Family adventure series THE GIFTED, from 20th Century Fox Television in association with Marvel Television, tells the story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Andy has literally been training to break down walls so of course he's gonna tear hers down when she hasn't been training to defend herself against his kind of power.
Elizabeth Daniel yeah it was equal without training in season 1 and they both lost but this part Andy one and the third round goes to Lauren who has gotten much stronger instead of creating shields she can turn them into weapons and uses them against Andy the dream state
I don't think it was a physical battle and more of a mental battle. You can see that Andy was fully ready to finish the fight after it started. But Lauren, although ready to fight was trying to find a way that didn't require her to hurt her brother. Which is probably why she lost.

Lauren is physically stronger but psychologically weaker, she couldn't attack Andy because he is still her little brother and she loves him. I'm not sure about Andy but I, for sure, need a scene where Lauren is in hospital and also a coma and Andy visit her secretly
Yeah I have no problem with them meeting up but Andy has to be careful not to let Reeva find out. And Lauren has to be careful not to let Evangeline find out.

I think that is what will happen but they can't take her to the hospital since she is a mutant and a strucker so they will most likely take her to where they are staying or just keep her in a room at the hospital that no is using and put under a different name

Andy didn't have much of a choice here. He could either hurt Lauran or someone else can kill her. I always supported Andy going with the circle because the Mutant Underground just wasn't cutting it. They are trying their best but nothing is actually changing. Polares and Andy are super powerful and sometimes peace doesn't do anything but get people killed.
who's saving people? aside from making matters worse-the hellfire club ain't done squat..........well that can kill people-mutants included

Lauren's powers are more powerful, creative, and extensive than Andy's powers, but Andy trained a lot
I don't think she is more powerful, she has more years of experience with her power; Andy's powers just manifested moths ago
@@mariacatalinaguerrero5022 Andy has six months training plus completely embracing his mutant side while Lauren never really try to embrace her powers. She tried to control it so she can blend well with humans but she never had a proper training for a battle. She's holding back a lot. She still has some ptsd/guilt over Atlanta attack last season.

Lauren's powers are literally weaker. Creative is arguable. Not sure what you mean by "extensive". Is it Andy's fault he trains? Is that supposed to be a bad thing? Inner Circle prepare for battles because that is the reality of the world in this show, the human government isn't their friend

Well I know he's been training more than Lauren I agree with you actually. I don't think we know 100% what Lauren can do yet though. I'll give the Lauren stans that much, it's possible she evolves her powers eventually

I can tell Andy wanted to help Lauren. He knows leaving her was wrong. But reeva is so much more powerful and he knows it.
I'm curious to see if Andy can use his powers in creative ways. I can think of lots of possibilities that Lauren could do with her powers, so can anyone think of what Andy could do, besides just destroying walls.

Andy isn't "evil" he just has strong beliefs about what mutants needs to do unlike Underground which literally does not seem to have any strategy or plans to improve the society at all and are just reacting against things, doing whatever their cult leader Evangeline Whedon tells them to including try to kill former relatives and teammates simply due to disagreement
I do think it'd be cool for Lauren to join Andy or those two to go off on their own toward end of season
Wow they upgraded the CGI. The shield looks 3D now. And that was a well done scene, lovin' it.
Kinda hurt my heart when I saw this scene and then that moment when Lauren fly's back and hits her head 😫😫😫 I honestly broke.
James Thompson I started crying at this scene and didn't stop till the episode ended. What Andy did was just cruel and messed up and it broke my heart when John was telling Caitlin. A fall like that could have very well killed her because the head is a very sensitive part of the body. Just a simple bump can cause complications for life and in this case she was hit so badly! How in the world can family do that to you?? 😢😢😢
@S D I feel so bad for you. One lesson I've learnt from my own family is that it's best to cut out the toxic members. It's so difficult and they keep trying to come back to ruin me some more. But it's better to leave them. Family is from the heart after all not just blood.

Are you guys forgetting that their equals? The only reason why Andy is stronger is because he has trained while Lauren hasn’t. But their Equal in every way.
They were evenly matched last season when they used their abilities against each other but now that Andy has been training with Reva he's significantly more powerful, I wish Lauren would train as well cause I feel like her powers have so many possibilites: force fields, flight, offensive projectiles, etc...
In theory, I think she can do almost the same things Susan Storm from Fantastic Four can do with her invisible shields, she can create force fields around her to protect herself from the enemy's attacks but Susan is also able to create invisible projectiles, bullets, swords, etc by giving a specific shape to her solid invisible objetos that she can create in a similar way to what Lauren does to compress the air to make it something solid
Andy can blow up walls in a second. Why not blast one person in a second? He is very powerful, so I think his ability will be ignored because it is very powerful.

Y'all can't say Andy wasn't feeling guilty and sorry, obviously his pause was him contemplating his actions but like Reeva said: she (lauren and his family) can hate him, but at the end of the day their cause is bigger. They literally talked about something like this happening like 2 episodes ago lmaO. Yeah their powers cancel each other out, but given the fact Andy's been training thus enchaning his powers more so than Lauren, obviously he was going to overpower her.
Exactly Lana, good point. You can say Reeva is manipulating Andy but then Evangeline the dragon woman is also manipulating Thunderbird. Reeva's speech made sense to Andy and helped give him the confidence to do what he feels he has to

Lauren isn't even angry to begin with though. She just doesn't have the kind of strong emotions Andy does, because he believes in something and is trying to make it happen. Lauren like the rest of the Underground has no idea what they're even doing and just wander around randomly

Yeah I am liking his determination. Sure he has feeling for Lauren of course and he didn't try to kill either of them (unlike Marcos who was ABOUT to try to kill everyone in the vehicle, what a psychopath). He simply "stood his ground" as it were, and made sure his team could escape after a mission

1. I believe Lauren has more experience with her powers, but Andy has more raw power.
2. To everyone who's saying "Lauren forget Andy cuz he left her on the street" What else was he gonna do. You think Marcos would have just let him go over and check on his sister, of course not. They re on opposing sides, Andy is conflicted. That's the story

Lauren was hopelessly naive too much time spent around the dopes in the Underground. Maybe this will be a good growing-up experience for her , part of her transitioning over to joining Andy eventually

Besides after being hit and left unconsicious by Andy, as much as she loves her brother I highly doubt she will seriously think about joining him and I have the feeling that now Lauren will be her parents' center of attention due to what happened to her and her parents started to have a good relationship with her when Reed talked with her and Caitlin about his powers when they ate at the table and she gained her parents' trust in going to talk to Andy so I don't think Lauren will join Andy
It's not about physical training I meant her naive mindset of "I can get through to him". Staying with the Underground dopes won't help improve that crucial flaw. She needs to toughen up not just physically but mentally as well, the Underground cannot help with that pretty much by definition.
Now she has first-hand experience of how simply believing "through the magical power of love all things will be solved" is BS and can get you seriously hurt or even killed. That's what I mean by a wake up call for her.

Very anticlimactic but it's to be expected. Reeva has been working Andy to the bone and making him strong. Andy obliterated them like they were nothing.
For some reason I felt really bad for Andy when they fought. They made him attack he kept looking back to the truck and everything because he didn't want to do it especially when he found out that she was having the same dream. He was so unsure and was scared even though he said he wasn't. What he was saying wasn't genuine at all.

He was not forced, he just looked away or looked back like to remind himself of his "new family" to give himself confidence.
Alexander Platypus I think he blew up when Lauren said that he was scared so never mind about that . But you could tell that he was remorseful for hurting Lauren he still cares about her. I'm not so sure about the new family for confidence thing but sadly he did what he had to do.
I don't care what your ideal are.. but leaving your family on the road while they are unconscious is just wrong. Anyway, I think Lauren needs to move on now and grow her abilities because that girl has loads of potential! I think he felt bad for that and was confused with his action but he wasn't calm enough to think it through.
I know she still believes that the brother she grew up with is still in there the only reason him and Lorna are acting like this is because reeva and the frost sisters did something to them cause Marcos sensed it when Esme was in his mind some how he saw what reeva's true plans and he was trying to warn her that reeva is not what she appears to be he was telling Lorna that she did something to her

Clearly what this means is that you love Lauren more and therefor wanted her to win.
I think they're supposed to be equals because of Fenris and they'll probably end up being equals again, but right now Andy is clearly stronger!

She will probably train to use her powers in different ways from now on, and that will probably include using them in offensive ways. But yeah defense alone can never win a fight

Saw the trailer of Ep 10 and i think Lauren's power is becoming more powerful and looks like she already decided to expand it more.

Andy has more destructive, useful, and trained powers. He could easily beat her but the only thing holding him back is the fact that she is his sister and he doesn’t want to hurt her because he cares about her

Nice fanfiction. The frosts could have run them both over if that was the goal. They did not. The Underground would have all been dead at any time in the last 6 months if Inner Circle actually wanted to do that.

The only reason he went off like that was because reeva,Esme and Lorna told him he was forbidden from having any contact with Dawn which sent him over the edge not to mention what he said to Lorna about reevas true plans

Her powers are not offensive that's all, she is good in a team but not solo

For all those who wonder it is not yet sure who is stronger. Of course here andy won because of 3 main reasons:
1) Lauren held back because she did not want to hurt him
2)Andy has been training a lot and has hotten stronger
3) Andy's powers manifest through emotion and this is why they are so destructive while Lauren's powers are more physical so she must think what she want's to do
Lauren manifested her powers long ago and Andy barely did, Andy was training just like Lauren did in secret, and Andy ALSO held back, he didn't want to hurt her bad so he just pushed her away because he had to do something.

Me too, I hope they can keep this show ambiguous and nuanced and not pure good vs pure evil. They're doing an OK job of it but too many fans are brainwashed to think Underground are always right and Reeva is always wrong, the show needs to be a little better about showing it's more complex

It's impossible to persuade these pro Underground fans. I have tried so much. Once , maybe every 10 or 15 of them, they understand. But the rest are just too stubborn and don't even notice what happens on the show, they just invent their own show in their heads and don't accept the facts lmao

I wonder if Reeva knows if Andy and Lauren work together their unstoppable, like Fenris. If so she should try to bring Lauren over and not think abt killing Andy. But personally I think Marcos, Lorna, Lauren and Andy should just get the heck out of the 2 extreme groups and form their own group, less passive and less aggressive. Maybe Esme can join them too.
I think what might end up happening is Reeva dies or is imprisoned or something but Lorna and Esme take over Inner Circle and make it a bit less harsh but still about protecting mutants by aggressive acts. And maybe Underground becomes more active. So the 2 sides move closer together
One thing I feel people are forgetting is Andy was bullied before getting his power which kinda adds fuel to the fire of having a strong,angry, determination of wanting to hurt people the way he was hurt. Ex is back in season 1 when he was attacking those Sentinel service guards and Lauren trying to stop him. Which also in a way gave him a huge reason for getting stronger which is why he has been training because he doesn't want to feel weak or helpless like he did against those bullies. When u take Andy's feelings in account to all that's been happening to him and him learning of the struckers past. Andy making the choices he has isn't a surprise also Lauren just like Andy was holding back because given the chance ether one could defeat the other. Andy is kinda a hot head and Lauren has been shown to be cool and calm which could allow her to out smart Andy but Andy is just really destructive. Now I'll say that If Lauren every decides to stop trying to pretend that one day that she'll have a normal life with her family and finally decide to take her mutant side seriously and learn what she's fighting for then there is no doubt she will be a force to be reckoned with like Andy already is.
Honestly, not just the bullying had influence in the reasons that motivated Andy to join the Inner Circle as dangerous as they are and therefore made Andy thirsty for revenge against the humans, there's also the parents' lack of understanding of their son, if Reed were the father to Andy that he's being now to Lauren, Andy probably would've stayed with his family, but both Reed and Caitlin were basically demonizing everything Andy and Lauren said about their powers, Lauren was the only one of his family in season 1 who understood her brother and tried to comfort him when he was feeling down, despite the momenta when the both of them disagreed and Lauren didn't approve of Andy's curiosity to learn about his great-grandparents' past, which in itself isn't really a bad idea taking into account that the Von Struckers had the same powers as Andy and Lauren and knowing more about their past, could've helped Lauren and Andy to understand better their gifts.
The problem came when Andy used the historical information he got about his great-grandparents as inspiration to want to become just like them, and that combined with his years of bullying at his school and his parents' lack of understanding and disinterest in listening to him and not allowing Andy to express his feelings, especially when it came to his powers, given that Andy destroys things, you could say Andy really wants to get back at everyone, well everyone except Lauren but still he joined the Inner Cuecle because they told Andy exactly what he wanted to hear and they are giving Andy exactly what he wants right now: use his powers to prove himself stronger than others, si he can never again be humilliated, persecuted and bullied over because of him being a mutant or just because Andy is not as cool and the famous "popular kids" and other things

This series at least deserves a book from Marvel, for FOX to let it die was just wrong when it was great and had so much potential. Back in 2018 I anticipated every new episode and couldn't wait for the second season, just sad that it went off.
