Your grinder joke was A+ Splat. never change.
Hear it at 15:10 best joke for June :D
@@Niohock88should’ve said that will fill up some holes for the weekend😂
Looks kinda like graveyard keeper. It does have quite some charm to it. Also, love the cat!
You mean Stardew Valley? Because even the UI is very similar
@Broski Snowski and stardew is a derivative of harvest moon.
Don't get me wrong, i don't mind at all it's inspired by Graveyard Keeper or Stardew. This kind of games usually made with passion, so it's cool. Might actually play it myself..
Well yeah of course from Stardew as well. The vibe and aesthetic I got was more rustic. Stardew to me is more"pixelarty" (I know that makes no sense I just don't know how to explain it 😁). I love these games! They really are so cool!
Me: OMG that is a big kitty.
Splat: I picked the fattest cat I could find.
Me: I love him.
I've had this game for a loooong time now. It definitely helps you pass time and is fun, I do wish you leveled faster tho to get story elements faster.
This looks pretty chill. The magic of video games is how it can even turn literal work into fun!
and fun into work, especially in mmo games
10:35 I got curious and looked at the video from 2 years ago. The art has definitely got a lot nicer
Had this on the wishlist for awhile. Glad to see it still progressing. Seems like a nice, chill game for next time I have some space inbetween games.
I have the powerful sense having watched Splatty for years he would actually make a good Innkeeper (or Bartender), man seems to have the right personality for it.
One of the visitors was quoting Blind Guardian's "Bard's Song". :D Instant sale. ("Tomorrow, will take us away, far from home..." ... "No one will ever know our names - But the bards' songs will remain...")
The Jolly Rancher thing was more common with Zima back in 98 when I was a teen working in a bottle return. We got thousands of those things with half-melted Jolly Ranchers stuck to the bottom.
I did it with any clear malt beverage in the 2000s. I had a coworker who put Jolly Ranchers in sprite. Peach JR made the best flavor, IMO.
Love this game. Also you can place the individual beer pulls in the box with the porridge. Then just serve them like the porridge.
You know, Splat, i've just thinking about this game really a few minutes ago considering to buy or not, then this new video of yours showed up.
IT'S A DESTINY IN MOTION! I'LL BUY!
This game basically amounts to Graveyard Keeper but reversed, to where you manage the INN and build up everything to service customers whereas Graveyard Keeper you use dead people to fulfill grim dark ends. It is still in Early access, farm animal content just dropped recently and based on the current version you basically get the "expected" experience for post launch. It has a great game play loop. You can spend all day harvesting and building things for yourself and the inn. You can open up and sell to customers directly or hand over a good chunk of your revenue to employ people. You have a few hidden things to find even in their early beta build, some of the major features are undeveloped " mining is NOT intended to be random nodes on the map, which will be changed." Almost nothing you craft or harvest can be sold . . . you MUST actually build or craft things for the inn which leaves certain parts of the game feeling a bit weird because you will have NO USE for those grass clippings until 10 + in levels later. The pacing feels weird sometimes, but it is still beta.
The core game is pretty nice for what it is, not everyone will enjoy a game like Graveyard Keeper but will LOVE this game for the exact same reasons they disliked the other. The flow of building and transitioning between different target activities is pretty smooth. The actual development of the inn and the land surrounding it will need some TLC, but what you see in my opinion is a project worth supporting and playing even at this early point. I think my main criticism of the game long term would be replay-ability and a few nit pick components within. Trees can be placed via sprouts, but sprouts only drop on the final tree growth stage and it isn't guaranteed to drop even at that last stage . . . the shopkeeper found south of your inn sells trees most days. The mines are coming in a future update, but the drop rates are extremely randomized, some large nodes might give me 3 pieces and a small node will drop the same just based on RNG? The nit-pick problem I have with it is that TRENDS are implemented in the game, but generally speaking only a short list of ingredients are actually worth making. You want high tier ingredients such as pumpkins in virtually ALL craftable recipes and you will NEVER use the lower ingredients ever again once you have access to them. The difference between 15 silver to 10 silver input value for a recipe can mean upwards 40 or 50 silver lose in profits if you don't always use the highest ingredient tier. So if you make alcohol you will ALWAYS want to do Aroma Hops with the highest silver value components which in this case would be that pumpkin and then one of the berries. The game needs to have a much more impactful variance in product valuations across each week. I also would like to see more things to place around the inn to enable further customization. Once you've mastered all the skills from the bulletin board which requires EXP and not those motes there is literally no reason to do anything else for it.
I am sure most of my concerns will be addressed in future updates, for what it is this game has charm and I've put about 20 hours into the beta so far. I hope he makes enough money to finish it and release his envisioned experience to the final state.
This game looks great, I'm definitely naming my Tavern Inn the Hobbit Hole cause it's cozy and your stomach will be full
I hope you'll make a series on this game cause I'd love to see more
XXY calico males are rare, but not unpossible.
Congrats on your Shiny Catte.
Makes me happy that you knew about Popcorn. I know he was on a show like Moonshiners so he gained a more nation wide fame that way. But he was fairly local to my area. 💖
you can also cook barley and eat it like oatmeal, or put it in soup or in a salad. It's one of the most nutritious grains.
"The town is rearing to drink at ten in the morning" lol!
Inn Keep. Ive travelled a long way on this day. I was told there would be song to lift my spirits.
---
But in seriousness thanks for covering this. Ive had my eye half and half on it for a while.
Though dont lnow why but I was hoping for a song.
Looking forward to the next one.
Tree don't respawn unless you plant them and it takes more than a day for the to grow to the full extent of their potential. Plants follow the same approach.
Ores reset each day instead.
Overall, it's better to have the tables close to the counter so you can monitor the table cleanness and that guest don't misbehave.
It's a great little game that really has a chill mood and pace. You don't have targets to hit in a time limit, just choose what you want to do and work toward it without stress. No energy bullshit as well, you just need to go to bed when it's 2AM but during the day, do whatever you want to do.
This game also have local coop, which makes it easier to manage the inn easier. As I said, great little gem overall.
Purchased this one just the other day, so far am having a lot of fun with it.
I'm excited for the roadmap they shared. This update is awesome but I'm going to hold off on playing until some of the future features.
Felt some Big Lebowski energy when you had to clean the rug.
This video puts a cat in the Splattercat impression. That's all i need.
Splattercat. You are awesome. Please keep up the good work.
@Splattercatgaming I enjoy this game and have been watching it over the past few years. The art style did change because the original dev sold of the game/code to another dev team and they took over. In that buy out they overhauled almost everything except the main concept of tavern keeper. At first it was rough change but I love to see what they have done with it since the original dev was cutting way back on updates. Now we get them often, along with a decent road map.
Hold on you can just do that? You can just sell a game you’re working on to other developers?
Male cat can't be three colors ? Wow I feel that I learn so much by watching your videos every day that I dropped out of school.
Can, but only very rarely. If you see a triclolour cat, you'd be pretty safe assuming it's a female.
The few male calico cats are usually sterile, as well. (They can't make babies)
Roasting the barley is for beer brewing too. It's how you get darker or lighter beers.
Oh man, this game has gone through so much since I last touched it. I vaguely remember making a lot of beers.
omg I used to go to a pub called the Travellers rest as a kid :D its gone now though... made into houses, was awesome though because it had a couple of arcade machines with "two crude dudes" and A game where your a cyborg cop that lets you power up as you progress (cant remember the name) but it was awesome and probably the reason I like gaming so much now :)
Needs a sign that says “No killing goblins”
The only good goblins are the ones that doesn't come out their stinky hole.
I absolutely love this game. It is still early in development and you can see the bones of what will be a wonderful experience. The NPCs they've started to introduce are starting to add to the atmosphere of the game. I think my big complaint right now is that all your tavern patrons have a habit of feeling "samey". Dialogue at the tables can be repetitive, body types are fairly uniform, and the new NPCs really draw attention to it. E.g., look at how Holly moves and feels when you're speaking with her compared to your main character and all the visiting patrons.
Thank you for doing this game! I've been eyeing it for a while!
this guy.... every time I think I have some free time, he goes and screws it all up!
I have a male cat with three colors. Black white and gray patches. The vet also thought it was a female cat when we first took him in for a checkup.
That rug really tied the room together.
Grindr filling up time at the weekend… Splat if you go on Grindr more than your weekend will be filled up 😂
For once i thought i was one step ahead of Splat with this game...turns out he covered it many many years ago and it has been in open access for a while. I am totally out of the loop lol. The game is quite fun, not really my cup of tea, but an enjoyable time waster nonetheless. Awesome vid as usual, man!
I've been enjoying this game for several months now - it's a great time and well worth the money!
That carpet really ties the room together. Shame it got peed on
BRO SPLATT, ty for covering this game again..i ended up getting it and bro this fun af .
yep, you can pre-pull a bunch of beer and put it in the bar... so you don't have to pull at the time of serving, unless you enjoy it. =D
I feel like this would be REALLY fun if it could be co-op multiplayer
Maybe Gustavo is actually just an orange boy who got splattered with ink at some point!
Golden Crisp breakfast cereal is puffed barley kernels.
Your southern accent was pretty good, you almost sound like a Kentucky or Virginia boy when you talked about that moonshine lol.
ngl I would love this on multiplayer. A player serving. A player cleaning. A player managing finances. A player restocking. Stuff like that.
Copper is actually useful for making stuff like candle holders since it will provide more comfort than the iron ones.
Bought this game because of the previous videos Splatt did on this. Haven't played it in almost a year at this point. Looks like they've changed quite a lot! The animations are all different, and it looks like they've added more exploration and story. Still no social and magic trees though? I stopped playing because I unlocked pretty much everything, and had enough employees to where everything was mostly automated. Totally will go back to it once they've finished the missing skill categories.
"...and it looks like it gave me access to grinder... Fantastic, that'll fill in some free time for the weekend." -Splat
If We talking beers out the Tap Splatter, Molsen out the tap is pretty good too.
almost a mix of kynseed/graveyard keeper gfx.. nice!!
This game is awesome. I got this and put 14 hours in one day. Hit reputation 8 in those 14 hours
Around Seattle you can go to some KBBQ places and get barley tea. I am a fan of it.
This is one of those silly little games that is completely up my alley. I would obsess on all the minutia and fancying up my tavern.
I had a male calico cat that was part maine coon when I was growing up. He was an awesome cat.
The new developers for this game are the ones behind 'Between the stars' and I had an absolute blast with that title, so hopefully this one is just as fun.
It looks exactly like Stardew Valley, artistically.
Even more of a fan now that I know you're a cat person lol
I tried out the game a year+ ago and had such a terrible time with it playing co-op. Thankfully we gave it another try, and it's a lot more enjoyable. It's in early access and has long periods between updates, which is a little concerning though. At least what's here currently is plenty to provide a great experience, especially at the price point that they are asking.
beautiful pixelart!
Game looks like training for robot operator. All you do is work :D
One Detail to tell is, there is splitscreen coop modus. Alltough it has some errors. Its a lot of fun to play it with someone together.
I’ve played that one! I like it quite a bit, it has a lot of charm.
You can pet the cat/dog - This is a good game
You had me at Gustavo.
The cat color thing needs a bit of tweeking. You certainly get heaps of male tabbies with a white chest and two colour pattern elsewhere. Three colours. Probably millions of them.
looks like a cross between SDV and graveyard keeper in terms of gameplay.
Hey it’s.. The Wandering Inn 😁
Grinder. Everyone's got some free time on the weekends. I am a meatball sub guy ;)
The Devs for Between the Stars have had to take over development for this game after the original dev dropped it and since they were running out of cash to finish Between the Stars they used the development of this game to finance finishing the final chapter for their original game. Here is hoping this does well so Between the Stars can get finished in a good state finally.
Loads of potential but still needs time for me. I'd say after they fully implement their social system
The chemical element style abbreviations in the tech tree are really screwing with chemists minds. All I see is Lanthanum, Palladium, Bromine, Ruthenium an Americium.
I had a four color cat, Black, white, and two shades of tan. Was male his name was fritz, he never had a good hair day XD
game looks interesting. would be cool to see the later when you have employees.
He peed on your rug? Dude why would he do that? That rug really tied the room together.
If ever you get the chance try a titanic brewery "plumb porter" from England you might be able to import some but man... love the stuff :)
was always wondering if you would do an update video! looks great!
It feels like a poor's mans version of the Graveyard Keeper. I suggest checking it out instead.
No reason a lady cat can't be a perfect Gustavo.
Looks like Stardew Valley. Could catch a lot of that crowd if more narative/goals gets implemented
this looks great, but i kinda feel that if i want to run an inn/tavern, then I dont really want to worry about farming, gathering, crafting, etc. I think I'd rather order my materials and have a merchant deliver them and then i just focus on cooking and brewing
this reminds me of uhhh it was a mobile game. Adventure Bar Story? but there the goal was to make a successful restaurant
AH tell that to my calico cat family
Gustaavoo 🐈
Ha, it's like tapper on steroids.
Like for Porter!
@Splattercatgaming maybe put the candles in your inventory when you close, so they don't keep burning.
So this is the game that was the reason that Between the Stars never got finished?
Hey I'm the second viewer nice!! This game is so much fun! I've played with my Lil niece to the point we were making wine. Would recommend.
Yeah the previoua style was more pixel-like
🖤
Stardew valley really created a new genre
Gustavo is very cute
Well, well, well.
what will be finished first, this or the Doors Of Stone
Should have went with "The Clapped Cheeks"
Yeah, graphics looks difference from before. I remember it loking like something from RPG Maker XP, but now it's looks like a cross of Stardew Valley and Graveyard Keeper.
Wow, first! Game looks interesting and chill
I hope no one is popping a squat in my dining room, haha.
(IIRC, pop a squat means poop. Specifically, squatting in the woods or whatever while camping.)
