      Thank you for these amazing videos. I've searched countless youtube channels to help me grasp concepts and tricks but no one and i mean no one explains these tricks and concepts as clear and well explained as you do. There was so much that i didn't know how to do, but watching these i think i have a new bump on my head finally!!!! i will be watching all your videos from start to finish!!! This video was SOOOOOOOOO helpful. i have so much to say but i'll just say thank you for these amazing helpful videos!!

      FireWalk Just discovered your channel and I love the tutorials. So informative, yet clear, focused and straight to the point. You answer questions that I think of when I'm watching other tutorial videos. I've always heard "Pick the right sounds to layer." Yet never hear suggestions on how to go about that. Yet as soon as I think it when watching your video, you answer! This video was extremely helpful and I'm about to binge watch your mixing tutorials after subscribing. Thanks for the tutorials! :D

      Hey Daniel! Thanks for that! Great to see you here again by the way. No hard feelings :). These tutorials are free for all to use, and I leave it up to those who actually do have money to spare to donate. :)
      If you share these videos with others and tell them about it, then that's kind of like a donation in it's own. So you shouldn't feel bad about that! :)

    Awsome info. It reminds me when a band I was in had three guitars and one would use a basic open chords, the next would use bar chords and fially would use iverts. Thank god we had a great guy whith ears to mix the layers

    • @FireWalkMusic
      @FireWalkMusic  7 років тому

      Thanks! Indeed. It's remarkable how much the actual mixing has to say for the end result. It's not easy, especially when you have a lot of similar instruments like that. They will inevitably try to mask each other. It requires some skills to make them all seem clear at the same time. :)

    I love tutorials with this voice. So detailled without talking arround the point.I always did layering almost like you told us but i learned some new stuff (frequency part, Echo/Reverb Part) and its absolutetly true, sometimes it fits, sometimes i made epic leads, sometimes not ..reason was the echo/reverb part which i had simply luck with when it sounded good.

      Hey Jack! How are you? Thanks for your kind words! Yeah, I actually used to do that very same thing myself for a long time until I realized my mistake. The golden rule of thumb is: If you mute one of the sounds, and you can't hear any difference, then that sound isn't adding anything to the layer, and can be removed. :)

    Took pro piano lessons & music theory/composition for 9 years…self taught music production via UA-cam, Cymatics, and Defyre…people ask me “what videos should I watch to learn production?”
    Automatic answers are
    • Firewalk
    • InTheMix
    [Busyworks Beats is an honorable mention as it’s not as thorough of a producing channel, it’s more about tips and stylistic preferences, so it’s good to see another way to do things but Firewalk & InTheMix could charge money and I’d STILL recommend)
    Matter fact…does Firewalk have a Patreon? If I ever get to blow with my music, I’d happily sponsor Firewalk among others
    Still a broke bedroom producer tho 🤷🏻‍♂️
