Spent last July in The Villages to see if we could handle the heat and humidity. I think yes because we close on our house this July! Trading Minnesota for Florida ☀️
Greetings! We would like to see a video on homeowners insurance and specific perils such as wind, hail, sink hole, etc., in The Villages. What coverage is available, what coverage is not being offered, and/or is limited. Also, what requirements are mandated to be eligible for coverage. It seems like a lot of companies are pulling out of Florida, and it's not just coastal areas. Would love to hear more about homeowners insurance trends and future projections.
Just got here from WA 2 days ago, renting for 6 months with the intention of finding the right house for us. We’ve done 2 lifestyle visits so we know we want to be here.
We live in Maine AND The Villages.. NOTHING stops us from coming EVERY month ;] In fact we'll be down next week yup July .. It's SO PEACEFUL N BEAUTIFUL ..Our souls are at SUCH PEACE in TV ;] ..Music, Beauty, peace n love ;] ;] Actually we prefer summer its even more peaceful there ;]
it’s a complete nightmare and it changes every single day. it’s hard to make a video about something like florida insurance because by the time you film it, the actual regulations will be much different. insurance in fl is basically the worst of the worst, even if you have the best of the best insurance. somewhere like the villages isn’t too bad though compared to a lot of florida. i think the last bad storm to hit the villages was hurricane irma back in 2017. it flooded some streets, houses, and cars
Very scared about insurance. farmers now- are NOT taking on any new clients and they’re OUT next year. More to fall in this disaster prone state. No one talks about the tornadoes !! in Ocala, Villages, Lady Lake
I'm scheduled to tour The Villages the middle of September and counting the days. Your videos are great and enjoyable, not to mention informative. Thanks for all the work you both put in creating these videos.
We are picking up a rental car on the 7th and headed to The Villages from east Texas. We was going to Wisconsin to visit friends but the smoke from Canada is bad. So we decide to go to Florida stopping in Destin one night and five nights in Leesburg. We’re planning a lifestyle visit in 2024. We’re excited about this!
Still watching you guys! Thanks for another great video! Being from Northern California it’s hard to imagine leaving but we do think about it for retirement, which is about four years away from my husband at least!
Planning on moving to Florida and a 55 over community in about 2 years. Looking for golf course community within an hour of disney. Would love to see videos separating areas and golf course communities. Example areas around Orlando with golf course, new construction. Areas around Orlando no golf course. Areas in ocala with golf course, areas in ocala no golf course etc…Ty. You guys do a great job, thanks for the videos
I have visited my friend who lives in The Villages quite a few times since 2012 when she moved there. The Villages is quite large probably 20+ miles from north to south. North of state road 44 are the preowned homes. South of 44 are both preowned homes and new construction. There are 3 town squares, with a 4th town square under construction. Population pushing 140K and growing.
Well first of all, I love the relationship you both have ❤️ I wanted to know if I would move there and my adult son and wife and granddaughter could roam around by themselves lol or I need to be with them at all times?
Great info about the Florida heat. I live in Oregon but may be strongly considering a move to Ocala in the next few years. My son lives there and he’s taken me through the Villages. I really like the interviews with the residents. I’m not sure a 55+ community is for me. I would like to see more information on how easy it is to find a good doctor in Ocala, especially for seniors. I love living out west, but my husband has advanced cancer and my two sons and all my family live back east, so I may end up there. My plan is to do all the research I can now. I will say, Ocala is beautiful and I love the horses.
Hi there! Let us know if we can help. It's never too early to connect with one of our expert agents to get a feel for the communities that might be a good fit for you! Feel free to reach out at Hello@Explore55Plus.com! :)
ocoee is much more of a florida “horse” town and is closer to more hospitals etc. plus it’s way closer to orlando, disney, etc. without being IN orlando and then summerfield fl is a great farm town but it’s not super accessible and is being geared more towards the under 30 crowd
Thank you for your videos. My question is a 3 parter 1) how far away is a marina for a 50’ sailing yacht 2) is it feasible to buy a warehouse style building in the local area for cars and a motorhome for storage? 3) you may not know this one but is there any dirt track racing (sprint cars) in the local area? Thank you for your help and the videos…..
This is random, but have to ask. I like mom’s top. Wanna know where she purchased it from. 😊 By the way, this was a good video. Hearing about how folks started their 55+ community searches, why they chose the community they did, also hearing that one’s first house wasn’t their ideal house and they bought another home to move to in the villages was an eye opener. I don’t want to move but once when I buy. How does one avoid that mistake? Any way, thanks for going out there and providing info for us who are starting to think about moving south. -Maria from Maryland
I’m interested in learning about your area but I’m a REI first and I’m skeptical about the catastrophic storms, insurance companies going broke or leaving the state, high property taxes and the current FL politics and trying to rewrite the history of being a minority person is the South. My 2 cents.
Well, since facts are important, the bill DeSantis signed is merely to study whether waste from fertilizer would be safe for roads. But of course it's common to see misinformation directed at Florida and the currently-greatest governor in the country (and I'm not from Florida -- I'm just well-informed).
@@stevemcnamara2584 the runoff water from these roads is extremely toxic and will kill our wildlife and put more carcinogens in the water. florida has some of the worst water in the country already due to poor legislation -someone who is informed, keeps up to date with state and federal laws, and has lived in florida for years. not to mention, i read the actual bill. an outsider’s perspective is somewhat myopic if you haven’t observed the local law for the last few years in florida. you’re taking a law out of context without applying it. the hazardous road materials are a HUGE hazard and threat to the people and the environment over time. current legislation does not care bc in 10-15 years when this is a huge issue, it will be way too late and too hard to fix
I don't care about the heat. I'm just happy I don't see snow anymore.
This is why so many people are flocking to the Villages! Regardless of prices going up, people still love the Villages!

Also from Minnesota here. We did 2 weeks the beginning of July this year to test our tolerance of heat too. We are all in!

Would like to know more about what’s happening with homeowner insurance rates in central Florida.
going up up and away !

Jacksonville is about a 2 hour drive from The Villages, the Mayo Clinic is there, so if you're looking for good cancer doctors, is a doable drive.

Can you guys go into the sales office of the villages and show the map. I want to see how big it is and what is available (new).
Hi! Here's an interactive map where you can explore the community and the homes for sale, new and pre-owned. www.thevillages.com/homefinder/

Central FL. One hour NW of Orlando.

Ask if they enjoy radioactivity, on the roads that the fascist governor just had approved
