I've found wc3 to be difficult to learn but rewarding. Your mistakes and pitfalls can't be ignored when it comes to mechanics and being slow to upgrade/ produce, and there's no band-aids from the devs to help you. The not so obvious parts are like the creeping and matchups, what path to take on different maps against what, and "how am I messing up this pull again" is a big one. I started this week, I've beaten insane AI a few times, played 15 games vs people and went 6W9L (heh nice). One of the people I beat even rage typed until I killed every one of his buildings, which made my day. Currently working on Dark Ranger pathing for all of the competitive maps in rotation. I spent hours yesterday struggling with figuring out how to pull a single camp the right way, and I enjoyed it more than playing Marvel Heroes with my friends. I think you need to be a certain type of insane to click with this game, but if it does, you become fused to it like some Frankenstein gamer.
how do people subscribe for 72 months like that. i've seen people sub to grubby's channel on twitch for several years in month numbers.... which is a TON of money even if its the lowest sub (5.99 or 6.99 USD) so does that mean having one person sub for 72months (72 * 5.99 = higher than $50 monthly payout) or does it only count as the $5.99 x1 for THAT month?
The second game was just masterpiece - was watching you with my 9y old son and he said that you play like total boss. He then asked me if I could play like you lol.. 😅 Cheers from Poland!
you were not kidding when you said UD VS ORC was crazy on twisted meadows that was a nutty matchup nice hit and runs on the bases all game that literally saved you dude was gonna run you over 3/3 ghouls were getting like 1 tapped lmao
The game vs orc is a masterclass in tp attacks. The tp attack on expo drawing his army and then the coordinated pull of lumber ghouls to attack his gold peons in main was a stroke of brilliance, and the repeat of the same tactic to all but seal the deal. I'm very impressed
Way back in the early days of TFT "crack" ghouls as I called it was my favorite strat for UD. DL and DK with fully upgraded ghouls and gargoyles backed by a couple statues. Felt pretty awesome back in the day at my middling ranking.
Game 1: Not sure why Dread Lord first Fast Expand is considered non-meta -- it seemed to work pretty well. Game 2: I like the flanking/pincer and split attack potential of this strategy. Would like to see more flanking/pincer attacks (does not have to be the same build).
haha! The frenzied ghoul coming to his mainbase every time you attacked his expanse. You were so deep in the zone, so high APM, I didn't notice any of the times u sent them there. It was brilliant! I'd be pissed
OMG THE SECOND GAME WAS PERFECT FOR THE COMMENT I LEFT ON UR LAST VIDEO!!! tc aura dk aura dl aura all level 3 witb banshee possession. Bloodlust and frenzy taurens and even war drums.... wow that would be deadly... I don't usually go along enough for that to happen. But man.... if you could make it happen..
Lich would have benefitted a lot from that Gloves of Haste. Would have represented the equivalent of +10 attack damage, definitely worth dropping the Ring of Superiority for it.
I think you should make a layout that prevents ranged units to attack the Acolytes from outside of your baseline. That second game went bad because you coulndt body block FS.
Yeah, I can see that lol. Pretty sure the upgrade icons for attack is like unactivated Armlet, activated Armlet, and then fiery Armlet. And then defense upgrade icons are used for Stout Shield, Poor Man's Shield and Vanguard respectively.
Hey. I used to run a similar build back in the day. But I need your help filling in the blanks. It would skip crypt first and would go frozen tower zigg and tier two expansion. And building double crypt afterwards. The idea was to rush frenzy as soon as possible and rush the opponents base with double auras. I don’t know the build order exactly. Can you help me fill in the blanks? The idea was to have frozen zigg and tier 2 base as your only Defense to rush double Crypt into tier three frenzy. Any help? It was Very Similar to the old tank only rush.
This is why I could never even try to be a pro at WC3. The ghouls harassing while he attacks the expansion. Shade checking for TPs to know exactly how long he can attack for. It's too much for my small brain. I'd have quit lol
Hi grubby, just wanted to ask: it feels like in your video the sound of the game is a bit loud compare to your gentle voice :) maybe it's just me, but if you consider to mix it down a little bit it would be great!
Just pick a race and practice creeping baselayout and build order. Don't worry about this pro lvl stuff, just focus on creeping your heros well and building good bases according to Grubby's tutorials. If you get build order, base layout, and creeping down you're well on your way to being ready to play, and you can train all your own. Expect to lose your first 10 games on War3Champions. The matchmaking takes a little time to stop throwing much higher lvl opponents at you, so don't be deterred by the initial losing streak. It's how the matchmaking algorithm determines your skill and happens to everybody. It's what keeps pros from getting matched with noobs after placement.
@@MittensOnly learn a simple timing attack build that focuses on creeping while building a 50 population army and practice it a bunch, against a computer if you don't want too much pressure. That will prepare you reasonably well.
@@MittensOnly As undead your strongest elements are your heros and your base. Get your heros strong early and use them ruthlessly to abuse the enemy heros if he leaves them out in front and vulnerable. If you build your base right it's one of the hardest to attack in the game. Prioritize armor on your Death Knigght and Damage items on you lich. DK lich is the heart of your army, and with statues to heal/regen mana they can roam and hunt very well. Destroyers make a good mobile dps section and counter caster team. You want boots of speed on your hero, and TP Deathknight. With a couple shades to scout you can ve really dangerous and survivable.
@@MittensOnly The annoying thing about UD is getting a full walloff against Orc. A full wall for UD is tricky and you kind of have to practice it for each map if you want to be able to do it quickly enough to keep Blademaster out In the early game.
3:45 is utter only-Grubby-could-pull-this-off-nonsense lol. I feel like I’m a fairly experienced player and 100/100 times in that situation I’d count the battle as lost and try to retreat but @grubby just literally plays reverse uno card- knowing full well a nova or 2 right clicks or a few stray ghoul hits would kill him. The nerve lol, I guess that’s what separates a rec center artist from a Da Vinci
Shade cost is 90 (75+15). Gold lost in that 10 second delay is about 100, plus reveal costs 50 gold (unless he used a crystal ball charge from another hero, which would be even higher value cost-he wasn’t holding dust). Hero loses potential xp and map pressure-grubby is mining actively during that period, and honestly some psychological warfare-people play worse when frustrated
@@AssistInRiots I wasn't talking about the literal cost, but rather the possibility of ending vision that he had enjoyed and utilized up until then. The opponent clearly hadn't realized yet that a Shade was following him. Now the jig is up.
The cost for the Nerubian Tower is much lower. Arcane Tower deals good damage to heroes and caster units with Mana Burn. And the mana burn itself is valuable, someone like Far Seer wouldn't be able to resummon the wolves that many times when harassing peasants.
