Personal strategy when mining but mimicer's around: he hates 2 block tall fences and fence gates; I was just strip mining in a two block vertical height and 1 block horizontal width until i saw him, placed either a fence or fence gate in front of me where he's charging to and POOF! he can't get me because he can't jump over fences in X: 1 Y: 2 tunnels because he's too big. Outside or in open caves? Built a bunch of 2 block high fences or gates around me as he charges but couldn't get through. It applies too to cave dweller, pale hound, the irritator, and other dwellers that don't destroy blocks (except for man from the fog, he ignored it). I'm on minecraft java 1.19.2 with Tacz mod along. Why guns? Well why not?

you could try with a warden (if you stay far away from the warden, but close to the mimicer and not make eye contact) but the warden will be an issue :blindness

he can break your windows and climb through them and I doubt anyone makes 3+ block tall windows when they want to survive a creature that looks like it would absolutely own a NBA team on it's own, and he can also go through doors, placing a block in front of his head will NOT stop him
