Hay Tom you got the machine looking real good can't weight for the table to go back on lots of work as you say but mate totally worth the effort for sure love the Ford Blue as I am a Ford man for sure thanks for sharing with us know its hard to work around a camera but your doing real well there also your video getting better as well Cheers
Gday Tom, great choice of colour, the white breaks up the blue and the plugs break the black up, massive job that’s for sure, looking forward to seeing it with the table back on, cheers
very ggod paint job my friend Tom..thanks for your time If you allow me a couple of tips, install a frequency converter and thus you will have a much better and more usable range of speeds, and also install a DRO dimension display... with those two things your machine will rise to another level both in precision as in comfort of use... I tell you from experience that I have an old JUARISTI boring machine from 1960 updated by me and I am super happy with it... a big hug and health and success
Looks real nice Tom. Don't worry about KR he hires college kids to help him out. Your helper just wants to play all the time. Thanks for the video you did a great job.
Nothing like those first couple warm clear spring days. That color combo looks real nice on the mill. All that prep work sure pays off with a nice finish. Nice looking hole plugs... Finish line getting closer.
The paint job turned out fabulous. I like the aluminum hole plug. I think I would’ve put a little bit of a radius on the end just to break it up. Look forward to your next video.
G'day Tom. The Boring Mill turned out really well. Looks like Ford Teal Blue, which always looks good with depth of colour. Just wondering if the alloy plugs could have been made from Dealdrin with a stainless plate stuck on top, to give the same end result. Overall great video, Should be a sight to see it in action. Ted
Hey there Ted and thanks for the compliment. I am sure I could have made the plugs with Delrin, But around here a 2.5" diameter piece in black is not cheap. So aluminum was the way to go.
Looking good. Anyone who has not done the work themselves has no idea what is involved. My love and hobby is restoring old machine tools.
Thanks Terry. Definitely a labor of love.

Thanks Matty. The color turned out better than I expected. Almost don't want to get it dirty now. 😀
Sharp Tom...looking like new. That's going to be some milling machine!!!!!👀

Thanks Michel. A DRO is on the list of things to do once I get the mill back together. 🙂
Looking good Tom. Amazing the difference a little paint can do, from grunge to good looking.
Thanks John. It cleaned up nice.
Looks real nice Tom. Don't worry about KR he hires college kids to help him out. Your helper just wants to play all the time. Thanks for the video you did a great job.

Tom - Looks Great - Huge difference . Keep Going -- Jim
Thanks Jim.
I've lost track of how many machines Keith Rucker has redone. Glad you kept track! Your mill turned out sweet!
Thanks Matt. I was going to invite you to come over, but I figured your drill press was enough fun. 🤣
@@hilltopmachineworks2131 😂👍
Tom, it's coming along nicely.
Looking sharp Tom. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks buddy.
Beautiful work!
Good idea to plug the bolt holes. Otherwise they quicly become rats nests.
And you sure did a lot of work on that mill. With a very nice result.
Thanks Michel. I am glad the painting part is behind me.

Nice work Tom, Keith didn't have his shop burn.
Thanks.
Your mill coming out great . Love the blue paint . Must people plant the machine battleship gray .
Thanks Ed. Yeah I did not want another gray machine.
Looking Great Tom. Should be done soon?
Getting close. Waiting on McMaster Carr to deliver me some parts today.
amazing job Tom.
Looks Great👍👍👍👍
You should have got Mr Khaos dip his tail in the pot and give you a hand🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Kev (UK)
Well funny you mention that Kev. Khaos did brush his tail up against the machine and got fur all in the drying paint.
Looks great. What type of primer did you use.
Thanks Steve. I used the Majic brand Tractor Supply sells.
hey tom that looks slick.👍 I'm curious about how the machine works.🔍
Hey Dominic. The machine gives you a larger work platform than say a conventional mill. Also the up travel is greater with the tall column.
I doubt I could even get my mill cleaned in 3 days much less painted!
Well your mill is 3 times the size of mine. 😃
I prefer Gray....
I like gray also, but seeing that I already have 3 gray machines I wanted something a little different.
Looking good Tom, Please stop calling it "FORD" blue and just say blue...lol
Okay. (Even though it says "Ford Blue" on the can.) 😀
