Gamzee then got addicted and forgot why he even used it in the first place. He got sober and didnt know how to cope with it and went crazy. He killed some charas. You can look at it that way. Or - you can see that Feferi and Sollux attacked him after suggesting something. He didn't want to kill her, but she was going to try and kill him so he was defended himself. And then Sollux also tried to kill him, so again he defended himself. I doubt he was killing his friends for fun or on purpose.

Not in any of them! Not permanently, at least. He dies twice - once when he and Jade were fighting Bec Noir, but he got revived as his dreamself. Then he died in Cascade again, but went god tier on his crypt bed. His other selves die all the time, though, doomed timeline versions of him. One of them dies when trying to go after DD, who stole the book with the MEOW code written inside, and another died so Terezi could show him what going god tier meant. There are probably others we haven't seen.
