I really thought the buckeyes would have given the Gators a better run , it seems Ohio State only took the practice squad & left the starters back in Columbus , but anyways GO GATORS
Been following college football especially the SEC since 1997, that Florida team most of the season had been just getting by their opponents, they won games by scores like 17-16 and 21-14. Then they play Ohio State in Arizona(which at the time was supposed to be the buckeyes home away from home), Gators are a huuugggeee underdog and they blow up on Ohio State like that. It was like damn where the #€££ did that team come from? No question to me what Florida ended up being two years later started that night in Arizona.
SEC was a tough conference those days and Florida played several high-ranked teams. Every single week was a dogfight with other quality teams. Ohio State plays 1-2 tough games a year so they aren’t as battle tested.
An Ohio St. bragger commented before the game, "Florida doesn't deserve to be on the field with Ohio St." Hey, Bragger, how did the crow taste? Also, they gave the Heisman to the wrong QB. Chris Leak deserved it. He more than outplayed the overrated Troy Smith, not just in this game, but the whole 13-1 season in a tougher conference.
I'm not one for talking about hypotheticals, but if Ted Ginn Jr. hadn't been injured on the first play of the game, I do believe that the outcome would not have been nearly as one-sided as it was.
when Ohio state run that kickoff back at the beginning of the game I thought oh shit , but that was it then the Gators took over & ran their asses down
Dallas Baker did wear number 9. 8 + 1 = 9 😂
GATORS dismantled Ohio state that night!!!

And urban Meyer ended up coaching Ohio State to a chip.
