- It is only April, but the tomatoes need to be harvested at Deep South Texas. I have harvested more than 40 lbs. of tomatoes so far this year. It looks like at least that many more are on the way. This year I kept it to four varieties, Beef Steak, Celebrity, Biltmore, and Cherokee Purple. I also have some cherry tomatoes growing to keep the family happy. I will keep some of the slicers for BLTs and will be canning the rest. I still have plenty of pasta sauce and pizza sauce on hand so will be focusing on salsa this year. I have plenty of peppers growing for the salsa, but onions are not doing too well this year.
wow! beautiful tomatoes. ❤❤❤
Salut, be well for 100 years.
Oooh. I'm up here near Lake Eufaula and mine's loaded with blooms!
I absolutely LOVE Celebrities! They're a smaller slicer, but the flavor in my Okie heat can't be beat!
Hi from the Netherlands. You lucky fish! It's too dam cold plant my tomato starts out and it's nearly May already. All the best there
I want to see this garden in person so bad!
Great harvest, I cant hardly wait for a fresh tomato! I pick my tomatoes before they completely turn too. I grow Indeterminate tomatoes, & i think pulling of tomatoes early helps them produce more/longer.
Beautiful tomatoes Larry🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅
It was a good year for tomatoes. 🤠
Love Cherokee purple tomatoes!!
My favorite. 🤠
Hey from central TX! I’m a total beginner. What are some easy veggies or fruits that I could plant in pots or raised beds right now?
NE Texas here, it's late for spring planting unless you buy a 1 gallon tomato or squash starts. But in a bit it'll be time for sweet potato slips, along with okra and crowder peas. Then fall planting follows, which can be similar to spring.
I am not planting anything now. Will plant onion seeds in September. Starting broccoli seeds and cabbage seeds the first of October. 🤠
Beautiful tomatoes 🍅 😊
