcissists and IG influencers. That is not for me.
I can only last a week need my bed
Nothing more inspirational than seeing a bunch of wealthy folks spend over $100,000 and having fun. This has the same vibe as seeing the billionaires being called “astronauts” while many Americans are living paycheck to paycheck.
Nobody's fault but yours if you're living paycheck to paycheck. Sad 😩
The life of the rich.. what’s new?? 👀
No thanks!
Anyone else thinking bout Cruise Ship killers 🤔
Hahahahahahh.....😂😂😂😂... last day of cruise. Cry babies... Now....Get back to work !!!
Back…?
Your bank account will be vaccuum also.
How did those students afford it lol looks fun tho
9 months on a ship is a jail sentence. Glad you all have been released and are now free to move beyond the stern and bow.
Yeah, okay dipshi*
Yeah, okay dipshi*
Do these people have jobs? 😂
Naaaah
Why would previous cruisers get 'first dibs?' Allow others the opportunity. Not to mention, why would you want to do it again (especially with the cost factored in that decision.)
