Just wanted to let you know that Andre 3000 is not a feat. on no snakes alive, I assume what you thought was him was the third verse? That is Rodan, but I hear the similarities so I see why you would think that's Andre, second verse is jet jaguar which is MF Grimm.

I don’t believe he (doom) was consumed by anger, sadden by the situation with Elektra and heartbroken over Heem….but that’s not what I want to talk about. Subroc or Heem, as we called him was born Dingilizwe, pronounced ding-el-ez-way. He spoofed it with Kingilizwe.
ah! thank you for the correct pronouncement I was wondering if I pronounced his name right so now I know.
As for the the part where DOOM was saddened, obviously i don’t know EXACTLY what he was feeling but throughout my diligent research and multiple interviews i’ve read and watched as well as interviews of people that’s known him (Del The Funky Homosapien and Ghostface Killah to name a few) they all point to the same story that he was pretty hurt about the situation and basically vanished for a couples years to plan out his DOOM era. But if you have another perspective or insight that i may have missed I would love for you to share.

I do have another perspective, I was with Doom during this time. I remember when he went in the studio with Rich Keller just a day or so after Heem passed away, he recorded suspended animation that day. I remember he wasn’t even going to continue rhyming… he was producing my album only because Heem had started to do so and he wanted to see that through…he contacted me before I went to LI saying “I have a surprise for you” I knew exactly what it was, and I was dying to hear it. It was a song called Hell from Day One (which later became Gas Drawls). He explained sometimes when you make a beat it’s just too ill to give it to someone else and not take the opportunity to say what you have to. Doom spent a great deal of time traveling back and forth between Boston and the city (NYC). He recorded the beats to three or four of the songs that would later appear on Doomsday. We lost touch with one another when we both (for different reason) had to do a short jail sentence. I was out and I spoke with him via his youngest brother and he was telling me how he wrote a massive amount of jams and continued to explain “you’ll know what time it is when you hear them.” I will say some of the beats people think doom produced were produced by Heem. The remix for what a niggy Know, hands of Doom, and reign blood are just a few. I say this to say that’s the strength of the work Heem did. Those songs were able to hold their own from their born date in 92/93 all the way through the late 90’s and into the 2000’s.

@@RealSpacial we remained in contact constantly, I have a great relationship with the family, I know a the crew he ran with in his hometown of Long Beach. Doom would later introduce me to other MC’s and friends who he respected and had a relationship with. Doom is great at maintaining friendships and business, he rarely (if ever burned a bridge). He would take the time to help you out with anything. He’s only a year older than me but he was knowledgeable about a lot of things outside of music, we would have green discuss books or chess games we had played. I tried to catch up with him while I was in the UK but I was on tour and he doesn’t go out like that. He extended an invite to meet up around the way if I had the time… I believe he understood that you never have the time when you’re touring to do something like that… you’re always off to your next date.
