Hey guys, in this video we will demonstrate how to program new battery replacement on BMW. We demonstrated on a BMW 745Li e66 model but this procedure might be helpful on other BMW cars and suv such as e60 e61 e65 e66 e83, e53, e70.
If you install different battery size you will need to specify this or you might have problems with the alternator and the charging system later.
Always program new battery according to the car specs. Use BMW approved batteries.

Is there a least expensive diagnostic tool that you recommend?
The problem I have is that Bmw no longer has batteries available for my model (E46 M3) so I need to be able to change the parameters of the BMS. The preset values don’t work unless they match exactly. I have not found any diagnostic tools that allow you to code specific values. I was hoping to avoid having to get ISTA/P but I may have to. Any thoughts? Thanks for the vid 👍

the battery in my 2006 bmw 750li was replaced and nothing in the car works I heard that my car needs to be reprogrammed.
what if you install the same amp battery as your old one you still need to reprogram? if yes, why?

Would you break that down a bit more? Not my Z4, was dad's, he passed away. Mom is not like dad about caring for things. I am having lights on dash come on after changing the battery

@@Nabeelco Exactly: If BMW is so stupid to re-engineer the most reliable part of the car, the lead acid battery, that though needing replacement every few years, only needs proper charging, which is taken care of by the alternator just fine, and make it into something that needs a $1000 programmer, their customers are just as stupid!!!

Hey bud, love your videos. I just tried disconnecting my battery on my e66, i turned the lights on incase there was residual power from small batteries on board. Let it sit for a half hour. Put it back together but all warning lights were still on. Have a bm700 scanner, but it doesn't eliminate codes(abs) the engine code dissapeared but will come back. My windows are giving me grief, now my driver side window doesn't work. Passenger goes down 2 inches at a time. Car runs and drives great, except i have no speedometer. Sheesh?

Mine had 95 agm and i have replaced it with 105agm didint program it will cause any problems? Or just to remember wen the battery was changed
Good video. That diagnostic tool is totally expensive. I saw your other video on programming the same battery but with the charger underneath the hood but can you program your old battery with this same tool?

I have a 2004 BMW 530i the battery totally died and I put a new one in but my screen comes on shows BMW and goes off and keeps doing it. I changed the idrive because it no longer clicked when turned. I also changed the module in the trunk and moved its position. What is wrong with my screen???

90Ah is the highest AGM option. 95Ah option is only for lead acid not for AGM.
