Hey congrats on the top with the deck. Makes me proud to see my deck still going strong. I am actually the invetor of twilight. I built this deck originally in 2008 on the tail end of teleDaD format. The original list was way more different than the variants that you see today because Dark Armed Dragon was at 3 and then semi limited in the format right after. The original goal of the deck was to just use the lightsworn engine to turbo out multiple copies of DaD and/or 2 Dark Strike Fighter for game. Gale was also unlimited at the time which was the main way to synch easily into the level 7 dark strike fighter. With that being said, some feedback I can give you with this deck if you want to continue to use it. The main cards that hurt this deck are D.D. crow, Royal Oppression, Starlight Road/Stardust Dragon, kycoo, vanity's fiend, soul release and deck devastation virus. The real pain points of the deck is if they lock you out of darks in grave or lightsworn names to drop JD or stop you from special summoning in general. The deck becomes a lot weaker when they kinda strong arm you into relying on starters only to deal with board state. That being said, the best way to run this deck is super aggressive turbo style to try to outpace the opponent before they can answer and force those game states. Late grind games do not favor this deck in the slightest. So if you play with the mentality of youre holding your cards to look for an opening/weakness in your opponent's board state, then dropping everything for game, it becomes alot easier to understand the types of cards that are good versus stuff that is redundant/doesnt help you achieve that goal. There are many different ways you can go with this deck, but Ill give you my insights. 1) Hottest take: 3 wolf is an absolute must. Being that this deck is super aggressive and doesnt do well on the crack back versus the other top decks, 3 wolf is needed for early aggression and board control. 2100 is no joke and gets over every other starter in the format. You push tempo and force them to use outs to deal with the wulfs so then their resources are depleted when it comes to answering JD, Sorc, DaD, Celestia and Caius. 3 wolf obviously can clog certain hands and slow you down, but theres also ways in this deck to cheat it out or discard them from your hand when needed. The benefits far outweigh the downsides when you really think about it. Without multiple wulf, celestia is a dead card 90% of the time as well. 2) Gale is a must in this deck. Its one of the most broken tuners in edison format hands down. It gives you a normal summon out to vanity's fiend, helps you get over problematic big monsters when you dont have honest, the potential to brain control a blackwing and be able to just special summon it for free, and having easier access into blackrose and arcanite magician is just way too good. Plus it allows you access to armed wing/armor master in the extra deck. 3) I prefer dark grepher over armageddon knight. The deck as i pointed out earlier has a weakness to deck dev and running armageddon over grepher just feeds into that. Yes if you just rota into armageddon knight instead of drawing it can get around that, but i think grepher gives the deck alot more big push potential and sets up grave better for sorc/DaD. But, its not a must to run one over the other or anything. Whatever is your preference is fine. 4) Beckoning light should atleast be sided here. Other than your monster reincarnations, theres no way to get back JD if it gets milled. So if you mill both JD and reincarnation then you lose that whole dynamic of the deck. Late game dumps to recycle honest/jd/celestia could be huge in shifting the duel into your favor and also gives another card that could just out tempo your opponent if you open with it plus a bunch of mill. 5) Now i will address the Doomcaliber Knight in the side board. The card can be a good tech choice, but i wouldnt run more than 1. Its just not that good in alot of matchups and it strongly conflicts with your lightsworn engine. If youre looking for a good 4 star dark option, i would suggest either breaker, another kycoo or zombyra. Zombyra is 2100 dark searchable by rota and also gives you the option to tech your own DDV in the sideboard. Breaker is self explanatory for the most part but is also another spellcaster to pair with gale to go into arcanite. Kycoo is also a spellcaster. And im sure you know all the other merits cause you already sideboard 1 of them. Overall this is a good list. I know some of the things i said can come off as "nitpicky", but i hope i was able to explain solid reasoning why certain options are better than others. I love this deck obviously. And i hope you continue to tinker with it for a while.
@lc6220 I actually didn't count how many he was running in the deck. Ideal count is usually 42 if you're not running avarice. I was giving a generic layout of the deck of the must runs. As I said there's many different ways you can go with it, it's up to you what to cut and run over others. If you want my opinion on what is cuttable from this list? 1 lyla, 1 ryko, sangan, d.d. crow, tragoedia, necro gardna, armageddon knight, ehren. Just off the top of my head. In no way am I saying you shouldn't run any of those cards, they can just be cut to make room for others.
I like this deck im going to make a version in DM and mortify it a little bit, love playing chaos deck back in the early 2000's with BLS and Chaos Dragon 😁
Nice work. Doomcal is interesting bc it’s pretty terrible against the top decks but wildly great against low tier decks. Pretty good against GB like you said but probably makes you good match up’s better while not doing much for your bad match ups.

You dropped this 👑
What are your thoughts on foolish burial in twilight? Say with two wulf, plaguespreader and necrogardna.
I think you could definitely play foolish burial with those!
Great Job on the performance!

Doomcal good for attacking for game vs certain frog variants with faders

Why not phantom of choas? I think is a very strong card in this deck
@@ianluis9310 you definitely can play POC. I’m not the biggest fan personally because it takes your normal & gets punished badly by DD crow.
You mention glads a lot…. It’s almost like it’s a GB format….
@@chasesimpson9231 it is a GB format 👀
