Great video. You have to use a gate valve on that type of overflow. That valve goes on the primary drain which is the lowest drain inside the overflow. Then you adjust is just so the secondary is taking just a little bit of water and the thing will be dead silent. I have this same overflow on my tank just bigger. Also be very careful with the silicone hoses at the bottom. Silicone tends to kink very very easy and if your drain kinks you will have a mess
Definitely the primary. Also, raise the pipe height, inside the overflow, of the primary. Seems like the majority of the noise is the water coming in through the bulkhead crashing too far down. Great videos bro!
I have that very same overflow. Been running for about 3 months now and so far I think it's pretty good. To make it silent put a small riser on the primary siphon. Add two 90 degree elbows to the top so the inlet is maybe an inch or so off the bottom. You'll have to play with the height. This will bring the water level in the box high enough so there isn't any flowing water sounds coming from the drilled holes. Have fun with the new setup! Edit: You'll have to cut off the excess threads from the bulkheads to make room for the primary and secondary risers. If you haven't done that before leave the nut on while you cut so you can unbugger the threads when finished. And put the valve on the primary. Lots of vids online about how to set up a bean animal.
I agree 💯 percent- U should also do hard piping also and add a gate vale so you don’t get splashing, loud sound and protection from a flood. That’s why there’s 3 drains called a bean animal setup
That's a slick overflow 🙂
Excited to see the end product 🔥
The one tank I helped drill and set up we put the gate valve on the primary. Works great

Looking sweet 👍
I want that arch rock structure you have! Still calling dibs
🤣🤣🤣

Thanks for the feedback and support 🙏
I like it!

Yeah I was thinking I would have to mess with the height of the inner plumbing. Thanks!

@@moereefer yeah I'll see what I can do. There's barely any room to work in the overflow.
primary
you want like 99% of the water flowing down the primary then 1% in the secondary and you tune that with the gate on the primary
Cool. Thanks.
Do a bean animal overflow instead it will work better for that overflow
I'll have to look into that
There's barely any space in there to work in.
Overflow drilling makes it look like a pen. Not bad bro 😊
True. I wanted it out of sight as best as possible.
