Loved this kit on my WRX, I used the Password JDM install kit. It gives you a back plate so your not just putting bolts and nuts through the hood. It make installing these much easier.
@07:39 I couldn't f****** agree more my friend. That's why I follow your builds meticulous and don't do s*** half-ass and you plan ahead for Symmetry and Aesthetics along with performance it's like we're working from the same Playbook
They Have A Special Way They Paint It So They Dont Fully Degrade Its Integrity. & They Are For More Performance Rather Then Style. Its For Lightweight Function While Maintaining Strength. Buh Carbon Fiber Is Indeed Amazing Without Paint. Buh For This Car It Should B Painted
Yea but the amount of inches you are past the touching point on the oil marks 1" above that hood rest position & it will be a inch off or .5" per inch ect
Well I have to say I am extremely impressed with another build from Mick and rick. I would love to enter the contest but have to ask if Canadians have a chance to win this?
Are the hood pins necessary? I've been told no by some shops and have read yes in some instances. I notice a lot of carbon fiber hoods don't have them. Or is it only seibon hoods where its essential?
Crowy The butcher except carbon hood and fiberglass hoods will weigh the same +- a few ounces. Only reason someone buys a carbon hood and then paints it is to say they have a carbon hood.
Zach Hill OG course it’s not exactly the same but a huge majority of people that are getting carbon or fiberglass hoods aren’t doing it for the strength but for the weight savings
@@turbohayabusa01 "Carbon fiber composites are 70% lighter than steel, 40% lighter than aluminum, and about 15% lighter than fiberglass composites. I thought they were supposed to face the other way. The way you have it the wind can push against a latch that’s not fully snapped in and completely release during high speeds.
Todd Higgins - You’re Correct. It really doesn’t matter. The pins are spring loaded and the wind going over them isn’t going to effect them if you leave them unlatched regardless. Ive seen them mounted sideways as well. I guess just a personal preference.
I know for a looks the feather Parts supposed to go to the front but that allows the wind to catch the latch if that latch ever God forbid popped open it folds back so the wind can push it back which would unlatch it and then cause the hood to pop up and then the wind would catch it and slam it back against the glass whereas if the latch was the opposite direction with the pointy side forward and the fat round side backwards. If the same scenario happen God forbid the latch popped and cause the handle to lift up the wind would push down against it in the opposite direction forcing the latch to stay locked unlike the first scenario. Now I do not care either way that's just my personal Insight other than that doesn't really matter I just think it's a wild design I think it looks better when the fatter part faces forward however there's a design flaw where if that latch pops and the handle lifts the air will catch it pushing it backwards unlocking it allowing are to pick up the hood and throw it backwards now that's of course if an oem hood latch isn't being used but I'm not making that claim
Actually the right one looked a bit higher set. Should have made sure that the Hood pins were stable and tight when he sat the hood down to make the grease dots...

Is throtl a car parts company that does sweepstakes or a sweepstakes company that does car parts...Just seems like all they every talk about is winning something and not what the website is actually about.
So sad when you see white dust coming from "carbon fiber" part during cutting... nice install though. Your attention to detail and Bad Apple build are the main things I'm watching Throtl vids :-)
Not doubting you bro but I touched bases with your tech support and almost ordered it but they told me no :( And I want it. I think it's a truly bad ass kit :)
Don't know how you get anything done with all the talking and explaining you do like ur teaching 10yo everysingle step while repeating it all before u start and finish I like the cars u work on u have good ideas just don't need every detail
You should just wait til the projects finished and watch the "*insert build car here* in under 5mins" or whatever video that just time-lapses the build. Seems to be more your style.
Throtl you know what would be a cool merch idea Mickey speck aprons 🙌🏻🔥🔥
Going to look sweet! Can't wait to see the final product.

silversentrav - Yea. Aerocatch now includes it and it is far superior to the PWJDM part.
Nice , it’s been awhile since I’ve done the install. The Soarer will be getting these when we get back to the US.
Hey great job so far! This thing is really starting to take shape! You guys rock!
Toothpaste also works really well if you've got a dark coloured bonnet
I actually really like these latches, and this car is going to be insane.
Man he’s good ! Clean !
Bryan Iszlaub - Thank you.
I would keep stock hood latch. Those pins don't last and look crap.
Legit ones do. Too many people buying $10 eBay ones though
Lol. We put these on $250k racecars. They last.
A lot of tracks won’t let you run a carbon hood without a secondary latching system anyways! Everyone’s an armchair mechanic.
looks really good Mickey
Great job Micky it's gonna look sick 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Ima Try Become A V.i.p member an buy things on the next givway car. U should do a datsun or mini truck build
I wouldn't paint the hood if I was building this car I would like to see it with carbonfiber first
There's hardly any point in a carbon hood if you're just going to paint it. The looks are 50% of the reason for having carbon.

That is down right cool
Mickey = Attention To Detail 👌
I tried to buy some aerocatch hood pins from you guys about a year ago and was told you no longer sell them 😥
Sean Kay - We didn’t have them then. We do now.
Well I have to say I am extremely impressed with another build from Mick and rick. I would love to enter the contest but have to ask if Canadians have a chance to win this?
your right mickie that is pucker factor 10 when it comes to cutting into a carbon fiber part but it looks great now where you located them.
Throtl ViP squad Good evening Mickey awesome more 240 SX content 😊👍
dope stuff once again mickey!...btw, i just realized you guys are not doing the Rev til Death hoodies 😢 but awell, i'm find something else to buy 💯👍
Are you going to delete the hood brace completely and run gas struts on the sides like you did on Mickeys RX7?
What can be done to repair a section that was cut out? Any suggestions for closing a hole in a cf hood or part?
I'm digging those 240 parts this will be sic asf when done🤗🤗🤗
Gerald Rogers - some surprises coming. ;)
Opening shot=sold.
Anyone notice the throtl icon in the middle of the screen?
Ditch that tube and fin intercooler and get a nice bar and plate intercooler
I don't understand why people paint carbon :( you're ruining it!
Are the hood pins necessary? I've been told no by some shops and have read yes in some instances. I notice a lot of carbon fiber hoods don't have them. Or is it only seibon hoods where its essential?
Ehh what's the point in painting the carbon fibre it looks good just clear coated
This is gonna be dope 🔥
Painting Carbon is a sin. If you’re painting just do a fiberglass hood
turbohayabusa01 if you can afford carbon why not? It’s lighter and painting it will make it last longer
Crowy The butcher except carbon hood and fiberglass hoods will weigh the same +- a few ounces. Only reason someone buys a carbon hood and then paints it is to say they have a carbon hood.
@@turbohayabusa01 carbon fiber can reach up to 500 ksi strength, fiber glass is about 300 ksi. Not the same

I thought the exact same thing
Nope.
That's what I was always told but you see them mounted in every configuration imaginable so I'd say it doesn't really matter much tbh

Mickey Andrade good to know!
Can't lie that hood is fire🔥😭
We agree!!!
Waiting for mickey make hoodvent on badapple like he mention it in badapplebuildseries.
Love the vids
Warrior alpha stick?? Who's the bender??
J.R. Vichare - It’s my stick but, TJs the bender.
I know for a looks the feather Parts supposed to go to the front but that allows the wind to catch the latch if that latch ever God forbid popped open it folds back so the wind can push it back which would unlatch it and then cause the hood to pop up and then the wind would catch it and slam it back against the glass whereas if the latch was the opposite direction with the pointy side forward and the fat round side backwards. preprodigy - The latch is spring loaded. I don’t think 200mph and a steady headwind wound force these latches to open. The are pretty well sorted.
Now..... is the Warrior Alpha hockey stick #Mickeyspec? 😂😂😂
where are you guys located? great video
Quote of the day "now we can start making big holes".....
Actually the right one looked a bit higher set. Should have made sure that the Hood pins were stable and tight when he sat the hood down to make the grease dots...
Allan J. - They are dead nuts even.
Why would you paint the hood

It's carbon fiber laid over frp which is what 90% of carbon hoods are. Dry carbon is different.
Probably be a $2-3000 part if it was straight carbon.
I find it weird that you removed the factory latch to do this
Wish that kit fit my 240 coupe :(
BKRacer FPV - Oh, it can!
Not doubting you bro but I touched bases with your tech support and almost ordered it but they told me no :( And I want it. I think it's a truly bad ass kit :)
BKRacer FPV - Do you have pop up headlights?
At this moment yes but was seriously considering the JDM front end. Heard the motors are always going out for the pop ups. What are you thinking ?
BKRacer FPV - Keep the pop ups and run this kit.
DOCTOR
Awsome work looks perfecto💪💪☝😎
I have a thumbs up for the beard!!!! I have beard goals!!!
What's the name of the intro song?
Can somebody tell me song name used in intro?
hate the look of these latches. I much prefer the quiklatch buttons.
ChinzoPhoto - To each their own.
Neat
Is going to be painted black???!!!!
CAN YOU JUST KEEP THE CAR IT WOULD BE SO NICE TO SEE IT EVERY DAY IN THE VIDEOS
By the wheels I'm guessing you got color of car picked :)
BKRacer FPV not exactly. ;)
You could install a KITT light on that car from Michael Knight...
Please paint it black
Why don’t you guys enjoy the car after being built. I feel bad for you lol
Well this was unexpected...
The throtl watermark in the middle of the screen is really distracting...
😝😝
what would you do to an AUDI A4 B7 2.0?
Im no expert (especially on Euro cars) but I would do an exhaust, wheels, and suspension, and a tune. 👍
