  • BlackSeaRC presents the second video in a series looking at the new ROC Hobby Katana. This Ready-To-Run (RTR) 1:18 scale RC mini-crawler is designed with an emphasis on scale realism and uses a fantastic injection-moulded hard-body based on the legendary Toyota Land Cruiser 80 Series Station Wagon. It is packed with detail on the exterior and this continues with a fully detailed interior too. But can this crawler perform as well as it looks? In this video, we find out by powering-up the vehicle and conducting functional and performance testing.
This video also looks at how the Katana performs when compared with another 1:18 scale crawler in the BlackSeaRC collection, the Partner Racing QX-4, a dedicated rock crawling buggy. The mini-crawler segment of the market is expanding rapidly in popularity, so the Katana faces strong competition from a growing list of different vehicles. See some of the alternatives by watching the video and tell me what you think about the Katana in the comments below.
Finally, there is a summary of the good/bad points of this truck and BlackSeaRC gives an overall verdict for those considering buying such a product or one of the alternatives.
If you would like the see the ROC Hobby Katana being unboxed and examined in close-up detail then please check the first part of this video series. You can find it by checking the "1:18 Scale" playlist on this channel, BlackSeaRC. The Partner Racing QX-4 that also features in this video can be found there too.
