- Hey, y'all! Today's video is a fun party prep video! We are preparing for Ollie's first birthday - FARM EDITION. I hope y'all enjoy as much as we did! :-)

I make all my kids cakes and have figured out some good tricks throughout the years. I only line the bottom with parchment and I still use spray oil. After baking the cake I throw it in the freezer overnight. I then apply the crumb coat the next day and throw it back in the freezer. The final icing coat should go on well after all that. Also I highly recommend a turn table. Just don’t forget to apply a dab of frosting to hold the cake board.
At the end of the day your kids are just proud to have a cake that their mom made for them so don’t stress it too much!

Your bedroom is beautiful! I've been thinking about leaving out the red in my decor this year and just going with a more winter looking theme but now you have me second guessing myself😄 You all are going to have so much fun on Christmas day with Oliver, the wonderment on his face will be such a joy❤

I remember all of my kiddos 1st birthdays we did jump house too. They were all at their grandpa's house in Lake Charles. Forever I remember as a mom....maybe they won't but I do. 🥰 we did Starwars for my oldest sons. Pink Lemonade for my daughter and a chief party for my youngest son's first birthday. I loved doing the theme and the food as well. What great beautiful memories. God is so amazing to see how he loves us as we are able to love our kids and watch them grow. Just a little tip when icing the cake use a smaller knife like the one that comes with your silverware. It will make it so much easier on you.

I made a poster board (foam board) for my youngest daughter’s first birthday with all the month photos on it. She still has it hanging in her room and she’s almost nine. Might be worth transferring the photos to have as a keep sake.

Do you remember what department at Hobby Lobby that you got the chalkboard sign stands? I went there and this is all they had. They are similar, but I like yours better since the edges are galvanized
